If you aren't making way more hourly than an entry level job where you are then you need to go get a fucking job. You can play poker after work and when your studies are done. You're asking for a stake where you're either going to have to put in a stupid amount of time or take serious risks at higher stakes. There is absolutely no reason to try to pay for your studies with poker if you need a stake to make the money you need.

seems like a winner at micros, is about to finish up studies, and decided to take school more seriously than poker, but nl30 pays better than dishwasher at restaurant....all these people saying "quit poker get job"...... apparently didn't read.

stake makes sense, but like night said, if you can't get one asap just withdraw and work an odd job or two for some money and grind up again. it's not the end of the world and you should probably be putting the max effort into school and finding a good internship/entry job (they can be hard to come by in the USA, anyway).

I mean, if you think about it - you will probably want to phase poker out a bit, anyway. You would be so busy with new job, social life, etc. that you would probably only play it for an hour a night or for a bit on weekends anyway, right?

Not going to say you're a fucking idiot blabla but you're comments are very unaccurate and ignorant. College in Mexico is not like the U.S. I study in one of the most expensive colleges in Mexico and I pay $11,250 usd a year (there are obv some that have higher prices but not that many). There are others that cost like $500/year and the level is still pretty good. People in America not going to college cause they don't have money have definitely not look or investigate other alternatives.

For el_tilon to be paying $2k/year or semester I'd say he is in a good college but still $2k is a lot of money here. A good salary of an engineer or whatever would be like $800-$850 and for a part time job you can't expect much or anything to make it worth it. So saying "get a job" don't think its a good advice.

Asking for a stake instead of getting a job I think its a better deal than getting a job. If you withdraw your bankroll and pay for your college and you don't have to pay anything else, then you'll feel pretty comfortable playing in a stake and I'm sure you'll do well. Don't know how much free time you will have though as studying and practicing take most of your time and you'll probably be too tired to grind at night, etc. You're the only one that currently knows that.

Although if the country has an engineering school and the tuition is 2k per semester then that suggests the local economy is big enough to support it in terms of there being enough students who can pay that price. That suggests there is at least some possibility that student support programs, student loans, or loans at a low rate of interest form local banks might be available.

He could also just be changing his country of origin and lying about where he is from to get more support for his staking plan because obviously if he was living in the USA everyone would say GTFO get a job.

Locoo says a bunch of truth, here in Mexico is so difficult to get a parttime job. Payment is really low and i wouldn't have time to practice as an engineer. Poker gives me the opportunity to play on my timeoff and weekends, that's why i think that if someone helps me, i could play better and without getting so stressed.

you have a 6bb/100 winrate and a good rakeback deal, you could start from NL5 with the remaining money you would have or with a deposit bonus (as it is super easy to beat it) and get to NL30 from there. It would'not last long.
And to play poker to win money for daily expenses is not a great idea. You would have a lot more pressure and your results could be affected.
