Ive heard good things, will prob check out after season one is complete.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same
Thanks will check it out, just got done with wayward pines.

its full of clichés not symbols. cool white genius guy among all the young programmers with a good looking wannabe girlfriend (pretty much suits style), gay boss, when the biggest company in shit they call him from the street to save millions of dollars and yet he is at the bottom of the ladder. and the hacking part is... yeah ok.
wp the only differencec between him and Gates & Jobs is that they werent at the bottom of the ladder .. oh wait Jobs was
thats not the symbols i was talking about its more like V for Vendetta/1984 like society who cares about the guy himself or his girlfriend lawl
sorry thats pretty shallow, i can destroy absolutely every show if I look at it that way

yea i may be overcritic sometimes, but the wire, breaking bad and boardwalk empire set the bar so fucking high
its like this: when i go to the movies to watch something like avengers or jurassic park, i pretty much know what to expect and just trying to enjoy the show without this attitude, but when it comes to series like this which could be top.... well its different

It's nowhere close to BB, the wire or boardwalk, but they are trying hard, doubt it ll work w this plot either.
It's a pretty bad year for series overall if we compare them to those. GoT was nowhere close, True Detective is just a shadow of the previous season, Better Call Saul... dunno i stopped watching 4-5 eps in should probably give it a shot though, hopefully Fargo will be damn good.
I'd much rather watch something like Suits at this point since I know what I'm getting and don't have high expectations of depth or smtng plus its fun

Watched few episodes. It's incredibly ridiculous. Haven't seen anything so bad since Suits probably.
lol, i guess people have different taste, boardwalk got super boring after a few season, stopped it ages ago, snooze fest. Mr Robot is amazing lol.
The weird little camera angles, then weird stop at things that aren't important, the music fits so well with the different scenes, the up and downs, it's great lol.
Still not Breaking Bad level good, but i think like a 8,7 or so. Hard to say when you're in the middle of it, people have a tendency to over rate, easier a few weeks after.
I guess im biased about my opinion since i just finished off the Millenium series and they are amazing especially Lisbet Salander's character and Mr Robot seems slightly the same
^ I guess people are a bit different in taste. But to me, a show like Suits, which I know a lot of my mates thinks is amazing, will never be rated particularly high, since it's got no depth, cheesy one liners, gimmicks, and just following some formula. It's kinda what you watch after you've watched what you want to watch, but it's still fine entertainment, just not stuff you recommend when people ask for recommendations.
Do tend to check out most stuff, but stop after an episode or two, or even sooner if it doesn't feel right lol.
Oh, here's another show I think might be good, at least looks promising in the Trailer, and it's a new Netflix one:

Check out justified. I lived about 2-3 hours from where it takes place, but it was just like the show (the town I lived in). Best show ever.
Also, suits is still fun, thank god

So like ....
Mr Robot went into the limo with Tyrell previous episode which raises a few questions:
He had info on Mr Robot, considering that's supposedly Elliot that means he already knew he's fsociety which would make the last scene of the episode a bit useless? Another way of looking at it is that Tyrell knows that Elliot is sick as well and just manipulated both these scenes.
Obviously Tyrell has an ulterior motive could he have wanted to destroy Evil Corp from the inside? Would explain a lot about his wife's behaviour and their relationship
Is the blonde chick gonna replace him now?
What is the connection with the previous CTO , forgot his name the one thats on trial now ? Him being just a corporation shark seems a bit off so his identity is yet to be fully revealed is my guess.
Pretty mind fuck show. Really great.

Don't like to stop in a middle of a show so I've watched whole thing as well. It's definitely most retarded tv show I've ever watched. Level of childishness/naiveness in it is so ridiculously high. Won't watch another season for sure.
My theory is that Tyrell is alive with the tools to crack the encryption which would resolve the problem that is current E Corp situation. Which is his ticket back into the company, and more (since it's the end for E Corp otherwise). Price is probably in contact with Tyrell.

I really like the attention to hacker detail in season 1, but this whole insanity thing is kinda lame imo. I'd rather it just be like a dark version of Silicon Valley, whereby they consult with real programmers and such to make a realistic show without all the sensationalism.
The first episode of season 1 was amazing, but it went downhill from there.

Show is really good in some areas and really terrible in some areas, I like it but its not great.
Positives: Well-directed, well-acted, good premise.
Negatives: Writing/dialogue is iffy, show tries to be too smart for it's own good, has some ridiculous stuff going on.
Parts like when Darlene needs to open that safe and looks at the dude's certificate and magically knows the code is his graduation date just make me angry, it's so lazy.
All in all, page-turner of a show, I binge-watched the whole thing to this point this weekend. Thanks for the thread.
? that's what i was saying.. he's really in prison.
edit: and we had the same idea because you said he might really be in a mental institution.

Yeah i had not watched the end of the episode.
Many things didn't make sense for him to be in a prison, like occasional women, the black TOR site guy would have to be a guard/warden and everything related to that.
What is he in for? Sure as hell not the hack, otherwise his sister and Angela would've been in prison as well.
I guess the occasional plot holes were fine so it was still a bit of a plot twist.
Spitfiree   Bulgaria. Aug 19 2016 12:14. Posts 9634
What are you talking about Saibot ? A pattern of action is plenty of evidence to formulate a theory. In the end lucky was right.
I like to actually use my brain when im watching a show, I wanna know where the characters are going, how will they develope and why are they doing what they are doing. Thats why i rarely watch any these days, if i wanted to watch braindead shows I'd still watch The Walking Dead or some crap like that.
I do not feel the need to just watch and not think about a thing, in fact it bores me to death.
And nobody is like " oooh we knew" , we were just discussing it and what the holes in the theory was. I couldnt give less fucks about impressing someone on the internet of how " smart " and " sharp " I am.
Guess i need to chill too now

There's a lot to appreciate in Season 2. A lot of artistic and directorial moments where it's almost humorous. The staircase lighting up while Elliot is on adderall was one of the most creative ways to convey that type of high that I've ever seen on tv.
Another thing I really enjoyed is the way they casted Craig Robinson, a tradtionally comedic actor for such a dangerous, violent and dark role. It really played on our perceptions of actors (like scarlett johansan's voice in her, and Carie ann moss in momento).
The only problem with S2 really is that it's on traditional tv and not available for binging on netflix.

Last episode makes me want to question everything about the plot up to now tbh, at the end of the series he might wake up in a mental institution or as a completely different person that doesnt remember anything or whatever plot twist they could come up with ( which will prob be much better than my guesses here ) and get away with it. They set everything up so nicely, really good series.
yeah. i'm guessing that he could end up becoming mr. robot. and mr. robot was actually waiting for the right time all along. he clearly had ulterior motives when he started becoming nice with elliot.
that would set to start stage 2.

I'm afraid they might cop out with the insanity/dream excuse because as good as the show is, it looks like it's getting in over its head. I have this nagging feeling that the writers dont have a conclusion in mind yet, and whenever this happens the series drags out until they throw in the towel with a "gotcha!" finale, patting themselves on the bag thinking they were so sophisticated. Basically the ending to Lost was fucking bullshit.
I feel like the writers know exactly what they are doing and are most likely laughing at the audience being so confused.
I disagree with the comparison to Lost, as Lost had about 5000 stories they opened with big " Ifs ", while here there are about 2-3 major questions.
Could still see you being right, hopefully you wont be.
If you arent, I could easily say those are the best series ever made. Everything from plot through soundtrack placement to camera work is exceptional to say the least.
The creator has said multiple times the show will be either 4 or 5 seasons long and knows how it will end. I honestly don't see how they can make it longer than 3 seasons without fucking it up, but then again thats far from my job. Also I do not believe its about how the show will end, but rather the journey ( I know the cliches, right? ) as this feels like the story of so many people combined, working on encryption, anti corporation, privacy and etc. Plus shows the highest levels of corporations as they most likely are.
The biggest problem regarding the show imo is gaining audience as this is far from the typical show everyone would watch.

I think ep 9 was one of the best episodes and it was about to start popping off in ep 10 but it slowed back down a bit. Finale should be good just waiting for Tyrell to emerge. This show is nothing like lost; lost was trash. They know where this show is going.

I havent seen this posted anywhere but i caught it rewatching the earlier episodes of season 2. They gave away the reality of Elliots situation early on. When he is walking outside down the sidewalk he passes a fence with block lettering "not an exit" which was clearly out of place giving away the fact he was actually inside of a building.
Something s not right regarding the whole Elliot- Tyrell - Joanna, I still don't get why she spoke to him in swedish earlier ( last season ? ) as if they know each other, but then after last episode she obviously doesn't act like he s someone she knows, she probably knows him but is aware that he has split personalities? Both Tyrell living or dying make no sense tbh either. I do believe he s dead, but the question to both situations would be why?
The mind games are real.

fun show with 10000000000 easter eggs per episode. this level of attention to detail and the freedom provided to television directors from producers and studios is definitely responsible for the "golden era of television"

this also worries me. I feel a lot of the sensationalist michael bay hacker exercises are becoming too simplified now. I loved season 1's attention to real hacking; social engineering, exploits, and glimpses and good ole fashioned coding and linux. They consulted with hackers to keep it real. Now the show is getting kinda far fetched, with MacGyver level shit. Pop in a simple thumb drive and poof all passwords for everything on computer are decrypted instantly, make a high gain wifi antenna out of a pringles can and instantly find the perfect open wifi network to piggy back off of, already have latent knowledge of cellphone operator protocol and manipulate them into divulging customer information with old school fax documents, etc etc etc.
I dont want elliot to have these kind of God like powers. There needs to be a struggle, he cant just instantly know how to hack anything and everything at the blink of an eye. But audiences are dumb and probably ask stupid question during screeners like "whats all that stuff on the screen! I cant even read it, how do I know what they're hacking in to!" so the writers are dumbing it down. I swear I'll stop watching if he starts hacking in 3d zooming though systems like a video game.
bye now

Thats what i meant by mind fucks. This was either the most straightforward episode in the season or the exact opposite and I'm not even close to sure which one is it.
It seems Angela s been put up to date by the Dark Army and Tyrell s a person. But did they really just shoot Elliot and does really Angela wants to be the first person for him to see because she loves him only?
Tbh i wanna see Joanna play a bigger role, this chicks character is amazing. Pure fucking evil done right, while others are insecure about decision making, she just wrecks everything in her path
Leon, being a Dark Army guy seems kinda meh though, I'm guessing they got killed and he s their hitman guy
