brb depositing to play some heads-up finally.
Stars should allow a one time screen name change now and everything would be perfect. |

I'm disappointed they didn't do it earlier thou, if a cease and desist letter was all that was needed. |

unlikely an empty cease and desist was all they needed, ive been told directly from them that they have been wanting to get rid of PTR for a while now but that it wasnt an easy task.
Great that they managed to do it without altering their software (like ftp did), cool. |

A cease-and-desist letter is pretty serious business and if you can't back it up with a justifiable lawsuit you can be in big trouble yourself.
A lot of time and work must have gone into this project of stopping them. |

So basically, PokerStars doesn't want PTR to datamine from them anymore.
If PTR stops charging for its service, do they still have to stop what they're doing?
You could always create a new website for datamining, but, stuff like that takes time. Even doing something simple as re-directing a websites address would get annoying after awhile, so if PTR were to close or stop offering their service, I don't think there would be another site to pick up its slack.
Maybe I'm wrong, dunno. This isn't something as small as downloading someone video and keep reposting it on the internet after it's been taken down by a website. |

I wish I was good enough to win on Stars midstake, I'd so play there lol.
I get really intimidated by all the reg like stats, and when I look at a table and there's lots of 18/16, 9% 3b, I go "eeeek".
sry for qq xD |

Big winners like lets say Nanonoko are encouraging, Nanonoko graph is inspiring to many casual players and it induces deposits so for pokerstars in under those terms a player like Nano is more valuable than a break even sne even if the sne generates more direct rake.

how are they going to encourage people to deposit now? |

Are there any other websites, where you can search people's names to find out their graphs: to see whether they are fish or not? |
