...I never asked for this. I got here only by accident. I’m grateful for what happened to me and yet..not fully. Am I a happier person than I’d be if I hadn’t experienced all of it ? I sometimes wish I could go back and do it differently but I can’t. I tend to think that I screwed things up and wasted my only opportunity but did I ?! Now I give myself another chance. I know - it requires more work, greater commitment and some sacrifices but I got to do this. I’m ready for it. I need it. I want it.
Some people say it’s stupid, some wish me good luck, while I truly believe I don’t need any. What I need is an honest willingness to make these dreams come true. And I believe…No! I KNOW I will reach my goals. That is what I’m aiming for and I won’t let myself stop. It is the last chance I got and I will not waste it this time.
Believe it or not – I WILL DO IT !!! I took a year off to chase my dreams and I won’t even think of stopping to take a breath till I make them real. Don’t wish me luck. I would be greatly thankful if you gave me a helping hand instead.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
Greetings,
Mike

meh it can never be a mistake to take a year off to "follow your dreams". Ofcourse after the year is over, in hindsight it will very often have turned out to be a mistake, but you'll never know that until you do it. 1 year is not so much to risk. Ofcourse if op has actually burned bridges permanently and hasn't planned any contingencies for failure in poker (statistically likely outcome) then it might be unwise, but nevertheless i respect the gamble. Risk taking is an evolutionary human trait, i like to read the stories of people who embrace it (in a smart way, not in a neilly way). and nobody likes a nit |

When it comes to the uni, I'm studying BBA in Management at Kozminski University in Warsaw. I really like it cause I've got like 11 hours of class a week which is nothing
I understand taking a year off of some time intensive tracks but c'mon... |

It was in the beginning of the first semester but later on I had to choose and attend more and more classes, do homework, make projects, write exams etc. and I couldn't focus on poker 100%. My sleeping schedule was bad - I had to wake up for morning classes and then take naps after school and I was constantly tired. I've been playing poker for more than 6 years now and I never really gave it my full effort so I decided to give it a try this year. I'm just 20 years old and it's not like I dropped out of uni, I just took one year off to see how far poker can lead me. I am going to go back to uni next year and it doesn't matter if I'm rich or broke by then. I just want to focus exclusively on poker in the next 12 months. Like Ket said, one year is not so much to risk, especially when I'm still so young. |
