ok i had posted something on this hand a few minutes ago, as well as someone else....nothing is showing up now...

so to repeat:

not to be mean, but hand is ugly. never limp pf. do not overbet the flop and do not mini raise his mini raise. when he is playing back at you, he could just as easily have 54 or J7. i used to have problems like this...where i would play a hand very weak, then very strong (and vice versa) and it would haunt me.

pf you should raise to 4x bb +bb per limper. on flop you want to bet 1/2 pot to pot size....***when he raises you, and you decide to raise, it should generally be 3x his raise, so in this case, when you bet.75, he makes it 1.50, and you mini raise again to 2.25....thats bad....raise him to 4.50**** on the turn you played hand very strong, considering he raised you on flop....i would bet 3.50-4 dollars, although 5 is okay too i guess (you want to slow down on turn and river....the best players are most aggressive pf and on flop). on the river, you bet 15, i might have bet a little less....8-10 dollars. the idea is to have the range of hands you are beating call you.

luckily, he played his QJ like a nit. however, if you are at a table with some better 25nl regulars: feiticeira, tbhackworth, equnlimited, kfarg, etc. they will pick up on it. i still <3 you ninja

of course with regulars is a different story, this guy is not one.

reason i min-raised is to see where I was at and also insure he would call me and didn't want him to re-raise me all-in and be faced with a difficult decision but what happened on flop there pretty much told me I probably had the best hand from the timing tells as well coupled with the fact that I knew this guy probably does not play much poker based on how he played his past hands. Also by doing this, I am building a sense of pot commitment from him since he called so many bets. While if I had re-raised him harder, I could have chased him away which was not my goal and from his reactions to my bet I felt pretty confident I had enough information as is.

Now since he was willing to call a min-raise, min-reraise on flop i thought he would call with top pairsince turn card is a blank I bet it hard putting him on a J with a weaker kicker like 10-J-K, and as long as those cards don't come up I will keep betting hard, and since he did not re-raise me on turn here, I figured I still had the lead.

then I decided to put 15 on river thinking he would call with QJ-QK-Q10 because at this point he felt pot-commited convincing himself at the same time that I might be bluffing as all weak players like to think although I am so tight?

against a regular I probably would have re-raised more on flop and if he calls check the turn to play for a medium pot and re-evaluate on river.

this was a very unusual play with AJ by me which was very situational and why I posted it, as it was completely read based and going with my read.
