How come my laptop plays youtube, hulu, crunchyroll, netflix without getting hot, but the instant i open twitch streams my laptop decides to turn into a portable heater?
it's all flash tho right?

I've noticed this in general, my video card fan turns on sometimes when I watch twitch, but not for the above mentioned(even 1080p mkv's). Not sure what the fix is, maybe try a different browser |

flash is underlying technology all the players are built on but the players themselves are distinct. My theory would be that since you are streaming stuff in real time they have less time to compress the feed efficiently so the clients cpu has to do more work to decompress. I'd be curious to see if you get the same performance his watching live streams on another site (not youtube because google has baller HTML5 Compression algos) I actually worked on an internet television site so I should know more about this stuff lol xD |
