Damn I have to post a poker update finally but I'm a lazy slob. I just wanted to keep you posted about my knee operation. Tommorow I'm going to the hospital. I'm allowed to eat a small breakfast and then nothing for the whole day. Then on Monday I'm going to be operated at about 8-9 a.m. And there's this thing that kind of scares me. They will give me a surgery anaesthesia in my spine so that I won't feel half of my body. I wonder how it feels like. Hopefully nothing goes wrong and by the noon doctors will have finished. So wish me luck and not to be bored in the hospital with grandmas and grandpas lol. I should be back at home on Tuesday.

I'm glad I pulled it out. Poker might seem fancy and complex at first, but like anything else it's all about work. You get out of poker what you put into it. It's nice seeing guys like K2o4 or whatever posting about poker for once, because if you follow the progression in his blog you can see how his results mirror the work he's putting in. Poker isn't always "fair" in this regard in the short term, but the real hustlers seem to be the ones who make it.

I was trying to chat to this one guy today who has bought in for 1/5 of a buyin, playing 80/20 over 30 odd hands. Not a word back. Fine.
I proceed to stack him where he raises his last few big blinds against my cbet and I call with middle pair. I then get ABUSED!
Anyway I don't know who he was but I can't understand how you're a big enough supporter of the site but clearly havn't bothered to take in any advice. I guess it's for the $50 avatar draw? God knows
Well at 2/4 anyways. 17 buy ins and a dollar a hand
First best day was 10k+ at 2/4 a couple years ago pre EUGEA etc. etc. Been trying to book another session like that for a while and this one came pretty close
9 fast tables of NL10 + 3b light = funby vlseph, December 20
yeah so everytime I take a shot at NL25, I get lots and lots of standard bad beats coolers suck at flippingz etc.
I kept trying it til I dropped to around $400, so I had to jump back down to NL10.
I decided to 9 table it (usually 4-6) just cause I didn't want to think and just fucking plow through fish who don't even want to win a pot.
I decided to make it a little interesting cause at NL25 I had a guy 3bet me every time I open from the button, and found how annoying it was. I eventually tilted and stacked off AT vs his AK pf and said fuck it. I tried 3 betting random suited connectors and small pp. I ran this session at 21.3/18.4/9.5 over about 1k hands and got like almost 500 bbs. I think I ran like a couple triple barrel bluffs which is generally not really a part of my game yet and stole like maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of the pots. It was an extra swingy session, but caught a lot of nice flops and what not towards the end.
(I get a very sick sense of pleasure 3 betting 53s, flopping two pair, and stacking JJ.)
I also am going to start playing micro MTTs where the buy-in is like 0.5% of my bankroll or smaller and try getting a nice run for a br boost.
I just don't understand how a couple months ago I crushed NL25 with so relative ease and now it seems like THE impossible gauntlet of doom or something. I am bringing my same game from NL10 if not a little tighter and it just doesn't seem to work or maybe this is just standard variance running bad, but whatever it is it's making me mad. It's not like the increase in the limit is scaring me like "oh no that's so much more money!" cause I've already been there and done that, and I'm really desensitized to the value of a dollar (or dimes?) when I play poker now anyway.
I don't know if I will be able to deposit extra cash from Cake Poker now at the end of the month to take a shot at NL50 if I can't even beat NL25 anymore...
Maybe I will just 9 fast table NL10 for life and earn like $50 an hour or some shit.
Also going to Vegas on Christmas Eve. I really don't want to go and my parents are dragging me and my sister. We go almost every year and actually just came back from Vegas this summer. I'm only 19, so I've outgrown most of the arcade games and get tired of them really easily and other kid stuff, yet I'm not old enough to go gamble or drink, so it's like I'm in purgatory. I think I'd be okay with it if I could bring my laptop and just sit in the hotel room and play poker online, but internet in a casino costs like $24 a fucking day!
