even supernova is overrated
u get the same %rakeback at ftp or other sites if you are not sne , i have been sn for 3 years averaging like 300kvpp a year which is like low/medium grinder level, now i play ftp/eurodonk and i feel rb > sn , i play less hands at more juicy tables (people at other sites basically give more action ldo)
for medium volume players, i think the quality of games (extremely nitty-as-fuck games, fish to reg ratio), the constant pressures to do specific hand goals (which is complete horseshit), and the extremely similar benefits of rakeback ( without the stupid receipt concierge hassles every month), stars is really not a good site to "grind".
You do miss out on milestones which is a lot of value, but if u factor in eveything esp the number of hands you forcibly play , u actually pay mostly for milestones as well (in the raked hands you do)and only like 10% in value overall, but is really miserable for people who just 6 to 8 table to "chase" milestones. its a very solid marketing tool, very brilliant.
i would recommend playing stars if you can :
-crush the games obv
-just purely fpp proing nitbotting and going for sne ( youd be surprised how fucking hard it is when u start clocking in -50buyin months doing this) your ptr will be shit and have quite a miserable poker career, profits are not guaranteed doing this fyi, i have seen some not so bad players lose money even
-going for SNE and not just sn
all in all learning to play and improve and utilizing and falling in love with stars vpp deathgrip system is everything that is wrong with online poker, it makes you conscious and value things that you shouldn't be worrying about and your game and mindset suffers a lot. its definitely not for the majority of poker players, but i admire people who are sick grinders and making a lot from this. i wouldnt recommend it though. |
