I never understood why people take jobs that have these insane 1+ hr commutes each way. The time and money spent on the commute could be put towards the cost of living required to be closer. My old boss did this bullshit, she paid $300/month in doggy daycare, and another $200 in gas, not to mention whatever she values her personal time at. This was all so she could afford her 200k home way the fuck out there. But the buying power of saving $500/month and living down the street could have afforded her that 300k home. She'd break even and have a more convenient life. |
has it ever occurred to you that they're living far from their job because they have close relative and don't think about long term job there ? Like for example they plan to get another job close to their home once they find it ?
Same for the ladyboss, maybe she has a husband that can't live far from his house because maybe it's more important for them ? Or maybe because they have their house so beautifully placed for their future childrens ? I could mention many example, but most of those things you "don't" understand have good reasons behind it.

No, I have had these discussions with colleagues, it's always "oh my mortgage is cheaper out there!" completely disregarding their travel expenses |

but to be fair, if you live above your means instead of at them, and something major happens, you should have more leeway. like if that job disappears, you'd rather have a less expensive mortgage than a more expensive one with a shorter commute to nowhere |

Yeah, the money spent is way less if I live far. The only expenditure is my time. I guess time is important. So yeah I'm going to look for something with max 400 per week and move out with my mate. |

During commute time you could always listen to audiobooks about self improvement - so you never feel like you are wasting it |

Can someone try preload and postload and report how much difference you have in the aftermath? I wanted to try it myself but it won't be a while until I get a chance.

Tried MDMA at a Starcraft tournament two years ago and I thought it was amazing and wanted to repeat the experience once in a couple years or so. Just had a very chill night, enjoyed the music in disco a lot and talking to people felt really good. Don't know where to get it again without buying bullshit though =[ |
