What's up LP.

I wanna start this blog by saying thank you to anyone who has commented on my hand histories, blog, or who railed me in MiniFTOPS event 1. I really appreciate it, it helps me become a better player, and I feel more "part of the community." You guys have really helped me out.

Anyways, to the updates...

I am starting to move up to NL10 rush. My bankroll now sits at 510$ and I feel good about my chances to succeed at the new limit. At NL10 I have noticed more 3betting blind v button which for someone who steals all the time is a little frustrating, but I am working on

a.) looking at stats before I steal (thinking twice before stealing from 11% 3bet)
b.) stealing with hands that at least have some equity post flop

My NL5 results are as such...

I feel like the limit is pretty much beaten for now. Maybe I'll have to go back, and honestly part of me wants to stay there because I feel very comfortable grinding it, but with 50 buyins for NL10, I need to push myself and move up.
----------------------
The second part of this update is about miniFTOPS Event #1! I made a deep run (came in 153rd) and made 173$, which is pretty gay compared to how much I could have made, but not a bad score for a NL5 grinder. Obviously I had luck when I needed it, but I also feel like up until the last 30 minutes of the tournament I was playing very solid.

Last year I played event #10 and was making a deep run until this hand so in my mind I've had success in these big MTTs. Granted it's only two of them, but I've also had a deepish run in the Super Stack $6000 guarantee. I feel like I preform best with a super stack as opposed to a normal 1500 starting stack.

Looking at my sharkscope, it's pretty obvious I have concentration issues but I've been learning a lot about stealing and restealing and yesterday I felt very comfortable playing around the bubble. . Regardless, it was exciting for me to have a run at a decent payout. Also, playing with Scott Fischman was fun too. Lucky he was on my right, and lucky he wasn't too active.

The one thing I did do that was a big BIG BIG mistake was invite my friends over to rail me. They were such faggots. Individually I'm sure they all would have been serious, but they came to rail me and ended up just being annoying and not helpful. Granted they don't really play poker, but it still sucked. Definitely helped me lose my concentration and drive near the end of the tournament. Next time I will try harder, learn from my mistakes, and hopefully do a better job. As of now I'm thinking about what other event to play...
------------------------------------------------------
Anyways, that's it for now. Does anyone have any advice for NL10 rush? Nl10 in general? Poker in general? lol. I've been trying to study a lot.

Thanks for reading LP.

The best thing for me around 50nl was when I upped my 3b % by 3-4% more.

It's quite easy (like everything else when you learn it).

When you want to 3b, look at the position where the guy is in, if he's a regular, you generally never want to do it when he's early. If he's late, and you're in the blinds, he's like co, or btn, do it with a polarized range. That means 80% real hands, and 20% AIR (notice that AJ, KT, so forth, have a lot of value, so you don't want to 3b those, rather call).

And each time it's someone really loose, or bad, someone you see as a fish, then 3b not only with your top hands, do it with your High cards in general, + top hands.

Hope that helps, oh and if you 3b with air, get called, Generally fire if an ace hits, or a Q maybe, don't fire if it's a King in general, that's SMACK in a tight guy's range, they usually have a K or a medium pair if they call on the btn and ur in the blinds and tried to steal with air.

Ok, that's it for now =p

Oh, and vs the "bad" people, you DON'T want to use a polarized range, only do it with legit hands, because they are "fish" and stations, so there's no need for balance, or stealing, just want value.

rofl yeah I probably came off as harsh there. I guess I just felt frustrated at the end because my friends said they were "rooting" for me, but really, they just distracted me, were loud and only chimed in when I was all in to say "ohhhhhh dude why did you do that?!" or some stupid bs. :/. I love my friends, I guess I'm just more upset at not being able to make a deeper run.

Also, thanks Jolin and Marius. I'll think about that stuff. Still working on getting better. ^^

Marius when you say 3bet more, do you mean generally in all positions? Or just from the blinds? Where do you 3bet light from?

solid NL 5 winner. GL at NL 10 its tougher and you'll run into set over set coolers a lot more.

don't change automatically change ur play whenever you sit at a nl10 table, its still the same game of poker.

you should be looking to 3bet more in position than out (so 3bet from btn and CO vs loose CO/MP openers)

ur nl5 graph is very nice

i'd say prob 3bet from the sb more(if ever you should feel like 3betting oop) since it looks so strong (polarize with aa/kk/ak and scs blah blah since ul be playing at the worst position postflop)
anything else id say 3bet a lot more ip and mostly 3bet oop for value or sometimes , very rarely for some of the mentioned above

also 3bet from bb/sb from very loose c/o button opens who fold very frequently to 3bets - vs these guys cards dont even matter that much.

If it's a rly bad guy (1 table, loose vip). I 3b from anywhere, or isolate.

Vs regulars, I generally don't 3b them when they utg and utg +1

If im btn and they are bad, I 3b high cards vs bad ppl as well, if they regular, I call with hands like KQ AQ AJ instead, because virtually every good regular at 50nl to 200nl, they won't call 3b out of position, they will fold or 4b, and when they fold, it's a stubborn medium pair or a K. And you have to find out if you can double barrel get them off if they call, or if they call, hope to spike and fold to C bet.

In the blinds, and it's a reg/tight guy, i usually look at their steal %, if it's over their VIP, it means they open a lot wider in late position, so then I 3b more with air vs them, and if it's BAD people at the table, I show the hand each time, because they don't get it, they just see me re raising with crap, so when I do it to them, they love to keep calling. (But vs them you never do it with air)

Something like that is my thinking on 3betting
