NL10's FR has been nice, the low variance feels so good after a year of crazy variance play, i could get used to this nit ring lol

I consider myself a FR player again, I'll play PLO when the games are juicy and I'm in the mood to player higher variance, but not anytime in the near future. (want atleast 60bi for PLO, don't want a 10-40bi DS to put me on supermegatilt when I can easily avoid the game until I'm sufficiently rolled for it, its not even that fun or much more profitable, as well as my PT can't track it), 18-max tabling is also fun, way less marginal situations

:: edit :: I'm going to treat omaha the same as HU and only play 1 limit lower than my current limit, changing my guide now to re-inforce later, the variance has beaten me down and I will not allow it again.

The only downfall is i'm havin motivation problems since i'm on nl10...its kinda hard to sit and put in a good 5+ hour session, my last 3 sessions add up to like 3-4 hrs

so heres my chart of nl10 so far, mind you i'm playing 20+ tables 95% of the time so I avoid a few marginal situations here and there that I could potentially win more bb/100 more if I were playing less tables, but max tables is way more profitable obv

I'm also gonna stress that I took off fast tables, and having pokerstars not fold aces cuz I took 2 seconds too long making a decision on another table, has really improved my play and comfort at the table.

I'm not playing fast tables anymore anywhere, I think its ridiculous and will only do it when there aren't enough games going on and I'll play less tables to make up for it and seperate the fast from the normal speed tables on different monitors.

OK heres my graph so far, played 4 days, 1 long session and a few 1-2 hour sessions

Redline winning @ NL10 is fun

I'm going to post graphs with my blogs for now instead of stats which were generally for my own purposes to see where I was playing on a day to day basis with the results I had.

K guys I'm off for the night,
Tomorrow I want to get a nice session in and close the gap to NL25

Ryan

neilly. you are like, by far, one of the best players on this site. the main reason i even joined liquidpoker is because i heard of your incredible success. i heard you did poorly in your first two years, but then made an amazing profit last year, even playing 5knl!!!!!!

i've heard you've had a couple degenerate problems in the past, but at least this time you mean to correct those issues. and of course, a man can only screw up a couple times before he realises he's a true star and starts to shine

goooooood luck neilly!!!! i'm rooooooting for you!! chooo choooooooooooooo

In the past I was always blasting for 5k scores and cashing out, then when I had alot saved I was just tryin to run it up ridiculously, I was so retarded and chasing the thrill of what I could win in a short span instead of looking at what I can make monthly / yearly

a two year grinder turned one year hu specialist / blaster finds his way back to the grind is whats really happened here, and the grind is the only way to go, although i'm happy i took the year for hu etc, although i did put myself in some tough spots life wise because of it, because now if/when I FT a big tournament I can be very confident to win the tournament instead of just shooting for top two/three

Also my flop plays improved 10 fold or close to it from all the hands of HU, and some breaks I took last year helped me break things down in my head that I was missing at the table, as well as thinking about my strategies more

I'm now confident that when I have a large roll I can enter $100+ events and have a good chance to win them

Are you double barreling nits and check raising with draws? Set mining? 3betting light?

NeillyJQ   United States. Jan 16 2009 07:44. Posts 8947

i kinda do it all by feel of opponent, his range, my range, board texture, etc

i don't 3b light too often since im 20+ tabling, maybe 2-3%

wow this is either a sick nice level or pure missinformation

I mean i like neilly and all and he is not horrible bad at poker.
But saying he is good at poker is a joke.
He is a winner at NL100 HU thats all ( he hasnt beaten anything besides that for a reasonable sample)

He played Nl5K with a 12K roll ...

everthing at your post is either very nice level or missinformation

btw go neilly

U see what i did there with A8 ? He 4 bets and there we go insta jam A8 : ---booooom -- . hahahaha ( Krantz)

i have a lots of respect for your honnesty..posting your downswing..facing bad day but still hoping to crush the game..and you will
you have amazing skill in tourney ,sng..hu game holdem and with a good tilt management you will reach defin your goal..

but concerning omaha and " now"
i don t think that you will beat any plo reg in 6 max 025-50 , 050-1,1-2
i don t think that you are ready to play heads up either with a reg..you might win few flips but in a long session you will probably end with a lil swing, but hey who is invulnerable..
the games is complexe , analyze , i should say "psychoanalyse" your hand history , and follow a reasonable goal..
gl ryan.

ps no need to make an " ego answer . won t be pertinently enough to me,
just take it as a friendly advice.."

I was playing poker with tarot cards the other night. I got a full house and four people died. WTF...welcome to finland...Last edit: 16/01/2009 09:18
