The casino is at fault, yet the three $25k entry players and the one $125 entry player lose out in the end.
Sounds like a win-win for the casino yet again. |

I read somewhere that the busted players were/will be refunded 3-5k and the curly haired guy was banned for life in any Aria casino. |

they can ban the guy whatever I don't even think he should be banned. He should be refunded his $125. How can you expect someone not to freeroll there. If you are playing craps and they you are betting odds whatever and they give you extra money it is super standard not to say anything. I suppose the fact that his actions may damage other players should be considered though and definitely may change things.
I just wouldn't really blame a guy being handed a 25k entry for trying to play it, just as I wouldn't blame anyone for keeping quiet about an extra 5 bucks in change at wal mart (I'd prolly say something in this case just because I wouldn't want the employee to get in trouble for her till being short but fuck Wal Mart I would have no problem taking their money) |

I don't believe the busted players lost out on this. Its likely the 125$ player was below their level, and if they stacked him it would have been very profitable for them.
Now for the 125$ player, i do think he was in the wrong here, and the casino did the right thing.
If you go in some starbucks, order a 1$ cofee, and then they do a mistake and bring you a more costly drink, if you go away with the costly drink whitout saying anything, that could be considered stealing imo, same thing here. |

I can see why the guy did what he did. I once was at Mcdonalds ordering food for a bunch of people. I looked down at the debit machine to see the girl punched it in wrong or something happened and I was paying .06c for $25 of Mcdonalds. Didn't say anything because fuck Mcdonalds. Similar thought process here I imagine.
I see what Trax is saying about not wanting the employee to get in trouble, but that didn't come to mind at the time. |

$125 player mostly at fault. Casino obviously made a silly mistake. You should be smart enough to know that the entry is in error and even if you did try to play it and win you would be forfeit since the amount of cash taken in and the prize-pool won't line up and his entry won't be verified. Pretty obvious you are going to get caught if you ask me.
Even if he wanted to make the claim that he was just "playing his entry", the casino could give two fucks about him and do whatever they want. Who's going to contest? |

Casino made a mistake and its the players responsibility to make it right?
What happens in a cash game if you think everyone folds, and by accident you throw your cards face up in the middle?
Its a bit extreme, but none the less, you'll lose the pot. Granted that is basically only vs other players, but even a winning hand would be a loser obv at that point.
Idk. I think as much money as the casino makes, they should have just bit the bullet and let it go.

1$ coffee? That exists in the US?
Pretty sure I've never seen anything cheaper than like... 4 or 5$ in Korean starbucks (I dont drink coffee but my girlfriend is addicted to that shit). |

What about saying "my bad", adding 25k to the prizepool and letting it play on as usual?
saying this guy was an illegal player and taking him out despite significantly effecting the tourney outcome seems so messy and unfair to the rest of the players

While I agree that you should expect most people to freeroll here that doesn't necessarily excuse it. It's like leaving your bicycle with its keys inside the lock, someone is just going to walk off with it. I don't see how you can possibly say it is fine for him to play it, even if it is really understandable. Either way if they let him play it out that means every person in the future who gets in this situation can do the same. They have no choice but to remove him from the field and ban him. |

there r many interesting Posts
but the most interesting questions r
1. did the aria changed the prizepool?
2. how did the lucky/unlucky guy reacted, when the floorman came to his table.
I dont think that they banned him immedeatly,
i think the floorman came to him and said, sorry in the Registration process was a mistake, please leave this table, here u get a 125$ torunament ticket and a 20$ bar voucher, than the guy was an completly upset asshole and cried, i chucked out 3 Players already, i dont wanna leave the table........... and then he got banned.
but ist only a theory, would be nice to hear the Story of somebody who was right there |

Hilarious.
Now I think I read Mercier wants to compensated/money back. But at the end of the day youre playing Poker with someone and got busted regardless.
Especially since his "level of play" is expected to be lower, I find it funny they are QQ'ing about it.
Should have he done it: No
Would I have done it: Yes
Should busted player be refunded: No |

i think the bi's should be paid back to the 25k players, the 125 player should be slapped on the wrist since its just logical in this poker gold race and its like hitting the lottery when they hand him a 25k ticket for 125. i know most ppl in this world would play that instantly! |

Yeah that's the best argument so far. If people took every single opportunity to get little short term advantages over others the world would be a terrible place. |

This is a terrible argument. You are basically saying it's okay to be a scumbag as long as the people/business you are cheating are in your opinion "scum". |

I don't believe in morals or labels as they only hold a person hostage in given limits and there are plenty of moral paradoxes that will never be solved, I only use them here cause its what most people understand and surely it seems like a weak argument when put so.
However if anything the guy is only adding value to the tournament for the other players and yes i do find it justified to fuck over someone when the whole system works to his advantage and he already fucks everyone else and its not even a close decision.
Is Robin Hood envisioned as a scumbag or a hero ? Your argument obviously points in a narrow direction |

Robin hood is a work of fiction. Because of this it has the benefit of clearly defined "good" and "evil". This isn't the case irl. A real life Robin hood would be closer to criminal/murderer than a hero. |
