anyone got any advice on what kind of features you need on an hdtv to play uhh, ps3? im really really confused cuz i see that you can get like freaking 36 inch ones for 3k + and yet u can find 50+ inch for like 2k, so i guess the features are really, really important?

is 120hz necessary for ps3? what kind of contrast ratio is good? aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh

pick up an lcd hdtv with 1080P as is PEEEEEEEEEE, 120hz is not really necessary cause i think all ps3 games run on 60hz and so do bluerays

I will grind you into dust.

the first bit of stuff that i found on 120hz vs 60hz that seems to make some sense is that apparently movies run in 24 fps and regular television is 30fps, and 120 divides 24 and 30 but 60 doesnt, so it makes some things easier on the hardware? or something? but yeah, by the looks of it for gaming it doesnt seem to have any difference. the ms response time and the actual hardware itself will determine how smooth gaming is i suppose

LCD 1080 120hz....I bought a 46 in Sony Bravia two weeks ago from Best Buy with these specs and got a free Blue Ray but since you have PS3 I guess that wouldn't be of interest. NO PLASMA NO 720p....they suck monkey balls

heard the diff between 720p and 1080 on smaller sets is almost indistinguishable. that 1080 is only worth the extra cost when u get a larger screen (like 50inch+). As far as i know, LCDs generate less heat, use less power, and arent susceptible to image burn, but plasmas have better color accuracy, better motion tracking, and a better contrast ratio.. /shrug.

Get a 1080p TV and also check forums. Input lag is the keyword to look for if you want to use it for gaming.
