Ive been playing for over a year now and I have nothing to show for it. The high point in my bankroll was over 8 months ago and since then I've never been over $1500. Part of me wonders if this game is just some unreal dream I'll never experience and I think lately that is becoming more and more apparent, especially with so many mid stakes players experiencing the biggest lows in their careers and shit. I realize a year is nothing if you ever want to be successful at anything, but I'm not asking to be the best, I just want to be a winner.
I've made a promise to myself. If my bankroll is not over $2,000 by January 1st, 2010 I will quit poker and never look back.

if you are in it for the money, it would probably be in your best interest to learn 45man SNGs for the lower stakes ($6 are the softest things ever) |

that's sad man. but on the brighter side, you're still young and poker might be just a part of your life but not really for you. treat it like a bad relationship, give it all you got one last time, then let it go and move on to better things if things still don't work out. gl |

Poker is great hobby...you don't have to be a pro player to play it.
Also poker is something...that has no real point to it. Not really a career thing. I used to idolize Rekrul and Elky and other SC-turned-Poker players but now its like "What are they up to? Still playing poker."
No offense to anyone, not saying everyone has to cure cancer or anything. |
