Pinballin' and Dustylovin'by DustySwedeDude, September 05
Pinball's coming to town tomorrow,
I'm so happy got no sorrow,
Sakisaki is still to sickz (to come),
we'll replace him with some chicks,
Our friend Pol Roger is callin'
It's pretty close to Pinballin'
This rhyme is fucking gay as hell,
Do anyone have some talent to sell?
Anyway I'm not really done with this
Malmis lives nearby with girls of his
They're not his as per say
But we're still happy cause none of them are (as far as we know) gay.
He is a fun ally in dota
Nu kommer jag inte på ett jota
Anyone wanna write the last part of the poem (has to be about me)?
The Rich Guy Chronicles (Generosity)by Shakedown88, September 05
The Rich Guy Chronicles (Generosity)
Hi everyone. It's good to be back. I recently went on a vacation to a luxurious beach resort in Wilmington, North Carolina. The beaches were beautiful and the resort was amazing. When I go on vacation, I always make a point not to spare any expenses. For example, on the last day of my vacation, I tipped the waiter at the local TGI Fridays a generous 17% instead of my standard 10%. But anyway, enough about my vacation.
I was eating lunch yesterday when a thought dawned on me. Most blue-collar workers, farmers, and low-stake poker grinders probably have no clue about the kinds of food that the affluent members of society eat. This is a perfect opportunity for me to showcase a typical meal in my life. Now, there isn’t anything extraordinary about the type of food that I eat. Like you, I probably eat my fair share of sandwiches, salads, pizza, etc. The main difference between my food and your food can be found in the quality of the ingredients.
Cereal is a food that I can enjoy anytime during the day. However, there’s a clear difference between eating the cereal on the left, and eating the generic filth on the right. Name brand food items are expensive for a reason, and I don’t settle for anything less.
One of my favorite dishes is my original Meat and Mustard Sandwich . I start with the bread. Most people lean towards the bread on the left because it is a great deal, but these “great deals” imply that the bread is not as fresh as the kind on the right, which is what I always get.
Next, the most important component of the dish is the meat. It really disgusts me that people actually purchase the “meat” on the left and consume it. Seriously, if you’re financially unstable to the point where you’re purchasing prepackaged deli meat, then you might as well have a little pride and refrain from buying meat altogether. Anyway, I use the stuff on the right, and I have a butcher who slices the meat wafer thin just for me.
Put everything together and we have a delicious, gourmet, sandwich.
So a couple weekends ago, my good friend Eric came to visit (I think he posts on liquidpoker under the name northface or peaches or something). Anyway, this guy has a hard life, and bless his heart, he’s doing his best to make ends meet. Not too long ago, he was riddled with debt and completely homeless. I took him in and allowed him to stay in my closet free of charge for a month. These days, his financial situation has stabilized and he’s eating better as well. For the longest time he would have watered-down rice porridge and old bagels for every meal. Anyway, Eric had a great time hanging out with me. Needless to say, the guy ate like a king. He’s not used to such great food so after I picked him up from the bus station, I had some of my famous gourmet sandwiches prepared and ready for him. Seeing him this happy really makes my day.
I've always believed that the financially blessed members of society have the burden and the duty to help the less fortunate because honestly, we are the only individuals who are capable of helping. Many people expect something in return for their generosity: a reward, compensation, or recognition.
Honestly.
The look on Eric’s face is enough compensation for me.
so when i saw my aces turn into a set with no draws out there i was like omfg finally my aces dont get cracked. yay!!
apparently not.

I have never ran this bad.by barbieman, September 05
8 days in a row of just running like crap.
I did not know it was possible to run this bad this long, def my worst run so far.
So far today I've had two TPTK with a nut flush miss vs flopped set.
have KK lose vs QT in a re-raised pot and having the flop come QTx.
KQ vs half stack AK on a QTx flop all-in.
standard day for the last 8 days. only thing missing is AA-QQ losing on a preflop all-in vs something like T8. Has happened at least once every day so far.
Tonight, I was deeply honored to accept the Republican nomination for President of
the United States. I am proud of my record of service to our country and would be
humbled to continue my service as your next president.
I have often said that I owe my country more than she has ever owed me. I am deeply
indebted to our country. I never let a single day go by without giving thanks for
the freedoms we are so fortunate to have as citizens of the greatest nation on
earth. This is just one of the reasons I have always put the needs of our country
before my own self-interest.
I'm very fortunate to have found a true partner in this election, Governor Sarah
Palin. Governor Palin and I have a lot in common. One thing in particular is the
nickname "maverick." I've been a maverick in Washington and I can't wait to have
another maverick join me on the ticket and in the White House as we stand up to the
status quo that has stifled reform for so long.
My friends, our nation is in deep need of reform. Our government is broken and Governor Palin and I, along with other Reform Republicans, are ready to lead; ready
to shake up Washington and bring this needed reform. Our ticket, from top to bottom,
is ready to break our country's dependence on foreign oil, ready to reform the tax
code and reduce your taxes, and ready to support our men and women in uniform.
Unfortunately, Democratic operatives have chosen to spend this week attacking us.
They have stooped lower than anyone could have imagined. And with just 60 days left
in this election, we must respond to these attacks with the truth. McCain-Palin
Victory 2008 is a fund set up to do just this; to set the record straight and get
the truth out to all Americans who support our cause.
Will you help our cause by following this link to make a generous contribution of
$50, $100, $250, $500, $1,000 or more? Any amount you can give today will go a long
way in responding to these shameful attacks.
The McCain-Palin Campaign and the rest of our ticket for reform are ready to serve
our country. With your help and support, we can make this happen on November 4th.
Stand with us now and join our team.
Sincerely,
John McCain
P.S. I have spent my life in service to my country and with your help, I will be
able to serve her a little while longer as the President of the United States. I
have found a dynamic partner in this election, Governor Sarah Palin. We're ready to
lead our Party to victory this November and to govern effectively afterward. We ask
that you join our cause today by following this link. Thank you.
I love how all the ads I see on TV are bashing Obama, and none are bashing McCain, and McCain has the audacity to say that anything not amazing that is said about McCain is stooping lower than anyone could have imagined. o.O
I played 2 sessions today, the first was gaylord focker and had crazy variance and my graph for the was just a zigzag. Ended up about +1.5BI at least. Then played a second session which went really good: +7 BI. So that makes today the biggest fuckin win day ever.
Ship it. I was playing fairly tight today but that was because of being dealt lots of junk and there was soooo many donk retards at the tables today. Maniacs I tell you.
And here's my lifetime graph.. looking kinda good I guess
After going on vacation this summer I kind of had to readjust to playing poker again. In the beginning I wasn't playing too hot, but I got back into the swing of things lately and this has been the result so far:
There's an idiot playing really badly and talking shit on my table. Nobody has so much as said a word to him in chat but he insists upon a barrage of personal abuse to the entire table. Unfortunately he was running like God for the first quarter of an hour and quadrupled up. Every time he won a pot he'd tell the loser who he sucked out on that he'd spend it on their mother, or some other such insult. Flopping trips with 27o and cracking QQ etc. It was pretty brutal stuff and even though we all had the dignity to ignore his verbal abuse it was obvious the beats were getting to the table. Some players started tilting a bit and one of the tightest players I know (11/9/2 over 3000 hands) started shoving AQo pf.
However he didn't have the sense to just hit and run. He thought his suckouts would last forever and his good run ended shortly and brutally. The pot sizes and the players he lost them two were very precise. Almost as if ordained by some higher power. First he gave each player he'd sucked out on a complete refund for pretty much the same as he'd taken. Then he sucked out on the nit a few times and got a decent stack. Then he gave it all to me. He really started shit talking then so I got a mod in and he muted him which was :D. He doubled up his last 20bb on my nit who said "donk table" which was the first thing I'd ever seen him say in 3000 hands at tables with him and left. I enjoyed that too, I liked seeing really tight nits tilt and act human like everyone else. His final 40bb went to me as AKo held against A3o pf and he just instaleft.
I share this story because poker is a brutal and very painful game which very rarely shows any sign of justice. In this case it did. The asshole lost all his money, all his pride and got muted. The 3 other players at the table got full refunds from him and the nit who had always seemed robotic went on crazy tilt and gave the asshole two buyins which ended up in my pocket. Life is good.
so i realised that im playing a massive amt of hands but not getting any rakeback at stars. so ill try taking a bonus at another site and took out 300 out of my 1.1k stars roll.
and omfg its grown to 700 in one day, bringing my br to 1.5k. the software is a complete joke (it looks like some high school student made the interface and avatars) but thgere are so many fish its unbeleivable. nl50 here is like nl5 at stars. plenty of active tables and average pots are 20-33bbs. so pt doesnt work there but whatever
i wonder how much i could have made if i started here instead of stars. of course im not improving only in the sense that i can own fish even harder now. and im bored to death palying 4 tables and writing this blog at the same time but winning in one day what u take 3-4 days to struggle and earn makes it all wroth it.
edit: i did have my fair share of incredible suckouts whiuch is always the case when playing with donks so its not that im on a heater, there are just too many fish
morale of story is: there is life outside of stars
So past few days I barely got to play because of my birthday, the Stars update on Sep 2nd that screwed up hands history files and made it so that PT did not work, and other things that I had to take care of in "real life." This means that in order to reach 65k FPPs before the WCOOP NLHE $1050 event, I need to play quite a bit more in the days that remain.
I also ran pretty crappy, making just over a buyin in 4,000 hands at 6-max and about 1/2 buyin in some random HU session I played when I could not use PT. Obviously, it's better than being down, but I have taken a bunch of fairly gay beats that brought my winrate way down. I am almost a buyin down with AA over the 4k hands I played.
Hands like these make the difference between 8BB/100 and 1.5BB/100 win rates:
I'm sure that K204 will make his usual excellent blog entry about his speech. But I feel compelled to share with everyone one quick excerpt from McCain's speech that he just gave:
"Russia's leaders, rich with oil wealth and corrupt with power, have rejected democratic ideals and the obligations of a responsible power. They invaded a small, democratic neighbor to gain more control over the world's oil supply, intimidate other neighbors, and further their ambitions of reassembling the Russian empire."
"But we can't turn a blind eye to aggression and international lawlessness that threatens the peace and stability of the world and the security of the American people."
Obligations of a responsible power? Gain control over the world's oil supply? Aggression and international lawlessness? Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
This following clip was posted on TL as well but I think everyone on LP should see this as well. The republican propoganda machine in full effect:
Mission = massive failureby Night2o1, September 04
Well I halved my roll again. Half bullshit situations, half me playing badly. I guess I will take a couple of days off and grind up another 20 fucking buyins at nl10 or something. Fuck man.
Hahaha @ college. Just started again this week and first week already they gave us the wrong schedule so I only has classes on Monday (Tuesday was full of classes we already had but they planned it into our schedule mistakes us for another group of students) and Wednesday and Thursday I had no classes planned.
Need to go to school from 08.45-16.55 tomorrow though which absolutely sucks... Last day before weekend and my longest day to boot...
Whatever, I might bring along my laptop and put in some hands over there because most classes are EZ anyways.
To go onto poker. I played super well today, immediatly lost a set over set in first 20 hands or so and that really set me off into monkey tilt state of mind but within 10 hands or so I got myself back together and started playing very well. I was ultra focussed for some reason and made some great plays both as bluff as for value thinking it'd get way lighter calls that way and it worked. Also kind of want from a taggish game into pretty laggy (NO, not because of tilt LOL), on 2 tables I was playing 35/25 at some point for about 50 hands or so and absolutely STOMPING the tables which was nice. Also got some guy on tilt that way losing 2x 15$ buy-ins to me within 20 hands which was pretty cool. I guess that is a possible effect of laggy play hehe. First hand he limp/shoved for 60x BB from SB into my BB and I snapped with 88 and held against his A8o and 10 hands after that I stacked him with AQ on Q87hh flop where he insta-shoved my weak lead on the flop with a worse Q.
Anyways, not much more to tell. I just still want to make a video me playing 25NL so some good players can maybe identify some of my leaks and maybe even some other 10NL-50NL players can learn something, I am not sure hehe. I feel really bad that I didn't cap this session because it was filled with awesome spots with one of them in the micro stakes forums me having KK after this laggy player made a play against me.
Meh, whatever, I'll just tape a session somewhere this weekend and hopefully it will be just as interesting.
Later, Kilay, GL at the tables all !!!
P.S: Shout out to tloapc because I think he did fucking great on his 25NL challenge and feel bad for him that he just didn't make it...
My name is Filip and i'm from belgium
I too used to be a starcraft player( GP.XelNaga = id), i've been lurking at this forums and blogs for a while now and i want to interact with other poker players. I'm really into poker right now and i wanna learn a lot about it and talk about it with other people.
I play 25nl, with the proper bankroll atm and i want to reach 50nl at the end of the month. I do need to improve a lot, that's why i want to talk about it with other players, learn about other opinions and talk about hands i think i played bad or that i have trouble with playing.
Furthermore, i'm 23years old, have a full time job and i play football, also have a girlfriend.
I'll be posting hands, graphs sometimes, but i'll really try no to whine about bad beats, everyone has them, everyone hears about it and i don't want to be nagging about it
Well hope to talk to you guys soon and hello to everybody
