Damn, for some reason I got chills from your blog title thinking you were about to post the big one. Anyway, yeah pay the guy back one day when you can, but accept him dropping you as acknowledgement that you need to basically defer your payments for a long time.

bye now

this isn't a bash post, more like a legit wondering post.

how can you make someone 135k and still not have paid him back?

how can you make 15k/month and still be in debt?

btw, newb - i remember thinking of you quite poorly numerous times in the last 2 yrs... perhaps you're not the most legit guy to offer re-payment advice? all in good-will, i'm sure, however, what you preach is scum. so please refrain.

Huh? I've never borrowed a cent from anyone, online or in person. Maybe you have me mixed up with someone else?

I mean I understand the resentment against advising someone not to repay their debts, and at first glance that might look kinda scummy, but I'm just trying to help him be realistic with his finances. People get in over their heads in other ventures too, happens all the time, and sometimes you gotta abandon ship for awhile and start over from scratch. Just sounds like devon is insinuating that I've somehow done something or participated in something scummy before, which I cant for the life of me think of. Unless he just doesnt like the cut of my jib.

you guys are acting stupid right?>

i was staked?

the second i get cut off the team (dropped) the 25k make-up turns to $0 debt, although if I play for Baza in the future, the 25k makeup would need to be made before I saw any of my 50% in the staker to stakee relationship.

But as it stands, Thats washed away, I'll work my hardest to never be backed again.

its a great thing to happen to a MTTer thats being staked, I don't owe Brad (Baza88) a dime.

If it was loan makeup it would be different, but its not, its industry standard makeup.

yo devon - the first 57k i made was up in vancouver - we did chops on that - i paid off 20k in debts and was greedy and kept 7k that is gone.

then i moved to costa rica, was like 20k in makeup upon arrival, lost like 20k when i got there at poker, so was 40k in makeup. he kept sending me money to .live and do stuff, so it would go like 40k---42.5k-- i'd get a win --- take it to 35k then 32k ---- then he'd send me money --- take it to 35 etc, til i got to 4k, then it just always stayed at like 10-30k. we stopped with it at like 24.8k, which gets washed away in the rain in the staker to player relationship.

Which means. I Erased 25k in debt somewhat (woulda had to make it for him b4 I got any of my 50% *I needed to be CUT and not QUIT the team for this to happen, which did )

Which also means - I get 100% of my winnings now instead of 50%.

Which also means I had 42k in debt including what I owed Brad.

Now I have 11k-12k in debts and the PTP 6.4k - and the last year I just been sending him all my monies for nothin kinda, but I learned so much along the way its all good~

Thank you and I hope you guys understand what this means, its all positive.

i was having to pay back 2:1 on my loans from brad for a long, long time. At the end of the costa rica trip, he put all my debts in with makeup cuz I was ahead of mu and behind loans and he was happy with combining them ( we are close friends etc )

When it came to cutting me, I was push n prayin for it about 25-30k in loans over the years had cost me about 45-50k to pay back, cuz it wasn't until very recent that I went to 1:1 on loans instead of having to payback 2:1;

I hope this clarifies some things.

GL,
Ryan

i understand the debt part of things, its pretty easy to make 100k a year, have half go to your backer, some go to expenses, some go to past debts and not be making money for yourself.

but what sounds bad to me is to badger your staker into dropping you rather than grind the 25k makeup for him.

Nah, you haven't done anything explicitly wrong. Sorry about the 'tone' of my post, it was uncalled for. I just recall your big problems with regard to poker and emotional control that hindered your game hugely. How you shoulda quit, how you felt like you were entitled to x and y, etc. etc. I think this was mostly last year though tbh. Just seeing you give Ryan advice about how he should neglect his responsibilities regarding paying people back rubbed me the wrong way.

Again, I apologize for making it sound like you did something scummy. Hope things are on the up and up.

Theres a better version of that song

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same
