Looking to sort of bounce this off of you guys, as I don't really have any experience with this.
Basically, a good friend of mine (who is my ex gf, from like 3 years ago, we haven't been romantically involved for ~2 years and I'm not looking to reignite that), has gone from a healthy weight to nearly 150% of her previous weight over a period of 4 or so years. She is overweight now, and according to BMI is on her way to being considered obese. I honestly am worried about the direction she is headed, as she has very bad eating habits/food preferences and always has.. I guess its just been kicking in since she passed ~19 years old.
Should I talk to her?
How should I approach it?
What should I NOT say? lol
Thanks for any help guys

I would tell her before the movie, dont let that bitch get popcorn and sour patch kids and a slurpee.
You have to be slick about how you say it. DO THIS. Give her a hug when you see her and say something like "I used to be able to get my hands all the way around you when we hugged, fatty" |

lol shit, if you're that worried about her a little bit of hard truth may make her hate you for a bit but she'll get that you're trying to help her. make it very clear what your intentions are: and that's not to hurt her but to help her.
No matter how you go about this depending on her personality it'll probably end bad. I mean if you run good and she has a chill personality with a fairly high self esteem she won't go apeshit. I got friends who i gave mad shit for being fat. Maybe that's why she became much thinner over the years |

Women nowadays always expect to hear what they want to hear, not what they need to hear. Pisses me off sometimes. |

The problem is that I think that she is likely to brush it off or whatever is all, she does have a really chill personality and she isn't going to get super upset. But I Guess if she wants to brush it off/let it go and not pay attention to it that's her choice. I can't make her care that she is getting to an unhealthy weight I guess.. |

Try to get her to go on a hike with you or a walk, and whenever you go out to eat with her, make sure you eat at a healthy place. Not sure how close you are or how much time you spend together, but typically if one person starts working out and eating healthy, it will get the other to. If that doesn't work, then just tell her you are concerned, but don't expect a nice outcome. |

The trick is to say something tactical that wont make it obvious ur calling her fat
"have you weighed yourself lately?" |

Researchers used brain scans to show that when straight men looked at pictures of women in bikinis, areas of the brain that normally light up in anticipation of using tools, like spanners and screwdrivers, were activated. | |

I guess that the best advice would be to ask another women, how to deal with it. |

Best advice so far if you really care about her. But you honestly can't win. Another suggestion might be to try and join a gym together, but you still can't win. Exactly how fat is she? It's not bad to be chubby, you should post some before and after pics of her. |

um...thats not definitely not going to work...the only way for a person to control their weight is by gaining some good knowledge and habits so that they take care of themselves.
