Yesterday we went to the hospital, my girlfriend was supposed be in surgery today. The doctor comes into the room and tells her that someone's fucked up and that his opinion is that if they do the surgery it'll probably just do more damage then good. The reason someone fucked up is that the last bloody doctor at the same hospital decided to put down a diagnosis without even looking at the X-rays. When I heard that, while I up to a minute ago was under the impression that my gf finally, after about 10 years of pain, would get her back fixed, wasn't very fun.

Did I mention that we had to kill of her damaged (edit: according to the vet the horse was no longer "fit to ride" due to a damaged knee that was only getting worse) horse since we could not find anyone she really trusted to take care of the horse for a few weeks while she recovered from surgery? Oh, and that apparently someone has to hold the horse while they kill it? Guess who had to do that? I don't even like horses, but it's still no fun to do that stuff. It shouldn't have felt as much as it did to take care of it though, I am from a butcher's family after all. I'm getting all sensitive and stuff at my old age. Anyway, I kind of liked that horse despite it being, well, a horse.

RIP horse, you where a weird little bastard but I kind of liked you anyway.

We've got another appointment in a few days. She's probably get her surgery in a month or so, good thing I had yet to buy any tickets for Christmas. I guess we'll spend it here, with my mother in law, rather then in Budapest or something fun like that. I'm bloody annoyed. Called my dad, ranted and explained that I wasn't sure wtf I'd do if there's another fuck up. He told me he'd visit me in jail. I like my dad.

im sure the horse is happier dead than to be away from your gf for 2 weeks, hope she doesnt apply that logic 2 u if you break a leg or something, shit.

ouch back surgery... I suffer from alot of back pains b/c of my curved spine, but I don't think I could ever go through back surgery. it's a really hardcore process. thinking about it makes me feel nauseous; you're left with a giant scare across your spine, and metal implanted in your back.

I dont know what a dt drop is. Is it a wrestling move? -OlyLast edit: 10/10/2013 00:02

Oh I've stopped googling translations until I actually see them start the damn thing. They were going to create more space for some nerve by removing a part of something but as I understood it they will now do that and stabilize a disc by making sure that one of the discs can't move around.

Basically a disc seems to have a fair amount of damage on it and when it moves around all kinds of bad shit happens.

Well according to the vet the horse was no longer "fit to ride" and the knee was only getting worse so it'd be in too much pain to keep alive very soon anyway.

Yeah im sorry i wrote that, that must have been hard holding it.

DustySwedeDude   Sweden. Oct 10 2013 00:45. Posts 8623

yea np, I wrote a long post first then I messed up the editing and deleted a bunch of stuff (it's like 7am in Swe now, so I wrote it at 4.30 or so). It's probably not very clear.

have you tried the teeter method? It inverts you upside down and uses gravity too realign your spine adn decompress your disccs naturally.

Killing horse was right thing to do, they are built for speed. Keeping him alive and immobile would be worse than death, and I dont mean that in some cutesy noble manner. If he cant run his body will emaciate and he'll just die a slow painful death anyway.

Anyway, have you considered bringing your girlfriend to the USA for her doctors/surgery? Not like you cant afford it.

bye now

Considered private alternatives in Sweden, right now the plan is:

Talk to the people on Friday, see what they say. If we get surgery within a month or so we'd be ok with it, otherwise we'll request them to transfer us to a private clinic in Sthlm that's supposedly good.

Doing the surgery oversees would suck considering it'd probably take a few weeks before a 10 hour flight would be comfortable after the operation, not to mention all the other crap that can happen with travels and such.

Meh, carelessness at it's best. You should at least have 2-3 nice words to the initial doctor...

Arirang   Canada. Oct 10 2013 03:49. Posts 1673

Well.. i guess it's still a good news. Better that they've caught the problem before dismissively just performing the operation fucking things up even more. Holy shit that doctor that didn't even look at xrays and stamped approval for a surgery. And this is the private practice. I mean yeah there can be errors cuz we are all human but a mistake like this, I don't even know if it can be labeled a mistake or just sheer ignorance..

It's not private, all this retardation is from the standard Swedish health care system.

DustySwedeDude   Sweden. Oct 10 2013 08:43. Posts 8623

Or rather, the X rays where from a private practice, the "not looking at them" was all government sponsored health care.

Do you still have a position in gold? How has gold been going for you?

DustySwedeDude   Sweden. Oct 10 2013 11:28. Posts 8623

Gold's been doing very so-so, not worried about it though. I've got a lot of cash laying around so I don't need to sell before I buy a house. Long term view, yo.
