I like your list. I definitely struggle with these same things and I'm trying to implement some of your same ideas in my sessions right now. Tough sometimes, but its helping.

5. I will play thinking poker. I will not play my B game at my current stakes. If I really feel like playing poker, but am tired or agitated I will play at a lower stake which I know myself to be capable of destroying with my B game/C game/ Whatever.
this is silly, just go watch porn or something
playing your B game at lower stakes will just let bad habits creep back into your A game |
|
Im only good at poker when I run good

the thing i started doing is not thinking of $, only thinking of ev...and if i tilted i dont play free hands...i just shut my computer and go watch tv or go to the gym...i dont even think of playing
you want to train yourself so when you get the feeling b4 you tilt ( you need to identify that feeling ) you are trained to stop and go do something |

same.
it's definitely good to realised these points though, and hopefully you're able to cut down on tilt/spew somewhat, even if not completely |

One day good. One day bad. And some days, even hope

Its re-assuring to know that this is such an issue for everyone because its definitely far and away my biggest leak. Good to know it was a problem for someone of staate's caliber too.
I think I'm definitely going to start cutting my sessions shorter to combat this, and try to avoid playing on auto-pilot. Especially after taking alot of bad beats, coolers, or even just running card dead for long periods of time. Sometimes I get into this mode where I try to win every pot, and/or I can't fold marginals, and aside from bad beats thats where allll the losses come from. |

straate is a pimp.
Narious, really good post and you've pretty much covered it. Saying it and doing it though are two different things, I hope you can accomplish it. I know I mostly did, I still have some tilt moments but they are very rare and they are usually just one or two misplayed hands in the whole session due to tilt (because I quit immediatly afterwards when I notice it)
you can definitely do it |
|
fuck I should just sell some of my Pokemon cards, if no one stakes that is what I will have to do - lostaccount

3. I will never look at my cashier window/balance while I am playing.
|
My biggest leak ;o
When im focused on tables ( 8 tabling most of times ) I can play my A game and basically even earn 2-3 BI per hour..
But as soon as I look on cashier I always go on 'happy tilt' aka "IM JUGGERNAUT BITCH I GOTTA HAVE THE BEST HAND HERE ".
That makes me lose $ $ $ which is not terrible.
Gl fixing those, that list looks very reasonable. |

i have the cashier, tilt and play long long sessions and i also have moments where im thinking of bills, problems and shit while playing. i also think about money while playing, well ive just gotten sick and tired of all this after a year of doing it, i know i will be doing it again and what really helps when i do these things? after a year, i started paying myself weekly, like a salary of some sort, nothing big just around 2bi a week(lol) now im always excited of seeing my little salary account growing in my c2p debit card and i dont even get that affected by my bankroll when i lose a chunk, i just think that im not wasting my time sitting on my ass. believe me it helps paying yourself first for your time and energy wasted, makes u feel sooo much better. since then i feel that ive been playing more smartly and consistently. one more thing, never ever put your rakeback in your account, consider it as your monthly salary! peace
p.s. i also think im the juggernaut when running well lololol |

I do the exact same thing lol. Not only that but two days ago, I started playing mad sngs that were way over my bankroll. I play 50NL and started just going crazy with 33+3 and 50+5 sngs and lost 500+ in about 3-4 hrs. But yeah this list will definately help you and I should follow it as well. GL man |
