since this year i have been steadily gaining weight around the gut area, ive been fat before when i was like 14 then went thin and fit for like 10 years. i know how to lose weight, but it seems since poker and turning past 35 it feels impossible to stop gaining weight. ive heard of p90x and thinking of any exercise machine i can buy, any suggestions guys? i just wanna be fit and dont care if im not "healthy", its bad lol but just wanna fit in my pants again and not keep wearing track pants everday. suggestions thx

I think it'd be easy to change your diet and eat a little lighter. Cut down on snacking. Get a some crunches in, every little bit helps.

anything thats really hard to do but can deliver results faster? lifting weights is what im thinking now, i cant run for shit due to all these cigarettes im wolfing down each day

suggest u find someone to workout with u coz ull lose that motivation fast. p90x is pretty hardcore, prolly not for everyone

Eating Habits:
Eat stuff with more protein, it is hard for your body to break down, it increases your metabolism.
Instead of eating 3 big meals each day, cut it down to eating 5 little meals each day.

Working out:
p90x is good
Go to the gym, do weight lifting. Then you will start tearin up your muscles, and for your body to repair them requires a lot of calories.

It's all a math equation.

If you consume more calories than you burn, you get fatter and vise versa.

losing weight is 80% diet 20% exercise

eat till your 60-75% full and eat slowly even if now you require 4 meals a day
when you do exercise like running try and push yourself to 85% capacity for about 3-5 minutes and then continue to run 30-50% for the next 15. this speeds up your bodies metabolism in general and also stresses your body more so. the larger the stress the larger the reaction from your body. in this shoot up metabolism/lose weight. 25 minutes of hit (high intensity training) or sprint training is vastly superior to 1 hour of moderate exercise in my opinion.

also when you go to the gym understand that there is no substitute for hard work. there's no reason to feel lost or embarrassed or do exercises half heartedly. as long as you're spent at the gym it doesn't matter what exercise you do, it's a good work out. going to the gym and walking around and taking it easy is a big waste of time.

you can develop bulimia or you can cut down on smoking and start running.
intense cardio is pretty much the key for weightloss, lifting weights is a supplement because you will easily burn out on cardio alone.

just do not eat 3-4 h before u go to bed, never have a nap after ur meal, drik 0.5 of water before each meal, start eating a semiBIG breakfast , eat chicken , swin, squash , badminton + ofc SEX , gl

eat one large meal before bed, drink alcohol everyday, doctors recommend a glass of red wine, but i usually just have a 6 pack of beer instead im sure its just as good.

also get wii fit.

for your goal it would be most efficient to just do cardio. do it everyday or almost every day. you can do biking, walking/running. you dont need to be able to run for shit because there is no need to tire yourself out. you are not trying to gain endurance but specifically LOSE weight.

for males the most efficient way to do this is by doing cardio exercise. try to do an hour but you only need to do it at a low hearth rate.

60%-70% of your maximum hearthrate is IDEAL to BURN FAT.


Q: How to determine maximum heart rate?
A: You can define your maximum heart rate by

1) having it measured in an exercise test

2) using age-predicted maximum heart rate formulas.

1) Measured Max HR

The most accurate way of determining your individual maximum heart rate is to have it clinically tested (usually by treadmill stress testing) by a cardiologist or exercise physiologist. You can also measure it in field conditions supervised by an experienced coach. If you are over the age of 35, overweight, have been sedentary for several years, or have a history of heart disease in your family, clinical testing is recommended.

2) Predicted Maximum HR There is a mathematical formula that allows you to predict your Max HR with some accuracy. It is called the "age-adjusted formula". The age-adjusted Max HR formula can come in very handy when you're not prepared to pay for the physician-supervised stress test.

WOMEN: 226-your age = age-adjusted Max HR
MEN: 220-your age = age-adjusted Max HR

im thinking about just buying a treadmill and do some crunches and dumbells for obv upper body things. dont really need a perfect form but how im shaped now is looking to deteriorate really bad if i dont start doing shit lol
