im still a noob, sure, but i just cant advance on this 1cent/2cent tables. it's been over 2 months now and i'm back to the $20 i started on 0_o.
like im following good advice, playing really tight, betting properly, doing well, but then i just get brought back down because of how ridiculous these tables are.
my friend started the same way I did and got up to $150, but he's back down to $90 because of absolutely insane players 0_o.
iono, i dont understand what im doing wrong. i understand people have bad runs and my case is really petty compared to real players -- but i just cant be wasting this much time you know?
this is more of a rant, but any input would be appreciated. am i starting out the wrong way? should I deposit more money into my account?

If you really wanted to put more money in your account it'd have been for 100$ to play nl5 but still even with that you will find some of absolutely retarded players.
The only thing that worked was to NEVER bluff ever. Even if you know this guy has really nothing, he'll always call. With that in mind, you always try to valubet your strong hands, and if they call then don't hesitate to overbet especially sets. |

if you can't beat 2nl, I don't see the point of trying to deposit more money so you can play higher.
It's the easiest limit there is, make sure you aren't making big mistakes.
Your gameplan for 2nl should be play tight, bet for value, don't bluff. Follow those three things and you should be destroying those stakes. |

yeah i play like 20% or less of my hands, and i never chase
i bet strong preflop if i get a great hand, and follow the pack when I have a low pair ( i get most of money from those).
then i continue to bet strong when i hit the flop, no tricks or slow playing -- just bet the pot (or go all in when appropriate). and it just seems people call me with junk and proceed to take my money =/
maybe i am doing something wrong, iono. like if I have aces and 8 7 2 rainbow comes up on the flop I'll bet pot, but do I go all in to a re-raise? i think i lose a lot in situations like that ( i usually go all in after they re-raise).

20% of your hands is way too much. post your stats.
AA on 872 is very opponent dependent. vs nits and nl2 regs you can probably let it go. vs fish its usually fine to get it in, but you have to be careful vs passive fish.
but yea post stats and hand histories and stuff, no one can help you without anymore info. |

we talk about NL2... nl2 regs? oh please - those get it in light enough to not let AA go there 99% of the time IMO |

If you're on stars, you can buy in for 250BB (5$) at the the 1/2 cent tables. That's pretty ridiculous, especially considering how everyone there calls too much. So just limp in every time you have a pocket pair or suited connectors, and make massive bets if you flop a set or straight/flush. |
