Not that I think it matters in this fight, but Vitor Belfort left the Blackzilians. He has his own team, and is training part time with some other local team. Vitor said he always brought in extra guys to help him with his camps at the Blackzilians, but who knows.

Anyway, since Hendo won't bring anything new to the octagon for this fight, Vitor won't be in a bad spot when compared to if he were facing a guy who evolves every now and then.

WOW. Will Brooks opens at -300 vs Marcin Held. SLAMMED that shit.

Also like Justin Lawrence at -190.

Hendo's chin is becoming more and more Lidellish these days. Vitor's rarely getting KO'ed which is the only chance Hendo has in this fight.

I wouldn't find a good reason why someone should bet on Hendo, the only thing he has going for him is that Vitor is not much of a long range fighter with his punches, but since Vitor is awesome with kicks these days this might not hold true anymore either.
I would love to see Vitor being great without steroids but I guess he abused them his whole life and he is depending on them, so he will either be banned for abuse or fizzle out of the rankings soonish. Also I am not convinced that Hendo stopped juicing, the guy has used TRT as well which is very indicative that he might have abuse prior as well.
Let both juice to the tits and offer a great old school fight, then retire them both for good.

TRT Vitor >>>>>>>>>>>>> Regular Vitor while TRT Hendo >> Regular Hendo. I have no actual evidence behind this thought but I'm guessing this is why some people seem to think Hendo has a good or better chance this time around. Under the assumption that Vitor will be clean. Public's opinion about a fighter heavily revolves around their last fight and people will just remember Vitor's head getting smashed by Weidman and that it was supposedly his first time clean in awhile. While forgetting that he actually did have some good moments and also forgetting the fact that Weidman is kind of a monster when he's on top of you.

But yeah I agree Vitor should be a pretty heavy favorite. Still though. Fuck that guy. Love Jesus!

Look Vitor is a cheater, like many.

He is hypocritical in his religiosity yet non-Jesus-like behavior, like many. I'm with all that. It's lame.

But the way the MMA UG and media treats Vitor Belfort, you'd think he'd actually broken a law like a lot of other fighters, or maybe beaten a women, like a lot of fighters, or murdered someone, like other fighters. I think the general level of Vitor Belfort American hatred is a little overboard.

Dude's sister got kidnapped and murked and he didn't know whether she was alive or dead for like 2 years or some shit. He used it as motivation, and I believe that. That's something to like about Vitor Belfort. He also has provided us endless entertainment that we willingly pay for.

Maybe I'm a hypocrite because I felt the Vitor hate coming into the Weidman fight. But Weidman is my boy... :D

Edit: Sorry, just an irrelevant hot-take on my part.

I am with you soberstone. I like Vitor and I think his religious believes and positive self talk actually enabled him to have these sick performances in the past years. I am following Vitor for 6years+ now so I can relate to what you said. I think Vitors biggest weakness is and has always been his mind, he barely gets hurt (breaks hands a lot but so do others) and he has good to great ground game (which we never see because his hands are so damn awesome). The old Vitor would have capitalized differently on the exchanges vs Weidman, and might have KOed him with the same shots being offered (shots seemed way worse in terms of aim, timing, power and speed). Dan Henderson is a freak of nature, his skin and bone structure is different to normal humans but he is more like a Tree that you cannot bend. Super strong but very unflexible and quite weak on the ground compared to his wrestling degree (lack of BJJ). If Vitor would have the mindset of Weidman, Jones or Connor I would bet the house on Vitor, but he is known to fold in the past (albeit being much better at it the past years). When he fought Weidman he reminded me of Schaub vs Browne, where it looked like the one guy is just physically that much more dominant.
Hendo just seems way past his prime, guy has old men strenght and old men punching power. This is more a question of where Vitor is with changing camps, adjusting to lack of sterioids and so forth, there is a high chance Vitor cycled sterioids vs Weidman and has to stop this time due to more testing. If that is the case then he will be far inferior to what we have seen last time.

Vitor is coming off a loss and has sick media shitstorm comimg his way past few days, add a terrible pr work of his wife on top of it and changing camps and I can see why he might be in trouble.
Dan on the other hand prob. fucks his hot wife a ton and plays with his kids, he seems to be mainly picking up pay checks and fizzling out like a Nogueira.

Actually this fight is more about who is at a worse stage in his career, less so about who is the better fighter, which is sad (race to the bottom)

There's a good Bellator card on tomorrow, but I won't have time to watch it.

Patrício Freire vs. Daniel Straus (Featherweight Championship)
Will Brooks vs. Marcin Held (Lightweight Championship)
Emmanuel Sanchez vs. Justin Lawrence
Michael Chandler vs. David Rickels
Bobby Lashley vs. James Thompson

Very solid card. If anyone hasn't seen Bobby Lashley vs James Thompson I, I really enjoyed it (which is insane for a Lashley fight). I am not betting Straus but I am picking him, along with Brooks, Lawrence, and Chandler (betting those guys), and the Lashley fight seems like a pickem to me - I'm considering a small bet on Thompson since hes at +300 and its Bellator heavyweights and he won the first fight and is younger.

Will Brooks is def a top 10 LW in the world, which is like being a Top 3 Middleweight. He's a very good fighter. I can't believe he only opened at -300 vs Held - a leg-lock specialist who albeit has improved but is still worse everywhere. Sure he's got the 'submitters' chance but no way its 1/4... more like 1/15.

I feel like theres a little bit of value on Belfort, Hendersons fights are usually pretty predictable and here it just doesn't make much sense for him to win. I learned this lesson betting on Tim Boesch, where it made sense for Henderson to win, and I didn't listen. Here it just doesn't make sense though.

FiSheYe   Germany. Nov 06 2015 18:34. Posts 214

It can happen, but only because of Vitors mind/body inconsistencies, not because Dan Henderson has anything to offer, except for a lucky old man's powershot. Just want to protect people from thinking "Oh Dan has this highlight knockout of Bisping and Fedor, that guy is dangerous", as seen in the article the fights he won were under TRT. Ever since he stopped, he is basically a clumpsy old veteran on his way out, a fight like vs Mousasi is the perfect example.

Fuck Justin Lawrence. Just doubled down on Brooks. Don't understand this line at all.

FiSheYe   Germany. Nov 07 2015 17:45. Posts 214

Vitor and Hendo both looked very soft in weight ins. Like compared to their prime physically they appear 2 weight-classes lower. Vitor didn't even looked like he sucked down much weight for this fight (belly fat and his movement on the stage was not as confident/strong as you would expect, almost timid). It's gonna be interesting to see where they stand skillwise

PuertoRican   United States. Nov 07 2015 18:44. Posts 13049

Dan Henderson looked the same as his last 3 fights, which were all at 185. His 6 UFC fights before that were at 205.

Vitor looked soft as expected, but* not sickly like he did against Weidman. Yesterday, his chest was flat and on the verge of sagging, and he was trying his best to suck in his stomach to show his remaining abs. He's probably not 100% clean, but he isn't big like he used to be.

Yes. I've been posting my bets in my spoiler on the first page the whole time. Its what I always do. Check bestfightodds.com for lines/histories/movement etc. Lines move bud

I also started on cappertek.com a few months ago and became a pro on there about a month ago. factsntruth1.cappertek.com . You can 'buy' my picks (obviously no1 here would cuz I just post them on here) but I just do it to have 3rd party proof in case I ever feel good enough / have the desire to make a website, etc.

I'm glad most of the fights are on free tv today. I can watch from my big television.
