Standard river to bet/fold?

meh; I know you have some better hands you bet with that you can bet/call with but even this you cannot bet and then always fold.

You don't honestly have a ton of better hands. Better aces above 8 or 9 3bet pre, sets raise flop and are a small part of the range anyways. Then on the other hand you check/call all kinds of pairs vs that size and also probably flat a decent amount of your 8/9 out draws. So that's your perceived range for getting to the river and you can reasonably bet with just about all of it and most people probably bet too much here in general.

Then you have his perceived range; He checks back this turn so he caps himself pretty hard unless he is randomly trapping on a pretty shitty board or rivered 2pair/88. He has a very thin range for raising you in a spot where you are capped urself.

It is one of those spots where raise should be great for villain the only problem is he knows his perceived range is weak so his opponent is very likely to call the raise.

but will he do it as a bluff anyways? i run into this spot frequently hu it seems
