<img src="http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/Raidern/robbie_verspui.jpg" align="right" style="margin:5px; border:1px solid black;">Although many of the new posters won't recognize him, most of the old folks will. Robbie 'RobbieV/Strafe' Verspui belongs to the first generation of LPers and still maintains a relationship with many of us. Earlier today, he finished the $1,500 No Limit Hold'em Shootout in 2nd place for a $228,334 payout. His opponent in the heads-up, Andrew Badecker, claimed his first WSOP bracelet after winning a nine-handed table, a ten-handed table and a 16 person sit & go.

Badecker started the heads-up right after eliminating 3rd place Daniel Makowsky and holding a roughly 3 to 1 chip advantage over Robbie. Had it been any other game, it would be easy to boldly predict an easy victory for Badecker, but this is No Limit Hold'em and we know how quickly things can change. Our Dutchman fought back and won some important pots, increasing his own chip count and making Badecker fight for the title. Things went downhill again when Robbie lost this hand where Badecker hit trip deuces on the river, as the pot was big and gave the control of the match back to the American.

In the final hand, Badecker 4-bet RObbie's 3-bet and put him all-in. Robbie made the call with AsJh and found himself ahead in the race against Kh2h. Unfortunately for Robbie the flop came 7h5s2s. Although the Ks on the turn helped both sides and gave our Dutchman some hope, the river brought a red five, which meant Andrew Badecker took the golden bracelet and a $369,371 first prize. In order to get to the heads-up, both players needed to defeat a strong final table that featured players such as David “Dragon” Pham, Dan “djk123&#8243; Kelly, Vitaly Lunkin, Eric Cajelais, and Daniel Makowsky. Other familiar players who played this event and made it to the money are Lex 'Raszi' Veldhuis, Bertrand 'Elky' Grospellier, Blair Hinkle and Dan 'Raidan' Lu. Congratulations on putting a truly epic performance, Robbie V!

if poker is dangerous to them i would rank sports betting as a Kodiak grizzly bear who smells blood after you just threw a javelin into his cub - RaiNKhAN
