Previously i had a standard office chair, but this was fairly uncomfortable and my dad had a Herman Miller Aeron in the room next door to my bedroom so i kept stealing that for my poker sessions. I finally decided that i needed to buy myself a nice chair as an investment for poker. I did some pretty extensive research and it seems the Embody (The supposed Successor to the Aeron) is the most well thought out and designed chair.

Was difficult to find anywhere selling them in the UK, and even when i did i had to wait 8 weeks to have it shipped in from america. It finally arrived yesterday and already i can tell its going to be worth it. The chair is very comfortable but more importantly it "forces" you into a good sitting position. Im currently sitting completely upright with good posture and its not remotely uncomfortable, its more comfortable to sit like this than slouch even. Considering it comes with a 12 year warranty the price tag really doesnt feel that steep anymore. I think without all the extras u cud prolly get one for like $1200 or something.

The fact that the chair itself looks awesome is an added bonus!

Couple quick pics:

Anyone considering a new chair id honestly advise splashing a few extra buyin's and getting an embody, especially if you are a professional grinder.

probably one of the most important things you can spend money on if you're at the computer a lot

check your warranty is valid in the UK though as most likely its US/CA

if poker is dangerous to them i would rank sports betting as a Kodiak grizzly bear who smells blood after you just threw a javelin into his cub - RaiNKhAN

If it forces you to get good posture i guess its worth it. My chair sucks, thanks for forcing me to buy a new one (although its unlikely it will cost £1k)

Out of curiosity, how much do you make a month to be able to buy this chair? I noticed you only posted hands from NL100. Seems like you must be doing sick good if you can buy a chair like this. Grats! :D

A comfortable computer chair would be nice. I probably need a desk first though. atm I sit on a stool in front of my laptop, which is set up on the night stand beside my bed. Pretty baller huh?

you can get a comfortable chair for 50$-300$ and in a shop at least u can try it out. i mean u ordered a chair that u havent sat in before....its like ordering shoes on the internet

everybody says herman millers are sick though
i don't really like the look, think it's pretty ugly
but i'm guessing it seats pretty nice =)

tbh i was worried about the fact i never sat in it before too, the only way for me to test it was to actually go into central london (effort) and make an appointment and since i work full time cba wasting my weekend on that.

took a bit of a gamble (not so much a gamble since every review on this chair rates it as "the best chair ever" basically). but yea its nice

as for how much i earn its not much... this is like a full month of poker on the chair. consierged it with points coz im a 24 tabling fpp machine so its all good.

and agreed with conser (ffs why u change name from ggplz its so much easier to type)... a chair is a really under-thought out piece of equipment. If you play poker you are sitting in a chair for HOURS and HOURS every single day, and since a good quality chair is an investment that will last for years i think its being silly to not get a good chair...

its not only about comfort, a lazyboy is comfortable but you don't wanna play poker for 8hrs in a lazyboy.
