Just hadan idea for Lp, what do you guys think?

Here and there I get invited by old friends to come join them at some Ventrilo, at some teamspeak, or raidcall etc.

And here the other week, I was in a really nice one, with tons of channels for all kinds of different games, then I got a thought.


Wouldn't it be kinda awesome if Liquid had something like that, but mainly for poker?

And lots of cool channel names, you could divide the names into different stakes, you could also make some high stakes channels, channels with password, so micro players wouldnt keep trying to bother really good people.

Could also have like "Common area" where people could just sit to hang, chill or talk, or channels for people who are looking for people to sweat each other, stuff like that.


Poker is a pretty lonely endeavor compared to most games, wouldn't something like this be pretty awesome?

Just tossing out a few ideas, I'm sure people could come up with a lot more, and make it more awesome.

Maybe have a sticky post here in general chat with the details for the teamspeak, login etc. Could also be some system, who gets authority etc, or that you have to send mail to an admin to get it, to avoid trolls, maybe some requirement, x amount of posts, something like that to!!

Ohh, maybe some channels for the games people on lp likes to play the most, like Dota, D3R, Poe,Hs, Sc2 too maybe?

Yeah, the internet is becoming more fast paced, aint no one got time to sit around refreshing threads. Things like this have be tried before and they have died due to not enough users. I think its UX problem, it would have to be really easy to access: one click from the main sidebar of LP and you are listening, for example. and would need live user stats to entice people in. maybe some kind of (shitty) audio transcriber that writes what it thinks people are currently talking about, live. that would entice people in too.

As to why Meat would bother coding this up, I am drawing a blank.

Was also thinking about something, like, under our names or something, be cool if it said what stakes we were playing, would also help when you get advice on hands, often, someone says, "thats terrible" then a much better players comes along, nah, that's pretty standard!

Maybe not that important lol, but would be cool.

I also remember some talk about wanting Baal to maybe to a WELL thingy on lp.

Think i'd be cooler if we got all the players who are beating today's game to do a well, like, everyone who won over 200k or something last year, do a well, and they can do it in order, once every 2-3 week, not that many ppl on liquid, so should be quick, and not to long winded.

OOuuuuuu, just thought of another cool thing, like, most of the channels is free to join by anyone, but make the Poker channels by stake.

So it could go like:

2nl - 5nl

10nl - 16nl

25nl - 50nl

100nl - 200nl

500nl +


And you can only get access if you prove you're a winning player by minimum 100k sample size at the previous stake?

I bet no one that plays 5-10 would like the channel dynamic if he had to "waste" his time, when it comes to poker talk. But he would probably love to hang out in a game channel when he's lolling about, or come join in a general chat channel when he feels like that, but when he pokers, he wants to be with/talk with ppl around the same level as him

lemon told me something bout, longple never sweats ppl who doesn't have 6bb/100 winrate or higher on 200nl +, and that was his minimum (means ur lucky!!)

chat cant survive since google indexes posts as a basis for a website's activity and userbase, which makes for pagerank, which makes for a site's valuation, adds and overall $$$. its in a websites best interest to keep people posting instead of chatting. its the reality of the current system I think.(also annoying to scroll through chatlogs instead of just looking at threads)

I don't know either, but I talk to friends about it a bit, and I even bring it up to my shrink!!

I think im drawn to poker, I find it fascinating and awesome, and I don't mind being a newb at it, it's just so weird.

Ever since I was a kid, I was "amazing" at every game I touched, learned, and it kinda was like that, till adulthood!!

But then I got into poker, and I just found it really hard, I struggled, I Gave up a few times, became emotional, but I still loved it, since you keep feeling like you learn all the time, so many things to have focus on. I kept trying, and even though I got burned, sites stole my cash, Dokosoko/tiltyboy fucked things up for me lol, I kept coming back, several times I've grinded from a few euro up to a few k.

It's so fun, being, average at something lol, but sometimes a little worried I'll regret spending so much time on it, but i don't think it's wasted time, since I have a lot of fun studying it, learning about it!!

I usually rise to top 5% in any game I've ever tried to get good at, but in poker, I'm just mediocre lol.

So pretty awesome to keep trying whenever I feel like it, so yay xD

I can't really complain though, since poker let me travel around the world for a few years some years ago, and I know i've made an okay amount, but it's nothing to brag about, not compared to the good ones. I feel like I'm maybe, somewhere in between 58% - 65% top, which is me trying to be as accurate as I can. Maybe I'm being a bit to harsh, but most ppl over estimate, and that's lol.

Today, I got home visit from shrink, and I just had to show her my new hud setup, I was so proud, I couldn't contain myself, I've spent hours and hours on it. My biggest weakness has always been math, but ive got a great friend who owns at math, and i bug him, and I've "applied" myself, into learning and understanding hud, HEM2, stats, and the ranges in them a lot, I HATE READING NUMBERS, but i force myself, a little every day, I get tired, exhausted lol, but I went through it, and finally, I made an amazing hud, with color coded ranges, pop ups that are useful, the works, couldn't be happier!!

Now I just need to play some more, and apply the knowledge lol

I could go into great detail about what ur feeling, it's got something to do with ur amygdala, and how it takes up information 0,2 seconds before the visual cortex.

It's not that many liquid people I've talked more to, and gotten them on skype, or whatever, but I've liked everyone I've done it with, much cooler than I've thought, and to my surprise, most of them felt a lot smarter than me, so all of that is really cool.
