buy-in leak?

I don't know if this is a leak, as I'm really noob, so when I started playing NL2 and NL4 I sat with the maximum buy-in, which in NL2 and NL4 is $5 and idk but maybe you can tell me if it's wrong to sit with more than 100BB on FR games, because of the implied odds I'm giving and welcoming players to call me with pp and setmine because my buy-in makes it a correct play most of the time, and so with similar situations.

I know some experienced players like to be as deep as possible, so maybe not a leak for them, but for a new player is this bad or just paranoia?

thanks in advance.

If the other players are not deep as well then they have no implied odds since the effective stacks are only what they have in front of them. So its not like they can have implied odds but you cannot.

Play deep at these stakes everyone sucks.

Well you can just adjust if they start calling 3bets to setmine (ie. 3bet a ton and cbet a lot).

It depends how good you are playing deep. If you're not comfortable then maybe don't buy in deep.

it's probably not a good idea to buyin with more than 100bb as a beginner because the vast majority of sources you're learning poker from are adressing how to play 100bb poker.

you give them odds to setmine and stuff, but you can reduce their odds with your play. just try to learn where not to pay off.

I sat in with 100 bb when i worked myself up the stakes. more bb-s will make it more complicated but that is just me.

yea its not wrong, infact if u think u have an edge you want to sit with as much money as possible.

BUT, the deeper you are, the more difficult the decisions you will face. Since your goal should be to learn to play rather than make financial gain, your probably going to be best sitting with 100bb so you don't spew too much.

if you don't want people set mining you just make your open raise size 6bb from utg, 5 from utg+1 ect, lowering open raise size until you get to the button where it's not worth them setmining you because you open wide.

i think 6bb open size from utg is optimal at nl2 FR

also hopefully you'll be finding out if they have setmined you before the pot is 100bb in size due to your good hand reading skills.

Meh, a 3bb or a 6bb raise probably isnt really going to matter that much at NL2. Raising too large is going to force you to play tighter since you cant afford to keep losing pots postflop when you dont connect. Fish are going to call you regardless of your bet size, so keep your raise sizing in a range suitable for getting stacks in by the river, whilst not over-committing yourself to every hand.

Rather than buying in for less, you should play a limit you can win at and buy in for more. If you arent winning at NL2 then it's time to hit the drawing board and fix whatever isnt working for you.

bye now

i think buyin deep in this stakes is the best thing u can because people dont really realize about it and most of the guys that play with $5 will stack off with JJ/TT vs ur AA/KK for 250bbs preflop so u gotta take advantage of that, also, when people have more money in front of them they tend to make spewy calls post flop and you can value bet hard and they will still pay off
