well I have invited her to goto the gym with me, like a month ago or so, but she said no thanks there's a gym closer to her. Problem is of course that she isn't going regularly on her own and her work+school schedule is pretty volatile. I might just invite her to the gym again. |

night you already have the solution....asking her to work out with you is it imo...of course she doesnt want to go gym....coz she would know she is unfit....just ask her to play sports with you...like tennis/squash or something...coz then it's like your going to go "play a game" instead of going to "work out"...mindset will be different |

lots of great posts in this thread but personally i wouldn't tell her straight up that she's fat. it's frankly not your business to tell her how she should live her life unless she is taking the fast track to being morbidly obese. maybe there are certain other overarching issues that you may have not realized that need to be taken care of before anything else.
for now i would just let her know that you're always interested in her well-being as a close friend. the method is up to you i guess. |

nah though tbh i have a fat friend as well and I'm worried about her also. Shes really fat though like obese now. Doctors telling her to lose weight n stuff. Me and my bestfriend dunno how to tell her. Only thing we did was try to invite her to work out with us ( she went with us to buy p90x) BUt she declined. Havent brought it up since.
Also Im fat to tbh. Never finished that p90. But i know when people call me fat or girl mentions my stomach or something I definitely get motivated to work out. My problem is I don't keep at it lol. Also to many people say "your not fat your just big when I call myself a fatass " so that doesn't help motivate me either. I guess its a bit different b/c im a guy and someone calling me fat would never hurt my feelings cause well its true? |

you never really know how fat you are until you see pictures of yourself, and by that i mean REAL focus on your pictures. fat people tend to not look at pictures or videos of themselves but are comfortable with mirrors since it somehow keeps the delusion going that nothing is wrong. personally the only time i ever made a conscious effort to lose all the weight was when my grandma died and i had a lot of pictures of myself during the wake and funeral which prompted me to wake up to what the situation really was. saying or telling them wont make them lose weight one bit. plus theres always that feeling of resentment towards you afterwards |

That is 100% true actually. I hate pictures of myself. And I'm pretty sure whenever I do see a pic of myself I go to the gym the next day. Especially when you are next to all your friends in shape |
