A few thoughts. |

So I’ve been playing NL100 for a few more sessions. People make much more moves on this level and I’ve started to use 2nd barrel and even 3rd barrel at after a somewhat big procent of my pre-flop raises. I feel that I’m much harder to run over now and that’s nice. I’m also starting to suspect that I’m givning away some kind of timingtell because I’m not getting any action on my big hands even though I contbet a huge amount of the time. It’s not flopdependant either because it’s both when I hit something like A74 rainbow with AK and when I hit 699 with 66. I think that I’ll make sure to wait like 5 secounds with every bet after the flop from now on. I’ll need to learn to go with my read too. I’ve been right when I’ve been thinking that “ok, it’s only XXX to call for XXX but most he probably has me beat” and called anyway, which sucks. I’ll probably try to go more with my reads from now on and also make sure to make some unorthodox plays from time to time. With any luck that’ll give me an edge. I’m break-even so far on NL100 this week and my goal is to be a winning player within a week or two.

Just a word of advice. I always go bananas when I recently have moved up to a new limit. They play feels much more agressive and I almost shit myself trying to "keep up" with the agression. Dont overdo it like me. Yes, the games are a bit more agressive but just stay calm and execute selective agression. You dont have to fire second or third barrels to beat 100nl for a good amount of money. Chill out, play tight and get comfortable with the limit. |

ok, thanks. I'm more or less breakeven after like 5-6 hours of 4-tabeling so I'm not getting pwned at least. I was down like 500, of which maybe half was stupid 3-5 outers and the rest things I fucked up by calling too much, getting run over by certain regs and such but I made almost all of it back with a good run of cards later. Now when you say it it might just be that since some players are really aggressive the whole limit feels different. Guess I shouldn't overcompensate. Thanks, that probably saved me a few hours of playing bad.
Also, the retardation-level seems kinda high. People do some pretty stupid things from time to time. I guess that it is very beatable if one just plays solid, don't fuck up the odds to much and don't do obviously stupid things. Feels good. |
