So we have an optimistic 7 outs with 1 card to come, out of position Our hands needs over 5:1 implied odds to be breakeven, add in negative reverse implied odds with the times we are drawing dead and hit in addition the times he has 8x and our flush card fills him up, and you can easily see this is not a profitable spot 5:1 means we need to win over 5x our investment when we hit to be breakeven, so we have to win 5x64 = $320, to breakeven, now factor in the times we are drawing dead etc.. - given effective stacks are $400 to begin with, calling is a fundamental mistake alot of people make Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
