Depending upon whether or not your built your system, there should be a recovery disc that does all that for you. If you had your system custom built then you will have to do a bit more work like finding drivers/apps. and whatnot.

The HP's are fine, I almost bought one, but I settled on a 24" gateway monitor as I found for roughly the same price you got a lot better quality and it's aesthetically pleasing as well. The gateway came with more hookups for inputs. But as far as 900 compared to like 15-1600, might as well get the HP just for sheer size of the screen. HP are great quality as well. You should be very pleased.

you can make a recovery disc in vista. very easy to do thru a gui step by step. just go to start menu and look for it somewhere there.

but i dont want a recovery disk. i want to clear my computer of everything on it, and restore it to factory settings w/o a disk since i believe it is @ college and i would have to go there to get it.

when the computer starts press F11 and CTL at the same time. It will bring you to the reboot page, you want to choose the one with that says reboot to factory defaults. this should remove all your old files and restore your compture to how it came when u got it.
