Nothing beats when Mike folded KK to Phil Helmuth during one of the older seasons.

Just to let everyone remember how horrible Matusow is.

I love Hellmuth:

matusow is terrible for television. he never shuts the fuck up, his laugh is annoying as fuck all, and he plays like 2 hands per episode.

shoving here as a bluff at 50NL is like explaning calcalus to a 6 month old cat wtf are you thinking - TalentedTom

Galfond's call looks bad on TV but I guess it's pretty standard. Although Daniel has never bet river as a bluff. What do people think of his J6 instacall? I was pretty surprised he called so quickly.

Because that's how Doyle would play a big ass draw... I've seen his ass play like that so many times. And Daniel probably picked up on that. Pretty easy call, IMO.

Umm, since when does Hellmuth EVER make a big bet like that (80% of the pot) when he has a big hand? He always vbets so small with strong hands.

pretty easy fold actually...theres only a few hands in doyles range where daniel is a favorite, and nit doyle would prolly not raise those

Oh yeah, I know that Daniel is behind against Doyle's range but Daniel knows he has the best hand and he's going to run it twice no matter what.

To clarify, shit like pair + FD or OESFD or overcard + FD > Daniel but I think Daniel put him on that thus the call.

the comment after the hand with elky ('people must be playing different kind of poker than i am') is like the first durrrr moment on televised poker that i hated

1. it was probably cut, so elky tanked for a reasonable time
2. durrrr was losing millions to isildur at that time
3. he was not referring to elky, just to these matusow/elezra shouts "wauwww wat a greatttt callllll" just after elky threw the chips in, 1/3 of the table was shocked how great call it was (was obv good imo, but not super hero call esp vs this opponent)

its pretty obvious for durr to vbet 10s there that he thinks 10s is a snapcall

not trying to be a dick but ur logic is flawed, if durrr is v betting tens+ in that spot then he has to be bluffing a shitload for elky to not have have an easy snap fold.

from what the people said it sounded like elky thought for a long time and they just editted his thought time out. seems kinda out of line for dwan to say something to elky but i guess it was while he was getting raped by isildur so its ok

but was T_T'ing at 'when Dwan is probably never bluffing there'. elky probably has the top of his range, minus a very rare ax (call 5th pot flop check behind turn). if dwan can vb 9x pretty confidently shouldnt that tell you a lot already? :|

Well he can vbet 9x there because Elky either has Ax or a pair lower than 9x the vast majority of time but that doesnt means he bluffs much in that spot and it would be so weird for Dwan to c-bet 9 high on that board that small ammount oop vs 4 opponents imo, for sure its a valuebet, it was small so i think Elky was forced to call but i dont think Elky calls a much bigger bet there

Yeah he can valuebet 9x but what 9's does he have in his range anyway. He's usually just calling almost every 9 he plays preflop. 89s, 9Ts he's not gonna squeeze there as seen in every other hand he played on HSP.

Also with his small bet on the flop I think he represents what he has, a high pocketpair.

So basically he has TT+ imo and I think Elky's call is VERY borderline. I guess he thought he could have 77/88 or something. 99 bets turn most likely anyway because on the turn (after flop call) the majority of Elky's range is Ax I think.

I mean yeah if you view it as a single bet on a single street then the call becomes easy because he's getting 3 to 1 and he has a decent hand but with all the previous action I don't see him beating a lot of Durrrr's range.

im not saying its not a call when elky is getting nearly 4-1 for a call but he took 16 seconds to call and Dwan seems way too upset about it.
