This is the biggest pot ive won (in LHE anyway)

Id been reading Hellmuth the other day, and he was telling me not to get too into suited connectors, but i thought there were enough people in the pot to be worth the call (thats the right way to play them isnt it? lots of people in the pot?)

Anyway, decent flop thought id stay in - turn was also good for me, and river made it even better. Im not sure if i played this well, it was risky and i stood to lose my stack, but it paid off.

This seems to be the thing with Party, it felt like it was going to work, so i could raise/call on my draw. Vandorm is mental, he raises every pot pre-flop and will ALWAYS bet.

Anyway, i feel all fuzzy inside, isnt poker a fun game... :party:

RiKD    United States. Dec 28 2005 01:44. Posts 8516 For future reference, don't EVER cold call. This hand it sorta flies b/c it is a donkey family reunion, but you really shouldn't do that shit. Secondly, reading anything by phil hellmuth is probably worse then cold calling.

RiKD    United States. Dec 28 2005 03:31. Posts 8516 Cold calling can be ok on the flop when you are trying to get extra bets with a lot of ppl in the hand w/ a monster. In a big pot though you should always play agressively. You should never cold call pf though. Maybe like once a session. As I said it isn't as bad this hand b/c every single person is in on the flop and you have a sc. Hellmuth is a good tourney player just b/c he knows how to pwn the donks. He has no idea what he is doing in cash games though. My roomate had that book when I first started playing in bs home games w/ friends and skimming through it I think made me a worse player.
