You should totally just vacation the last of your time there. Do one of the treks. That's what we wanted to do but didn't have time. A lot of those northern mountain people were originally from Tibet but migrated there hundreds of yrs ago. You can go hang out with ancestors of Penpa's people!
The last 3 weeks of our trip we were stuck with no bud so we had to drink if we partied at all. Totally sucked. Alcohol is such a fail. You gotta drink so much to get anything outta it (or pay shitloads for quality stuff) and then if you don't keep pouring it down you sober up quite quickly too. Add in all the next day drama (hangover, regret, etc) and it's such a fail compared with smoking up.

Yeah I'm going like 95% vacation. I am kind of in a weird spot though because I can't see a damn thing (lost my glasses) and that really detracts from doing anymore trekking and such. I've just spent a ton of time playing videogames since I can still see a monitor like within 2 foot of my face, haha, still I'd rather be y'know, seeing the world.. I should be getting contacts from the US shipping in on the 26th though so if my eyes like them I will make sure I spent those last 4 days or what not doing interesting stuff.
In feb I visited 3 hill tribes on a trek with Barry.. it was awesome indeed.
Drinking also results in the easy flow of $$$ from my pockets hahaha. I guess I do have to give alcohol credit for making meeting and chatting with random people way easier. |
