This is straight-up the way QQ-AA plays... They don't want to cbet flop and get shoved on only to hate life.

now i think about it, he's not folding any part of his range on the flop to my gayish bet, and he has to bluff with a lot of these?

This, though the same logic also makes a bluffraise reasonable if you think you can get away with it.
