Legit idea. Promise. I need something solid like $250K-$500K to get this started, or someone who's really tech savvy and can make professional looking websites with servers (and probably some money but way less, I got some saved). Startups are selling for 1bil left and right. Anyone with Phil Galfond's email?? I need to pitch my idea to him! I'm learning RUBY right now ... but to do a 10 man job myself from scratch is not the way.

I don't know how to go about this. I felt like emailing the idea in a power point through runitonce contact but what if whoever is on the receiving end just steals it.

u have 0% chance of making this work with no programming skills + no money even if it's the best idea in the world dude. if u r serious about it hardcore grind ruby until you can do it yourself. No one is going to put up all the money or do all the code and give you 50% because u have some vague idea.

Just say it, ideas are overated, balls is what you need
I give you one for free. I want to do a coaching marketplace or something where you can trade classes online just becouse I want to teach in exchange to other skills. But no one does it. And Im not interested to take the risk.

There is a show where people can sell a part of their business for $.
When the person is only selling an idea, nobody ever buys it.
An idea isn't worth anything unless you actually proves it can somewhat work.

And if you somehow found a genius idea which could somehow be worth a lot of money by itself (really unlikely), there is no real way to sell it in a safe way. The only thing i can think of is you could patent your idea but i doubt that lol

Anyways, i actually have a degree in programming but don't really have much experience in web site design so i can't really help much

Rinny- I agree. I have about 80k saved. That's probably enough if I can set up the whole website myself. But we'll see. It's not exactly a vague idea. I have numbers and everything.

Forest- Not gonna say it. But yeah maybe I will invest all my own money and see where it takes me.

Floofy- There's a show in America called Shark Tank where people try to get big names to invest in their idea/existing business. My idea isn't genius. There's just a pretty big market right now. It's ok that you can't help. Thanks for the reply.

well don't give away your idea obv. I'm studying programming and when I get good enough I will hit you up. We can talk and if we both like it we can do something

What if you pitch this and get funding, only to have it turn out to be a 99 million dollar idea?

i never understood how startups work. Like lets say u really got the good idea, then when u wanna raise funds, you gotta tell ur idea and then they could just do it themselves or?

This is how funding of start-ups work. Start-up is just an overused hipster term nowadays for new businesses.

Also they don't do it themselves, cause they lack the time, proficiency, drive to do that thing, but they can see the potential in it.

I once sent a business plan to the guys at CardPlayer magazine. It was for Poker Ladder . com. Basically it used hand histories to give you a rating like SC/BW and you had rankings for diff limits, hands played, profit, hourly and all that and prizes for diff categories monthly. It had forums but the players ratings showed so when people were commenting / giving advice you could see who was competent or not. I don't remember which Shulman called me back. But he wouldn't sign the non disclosure agreement but he read the biz plan anyway. I think my setup was kinda greedy because I wanted members to sign up through our site so we could get rakeback. I got arrested shortly after this so I never got a chance to really put it together.

Shortly after I got arrested I saw in CardPlayer magazine that the Shulman's started a poker league free money site with prizes and stuff and I wondered if my business plan helped them come up with that idea.

Sorry to kill your wibe, but ideas are worthless, execution is everything that matters.

1. No one is going to steal your idea.

2. If you can't execute far enough and validate your idea to the point where you can raise some capital from an $80k start (and probably much less) then either you're not competent/motivated/knowledgeable enough to succeed at it or your idea is flawed.

Do you have Elon Musk's email? I need to talk to him about venture funding

My idea is called the Tinderbox, it's a dedicated handheld device for the Tinder app because Tinder should have its own hardware rather than use your phone (more discreet). It secretes an alert fluid whenever you get a message

It seems to be not very profitable in the long run to play those kind of hands. - Gus Hansen

I have one of these too, except mine needs 3-7 million.
