what does it mean to be an adult these days?

too much of a subjective term
some think as early as the age of 13, maybe even earlier
and then you have 25 and then even later
then there's getting a job and getting your own place
then there's starting a family, regardless if you have a job
can girls even be true adults? what about guys?

i think it's when eating at mcdonalds starts to feel like more of a fail than a win

i'm 26 and still go to mcdonalds just for the toy

some people believe it is immoral to reproduce, some people elect to not make a family but do not think it immoral to do so.
so that can't be criteria for being an adult. Isaac Newton died a virgin, invented calculus. Was he never an adult?
Nikola Tesla died a virgin, he abstained from sex his entire life, he felt it would take away from his work.
J Edgar hoover, died a virgin, many people believed he was gay, he lived with his mother most of his adult life, he was also the first director of the FBI. So you are saying the director of the FBI is not an adult?

i would. he has never gone through the passage that is the loss of innocence. he would become a 13 year old boy, even while president, at the sight of a naked woman standing in front of him, both alone in a room.

It means your pretty much alone, fending for yourself.

when you start to understand how the world works and how people are. around age 20-30. so age 25. When you have you own ideals and stop letting people tell you stuff instead they advise you. when you know what type of person you are, whats your moral ground on right and wrong. when you understand why there are certain types of people in this world and why they are that way and why you are the way you are.

As if a woman's body has the power to change you. When I had sex for the first time it was utterly disappointing and it didn't make me help become an adult in any possible way. Sure navigating relationships with women will help you grow, but going through life and hardships will make you face similar problems and give you the same strenght of character necessary to become a mature adult.
Another example would be tibetan buddhist monks also practice celibacy, and they are commonly regarded as one of the wisest groups of people on Earth.

In short, women and sex are overrated and take away much of your energies. If you want them in your life that's cool and normal, but if you don't you aren't really missing out anything exceptional.

take responsibility for yourself and any others who rely on you, act decently, fulfil the social contract

Yeah, I remember reading about how those monks were playing games of 1m/2m while passing around hookers and drugs. This may have been in Japan, but would also think the tibetans are capable.

one monk slapped an english teacher here in Thailand a few weeks back for no reason, lol
monks do not act like monks in real life
