You can try to comfort yourself and say "only god is my judge" but everyone judges everyone and that is just the way it is. You can say who cares and try to live outside any hierarchies but good luck with that. I don't really care what MAGA Karen thinks about me but I do care what my crush thinks or my boss thinks or job recruiters think. Martial arts and the gym is where it's actually closer to a competence hierarchy and they are one place where it is freeing to be an achievement subject. |

In other news:
I got after it today in the gym. It's been a while. I got slightly dizzy and almost threw up. Deadlifts were completed. I don't feel like a pusssay. |

I said fuck DOMS and got after it. I'm moving some relatively pusssay weight but I'm doing it for the prescribed reps and consistently hitting intense 5+ max reps. Dog in due time. Kublai Khan TX is swole fuel. |

I just had a workout where I was scared I was going to underperform because I wasn't sure I was recovered and had some DOMS and have a bunch of worries on my mind. Then something happened and I blacked out and crushed the 5+ reps on every exercise by a mile. Part of that is just noob gains which are hilarious but part of that was a state I got myself into. I feel like damn that is hard to get to every damn time out but I only train 3x a week and there is always something I am carrying that I can try to get rid of in the gym. It is not possible to rid myself of all my worries in the gym but I think it is possible to use that as fuel and forget them for a duration of about 40 min if that makes sense. And, I'm generally going to feel better and more virile and capable after I crush a workout even if the worries trickle back in. |
