Frustrating sunday
   Daut, May 06

I'll preface this post with saying that i hate nothing more than people who complain about bad beats/coolers. I almost never do it and really hate it when people start im'ing me with these setup hands they had and expect me to show them sympathy. that being said, I am going all out today with my coolers in the donkaments today.

Played the major tourneys today. Hilarious what happened:

here's how i busted in the ftp sunday:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/187885

ftp mulligan:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/187882

stars 2nd chance:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/187886

Pretty sweet. Even sweeter since they were all in a short period of time, all within 45 minutes of each other.

Oh, i forgot about the stars sunday. The glorious stars sunday. With 1200 players left I am top 15 in chips. Then the following destruction happens:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/187765
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/187772

I go from top 15 in chips pretty close to the money, to out without even making the money. Insane. I thought a bit before calling the 99, i know it's pretty much an impossible fold to make but i definitely felt as if i was beat there. I dont want to be results oriented about it because it's just a cooler and it happens.

so to sum up the day, i busted from my 4 major tourneys with a set vs overset, AA v set, KK vs set, and a combination of losing an 85% advantage and a set vs a straight. man, i do not know how the online donkament players do it.

im gonna run a late night session at 3/6 to try to recoup the losses from coolerville.

Donkin it up in the online mtts
   Daut, May 03

So I decided that I would start playing a lot more online mtts for a couple reasons. First I would like to improve my mtt game and its a great way to practice. And secondly, I think that there is a lot more dead money in mtts than cash games, so it could be very profitably.

Tonight I decided to play 4 tournaments. The 22r and 100r on stars, and the nightly 150 on both stars and ftp.

So 8:00 rolls around and I am scrolling through the tournament lobby when I see this big stud tournament. I was like SWEET I LIKE STUD IM GOING TO PLAY. So I register for it without even reading what it really was. Turns out I entered a 7stud play money tournament.

And since I registered for the thing less than 10 minutes before it started, I couldnt unregister. So along with my cash games and other tournaments I would be playing a 7stud play money tournament.

My table opens up and of course I recognize nobody, although I'm sure there were a few sharks mixed in there. My guess is Joe Awada and Ted Forrest were using secret accounts and were at my table. It was a real blood game. Pretty much 90% of the hands were 7 way to 4th street, cause I was the only one who folded.

So a few minutes go by when I see something in the top left of the table that I hadnt yet noticed cause I was playing a lot of tables.

there was a link to make first time deposits. Here is the link if you guys want to make a deposit for the first time:

http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/promotions/bonus/

So anyway, I play it for a while and eventually bust . I was very upset and expected much better. I probably could have folded this last hand for my last 238 but I felt pot committed with my 2 pair and 4 flush:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/186218

I was very sad and disappointed with my night. But oh wait. I'm still in the ftp 150! and im a total lucksack!

yada yada yada, i build a monster chip lead with 12 people left and have about 35% of the chips in play, and hold the chip lead all the way to hu, fall behind a bit, but then pull back ahead and take the shizzle down.

sick yo. i love donkaments.

Totally Random Dream
   JonnyCosMo, May 03

So for some reason last night I went to sleep and had this short dream and quickly woke up only to find that I only slept for like 2 hours. Fuck. Dont really remember what I was dreaming about either. So I made some coffee for myself at like 5:00am this morning, and decided I'd plug in a poker session. I'm quickly up like $650 and cruisin, then I lose $400 in litterally a span of 10 hands and mentally lose it which brings me to the following hand:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/informatio...Take_this_to_the_trash_can._AK...html

He might as well turn his hand face up. Yet I pay him off like the retard that I am. I played for 30 mins after this and ended the session down $150 total for a nice $800 downswing from my peak. Wonderful. It is around this time that I remember exactly what I was dreaming about last night...

...So in Vegas last week we are at a Liqour Store to pick up a few drinks before we headed off to Treasures. The store clerks were outside laughing their asses off at some old lady that was at the counter. "That lady is going to try to talk your head off" one of them said to us as we entered the store. So Lyric and Mango were in-line behind this crazy lady who was still at the counter talking to the poor guy working behind the counter. Daut, Mogen, and myself were just standing off to the side, as this crazy lady comes up to us. She then starts going off on some just random cracked out shit yo. She proceeds to give us the following good advice:

"Take care of your health"

"Buy lottery tickets and make mad moneys yo~"

* Touches my arm *

"Dont lose what you win from the lotto on cruises and drugs"

"Dont do drugs"

"Take care of your health"

* Starts petting my arm *

"Gambling is bad, don't gamble! Just play the lotto."

"Drugs are bad, Crack kills"

I'm just smiling and nodding through this entire episode with the crazy lady and when she finally walks away we all kinda burst up laughing at how crazy this lady was. She was mad busto in the brain.

Ok so back to what this has to do with the dream I had last night: In my dream, I'm playing online poker, running like shit, but not caring because I had a lottery ticket. Somehow I knew I was going to win or I had already won with it or something because I was playing really wreckless poker. At the end of my dream I somehow get to talking to this same crazy lady and she tells me I need to stop playing online poker and start playing the lottery. LOL.

After this morning's session, maybe the crazy lady knows what she was talking about??? Here's a smile for everyone:

Monday Donkaments
   JonnyCosMo, April 30

So since Monday's haven't been very profitable for me at all in the past 3 months (you guys should probably check your PokerTracker and see if this is your trend as well) I've decided that I'd take the day off to play some tournaments and satellites. Why you ask? I dont know... I was inspired and last night I had a dream... it looked something like this:

How sweet would that be? Ok now back to reality. I'm playing the $150+12 Nightly Tournament along with the $3+.30 Rebuy and the $25+2 $25k Gtd. with the 3k stacks to start. If I do good in one of em I'll make another blog post later tonight.

PS: You guys should bug Daut to post what he really wants about Vegas and say fuck it to what Kathy Daut (su madre) has to think about it. Word!

Poker Report for vegas
   Daut, April 30

So I'll just keep this entry to the poker happenings last week.

WPT CHAMPIONSHIP

The only recognizable person at my table day 1 was Ari (sick bad luck getting the guy im backing at my table).

The blinds started off at 50/100 and we had 50k starting stacks. I decided I was going to play almost every hand with merit this level because we were so deep and I was sure I was the best player at the table deepstacked.

The first pot worth noting came up about 3 rounds in. I had been raising/playing a ton of hands and my stack was about the same as it started the tournament. a player limped in middle position, i had AJo in the cutoff and raised to 450. folded back to him and he limp reraised to 1200. I called.

flop came k53 rainbow and he made this disgusted face and insta checked. i read this as extreme strength coming from this particular player so I checked behind figuring he probably had KK. turn came a T putting 2 hearts on board. he bet 750.

now, the pot was about 2600 and he only bet 750. I had a gutshot and I also had the Ah in my hand. I decided to call getting over 4:1 with position and my gutshot and I would be bluffing on a heart river.

The river came the Qh, and he bet 1200. i thought for a little and decided to raise to 5k. if I didnt hit my straight I probably would have raised a bit bigger on the river to try and push him off but I decided to try and get as much value as possible. he tanked 1-2 minutes and finally called, and then threw a mini fit when he saw my straight and turned up AK (a lot weaker than what I had actually put him on).

A few rounds later I rivered a boat with 76 on an A7726 board, and bet 10k on the river, was called by a guy who stood up and screamed AH FUCK BAD BEAT. im guessing he had a 7 with a better kicker and I rivered him.

I finished off the level playing a ton of hands and having my stack stay pretty much around 67-70k.

After the break, the blinds were 100/200 and I continued to try and play a lot of pots. However, I quickly realized that I was getting 0 respect. i fired 2 barrels with a nut flush draw in position and was called down by bottom pair, and I also had a lot of other bluffs snapped off. I decided to tighten up and wait for some better hands. I didnt really get any during this level and my stack dipped to 55k due to my called bluffs.

When 100/200/25 ante started, I finally picked up a hand with KK utg. I raised to 700, it folded to button who made it 2200, and then the big blind (who was the same player i "bad beat" on the river earlier) shoved for 35k. I gave him this look like WTF IS THIS, thought a few seconds and folded. the button was like wow, and folded QQ face up. the big blind obv had AA and made some comment that he didnt want the flop to come K or Q and have a difficult spot oop. terrible nitty old man, nice job wasting the best setup hand of all time.

It wasnt really a difficult fold, pretty much the easiest KK preflop fold I've ever had. It was a little frustrating to finally get a real hand and have it wasted though.

A round later, the guy who reraised to 2200 and folded QQ face up made it 700 in mp, got called in one spot and I called on the button with J8hh. The flop came QJ9 with 1 heart and the pf raiser bet 1100. mp folded, i called, and then the dealer let me know that it wasnt 1100, but it was 2100. now its time for a rant.

THE FUCKING 500 AND 1K CHIPS IN THIS TOURNAMENT WERE BASICALLY THE SAME COLOR. one was light brown and the other was dark orange. if you were sitting across the table from a bettor and the light wasnt right you really couldnt tell the difference between the two chips. It fucked me over a few times here and there.

since i already put 1100 out there i decided to throw the other 1k out there. the turn came a heart and he bet out 3500. he seemed fairly tag, but on the tight side and i contemplated raising here, but decided the likelihood he had a set and the combined possibility that he wouldnt fold AA/KK was too high that I shouldnt raise, so I flat called again. River blanked, he bet 6k and i folded. I sort of wish i made a play on the turn or river in this hand, but I feel he very likely had a set because he seemed very very tight.

On the last hand of the level, i got dealt QQ utg, raised to 700 and got 3 calls. flop came 235 with 2 clubs and 1 diamond. the bb (same old guy that overbet shoved AA) led out 1100, i made it 3k with 2 players left behind, they both folded and the old man thought for a little and shoved for 30k. I felt like it was highly likely he was semibluffing, but since he already overbet shoved the nuts and seemed really tight, I thought sets made up enough of his range to fold here. I folded and he showed 34dd, which I would be basically 50% vs because of his backdoor flush draw. Flat calling and jamming turn is probably ok, but i didnt like the thought of playing a multiway pot to this turn.

I then lost a pretty big pot in the 200/400/50a level. I raised utg to 1200 with 88, got 3 calls, and a shortstack shoved for 10k more. I got the feeling from looking at him that he didnt want a call and the players behind me seemed pretty weak so i flat called. everyone folded and he actually had AK, which is way stronger than I expected from him. he made a straight and i lost about 25% of my stack.

Nothing else important happened the rest of the day besides me check raise bluffing this total fish on the turn and him waking up with KK. another 12k down the drain.

On the last hand of the day i folded KJ on a J88 flop to a guy who ended up showing 86. i finished the day at 28k and was pretty disappointed that I couldnt capitalize on my easy table and crazy image. At least I still had 35bb left for the start of the next day.

On day 2 i had a much worse table. play2kill was seated directly to my left, and I also had thor hansen and a few guys i had recognized from past WPT final tables. I won a few pots and lost a few pots early and my stack basically stayed the same for my bustout hand, which I will say again with my analysis.

kido pham (who is crazy) open raised the button to 3k at 400/800. I had AQdd in the big blind with 28k. I decided to raise, and made it 10k, he shoved and I called. I think hes raising the button close to 100% of the time here, but, since I made it 10k over his raise, i am basically committing myself against a shove, so I essentially shoved for 9x his bet. I much much would have preferred if i had made it 8k and then still called a shove (cause hes crazy), but at least this way I wouldnt have committed myself.

Overall I think I played well, but I think I should have a) totally given up on bluffing after the first level, b) been just as loose but less aggressive in the first level to help maintain a better image and c) played the last hand a little smarter.

Anyway, after that I found a series of wsop circuit events at Caesar's which is right next door to the bellagio. i played in 3 of them, a 500, a 1k and a 1500. I got rather deep in the 500 but bubbled with top 2 vs a flush draw, which I got pretty mad about (so hilarious that I got upset) because it was a big pot and I would have had a good chance to make a final table and pick up POY points. oh well whatever. got busted from the other tourneys in standard ways (squeezed into aces, lost top pair vs a flush draw)

as for cash games, I didnt play much live. i played about an hour of 50/100 7stud to help me gear up for the wsop stud events (which I plan on definitely playing) and I came out up 800 and felt like I was much better than my opponents. i am very excited for the wsop stud events because I feel like my ability in that game is close to my skill in NL.

ill post some trip adventures when i get back to school.

April!
   TianYuan, April 30

Yay for my original title

I got my money back from neteller like, april 17th, and I've been having a very swingy month, because of tilt, usually caused by an at times very cold deck.

But also because of me not being used to playing on UB and trying to 4 table, which is very very hard when you can't really use the handhistory as easily as you can on PStars.

PAcehud helps immensly with this tho, although I'm only 2-3 tabling now.

Anyway, I'll post hands/graphs and shit later, thanks to the deposit bonus and 'turn points into cash' promotion I'm actually in the green + there's an unrecorded +85$ session (the first one I played actually) skewing my stats further.

Played 10k hands NL10, 10k hands NL10 (I actually lost 30$ on this wtf? but it helped me find my rhytmn again after I had a horrible day at NL25).

Oh well, with the rakeback I should have like almost 800$ish, won 100ish today in 300 hands, so felt like this was a good time to make an april update!

Currently going through my sessions in pokertracker and I remembered these hilarious hands, look at them in order:

Hand 1, the war begins - http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/183895

Hand 2, wee http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/183896

Hand 3, this one seems familiar.. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/183897

Doubled him 3 times, gutshots > queens? I was somewhat tilted after this (shortstacks tilt me like nobody else) but now I find the 3 hands hilarious :D

Here's the handhistory numbers for the 3 hands:
Hand 1: 6013
Hand 2: 6016
Hand 3: 6019

Regular like clockwork

Looking through my second-most recent sessions (where I thought I was tilting like a madman), I see that I had much worse luck than I thought, although I'm really questioning my play in this hand:

JJ in re-raised pot, 3 handed.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/183891

Any comments would be appreciated, I have him at 21.56/9.43/Total AF 1.34, flop AF of 0.71 over 371 hands.

Didn't play any big hands with him before this as far as I remember.
I guess he'd play AJ, AK this way, but I doubt he 3bets AJ. At the same time I don't think I can fold JJ to a reraise, when in position, on a 3 handed table..

And when you then flop your set.. I mean, I'm pretty damn sure I can't fold, it just felt stupid >.<

Just ran the numbers in pokerstove and vs a KK-AA + AKs/AKo range of hands my equity is still 52.434% (for some reason I got a lower number last time, by like 2%, I'm pretty sure I had the exact same cards input ><).. I guess this was a trivial call, and I'm just being results oriented.

Usually when I get oversetted I don't feel like I made any mistake at all but this time it felt weird I guess.

I'm Over It
   JonnyCosMo, April 29

I'm sooo over my downswing. April has been a disaster of a month, partly because of my own personal flaws in playing along with some piss poor luck. When I came back from Vegas I was down a total of $3600 since the 1st of April for playing NL200 & NL400. Total Yuck! But from the past week I learned a lot, especially from watching Daut play and talking to Myth about the Stars regulars at our level. So yesterday I was back to my old form, as I started the day down $500, but came firing back to being up $1100 by day's end (Sick $1600 upswing!). Plus I cashed in 3 tournaments out of 4! I've been inspired to play more tournaments, being as they are so freakin easy and the players in them are terrible, so hopefully after I learn how to work these things I can put up some good results. Still down on the month, but atleast it wont be for too much.

Until then, I hope you guys enjoy this music video. It pretty much sums up what I'm feeling right now:

I'm Over Your Lies,
And I'm Over Your Games,
I'm Over You Asking Me When You Know It's Not Okay...

...Trying to drag me down and fill me with self-doubt...

...Hurt at first, a little bit, But Now I'm So Over It.

Yeah that's about right.

Back From Vegas!
   JonnyCosMo, April 28

Boy was that a freakin blast. So basically Vegas is just so awesome and I can't wait to get back there for the summer (or even sooner). Here are some of the most memorable times of the trip:

- Nazgul at the Spearmint Rhino, after I got hustled in the backroom by a talking stripper, I come back and get talking to Nazgul, teddy wong, and bet2win about random shit. Then Nazgul asks: So which girl is Lyric's girlfriend? And so I was like Mango. Then he asks what about the other girl? So I was like... uh that's like Mango's girlfriend. So Nazgul was like... uuh wait, so doesn't Mango go out with Lyric? I'm like yes. Then he's like, but that other girl is with both of them? I'm like yes. He asks if they are Mormon, I say no. He asks if this is normal in America, I'm like not really Lyric just runs really good at life. He's still confused lol~

- Each Day, I pretty much slept til 2:00pm. Daut, on the other hand, woke up around 11:00am to play the noon tournaments at Ceasars. I found it entertaining when he was going busto before I woke up. LOL... ok I know that's not that funny.

- On Thursday I played $2-5NL at the Bellagio w/ Lyric til like 4:00am in the morning. Then his $25-$50 seat opened up so I decided to just go to sleep. I wake up at 3:30pm in the afternoon to my cell phone ringing. It was Mango. "Hey Jonny, are you with Lyric or is he still playing poker?" Uhhh... he was still playing poker.

- So after I got hustled at the Spearmint Rhino, we went to Treasures the last night (which is such an underrated joint, I was really diggin it). So this stripper chick comes over and she was mos definitly a talker. Mango read through this bitch's game and totally saved my ass from another re-hustle. The girl had some bangin ass body, but apparently I was too drunk to notice that she was ugly in the face. Oops.

- Daut's hot mom friend who we spotted playing $5-10 at the Bellagio was totally cool. She was telling us of this hand she played where she got in like 20bb's preflop w/ KK and some guy happened to get it in with her w/ 86s and flopped a straight or something and she was asking if it was bad. No, it was totally standard. But some donk was being totally result oriented and trying to tell her to play the hand differently. Tard, you're making the poor lady dumber. Oh, and Daut's hot mom friend found out about Daut's other ID: BigBalls! LMAO, I'm sure she's curious as to how he got that name!

- Pretty much every trip we go on, we see Ann, the live poker pro from the east coast. I dont believe she is from the east coast, caz she is litterally always in Vegas. I dont know her last name, or any other nick name, and the name 'Ann' seems too short to use so I've pretty much dubbed her 'Poker Pro Ann'. Poker Pro Ann plays 50 hour poker session regularly. What RaSZi?

Mogen, Lyric, Poker Pro Ann, Mango, and Daut

Nazgul and Mig.com in the middle of their hustle at bowling

Daut's face says it all... we are sooo getting hustled.

I might put up more pics later. Hope you enjoy these.
