Up 4k but... by PanoRaMa, March 06

http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a162/sirasoni/030509.png

Running well this month, hope it keeps up, especially after the fact that..

my gf and I broke up :[ didn't last so long, and I'm not gonna get into it more than that but yeah..it's affecting me pretty significantly emotionally. Today I played 11 minutes of 200nl and just felt like shit so I just quit (though I did make $290 lolz). I just don't have the urge to really grind it out now.

Most of this heater is at 2/4. My current plan is just playing 2/4 during the evenings and when games die, play 200nl. It's kind of a sad state of affairs to see just how crappy the 400nl+ games are past a certain time frame, oh well.

Intro by Sabre., March 06

hi LP this is actually my first time posting here ever - I was referred to this website through a friend of mine (FeARFaCT) and he said this would be a good place for poker advice and to help myself learn. He also said that this had alot of people with previous video game playing backgrounds (bw / wc3 anyone?). I myself used to be a long time player of warcraft 3 and also a bit of bw before that. I too however now have made my switch over to the poker world. I have known how to play the game for close to 2 years but it is only up until recently that I decided to try to take the game very seriously and give it my full effort. This was about around December of last year. I currently play on Pokerstars under the name $abre. I have experimented playing some tournaments but mainly find myself to be a cash game player. I have now since built up my bankroll enough to play 100NL cash tables. I hope to post my hands and questions here in the future from now on. I am still very much working on my poker game but I hope to become a good winner at the 100NL 6max tables in the future. Hopefully you will welcome me into your community. Wish me luck LP ~

Day off, my glorious return by Night2o1, March 05

In accordance with the plan I outlined in getting myself back on the wagon, I took yesterday off. After class ended I need to figure out a way to keep myself away from the computer/from home so I started messaging peeps and joined up with a couple of friends. Actually, I ended up going to a trivia thing with my ex gf and two of ours friends.. ehh.. it turned out ok, I just tried not to actively talk to her and stuff w/o just ignoring her. Was pretty fun. That ended at about 10 o'clock so from there I had nothing to do, on the way I decided to hit up a club.. had a bunch of drinks, ran into some friends, danced, had a good time. So my day-off turned out pretty well.

Today I didn't really feel like waking up.. err. yah. I went to bed at 7AM and didn't bother to get out of bed until 10.30PM LOL. I watched a poker video and decided to have a short session. Its getting late and action is dying on cake so I figured I'd play like an hour and just ease myself back into things.

My glorious return:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/18cb36805c1596c0328371f5d9a074ea.jpg

lol, so yah, I won a couple of hands and was like, "fuck it that's good enough :D" after about 25 minutes of play.

I plan to start things up tomorrow and definitely put in 6-8 hours on Saturday circumstances permitting.

Ofc I've been awake for less than 3 hours at this point and its not even 1AM.. Err.. No idea wtf I'm gonna do lolol :D

First Blog by disCord, March 05

Sup all, decided to start blogging not so much that you call know what's going on with me, but more of a reflection. Last month I took $1000 from my live poker roll and decided to give online grinding another chance. Due to some good tournament cashes and only about 12k hands in nl25 I started playing nl50 this month. Here's the graph of how it's going so far:

http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/6441/week1graph.png

Not really many hitches but in one of the sessions I did end up against runner runner quad queens which was funny:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=645109
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=644984

Prolly the reason my non-showdown winnings are doing well:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=645230

Couple hands I'm looking for advice on:

Dunno how often I'm going to update this. Plz leave comments or advice.

day 2 100nl by Pallywhacker, March 05

I plan on making a big post this weekend with all my horrendously shitty plays, however I wont another couple buy ins today despite my best efforts to fucking suck. I had about 100 hands where I dropped 1.5 buyins playing like a total retard, I should have probably lost 1/2 to 1/4 of a buying but I got overaggresive like a spewtard. Eventually I may learn, still overall I'm happy with how I'm doing. The funny thing is I'm actually running 3 buyins under EV which is promising, but I still have some tilt issues. Atleast I've worked it out enough where I get off the tables fast when it starts. Stay tuned for my shit hands and I look forward to you guys mother fucking me for being terrible.

“Cronblom's Law” by DustySwedeDude, March 05

Me and my dear roommate has finally finalized our new thesis; “Cronblom's Law” (really wanted it to be Dusty's law, but I'm saving that for later, this won't win a Nobel Prize).

“If you're ever close to having sex with a women you really don't deserve to have sex with, just shut up and go with the flow”.

Mostly relevant to geeks in TV-shows. And I assume most of you guys are geeks, so it can clearly be used in our lives too. Assuming we'd get into situation when we'll be on our way to fuck girls far to great for us. Empirical experiments seems to indicate, although from an insufficient sample, that alcohol and poor judgment and/or self-esteem from the girls side increases the chances of this occurrence.

Variation: “Only sounds that can be interpretative in a way suitable for any question and sought for answer should be employed in such a situation”. Basically, just say “yea”, “right, haha” or something like that.

Examples when failure to follow this rule fucks up a “sure thing” with a girl so hot that any self respecting social paradigm should call for suicide are apperent in these following shows;

Couplings
Entourage
How I met your mother
The big bang theory
Friends (matter of opinion. My roomie thinks that one guy can actually not want to have sex with Rachel, I see that as a clear case of self delusion).
Sex and The City (never call an old women old, unless you want to avoid STD's)

It's not as apparent in films, probably cause it doesn't make for very good jokes and overall the scene will end with a disappointed crowd for the most part.

I therefore hereby declare, that if I ever get a chance to have sex with any girl I genuinely feel are too hot for me I'll make sure to keep talking to a minimum from the movement layers of clothing starts to come off, and if at all possible try to keep stuff in front of her mouth to give her an incentive to shut up too.

Poker Co-Pilot by OneInTheStink, March 05

Ive been using poker co-pilot for a month and its been pretty decent. It definately includes all of the standard features like total winnings, opponent stats, HUD, and other misc data. The reason im reluctant to actually purchase the product is because of its lack of hand history replay, the EV line, and the non showdown winning line. The HUD isnt adjustable which makes it really annoying when im 9 tabling and the data overlaps the chip count. I understand this is my only option for poker tracking devices on a mac if i dont wanna pay for pt3 and buy parallel, but I definitely want the entire package if I am to purchase this tracker. On a good note, the creator, Steve, has an open discussion forum that lets everyone input ideas and give feedback so he can continuously improve the product. Overall i'd give it a B/B- rating, and being a picky consumer, I would not purchase it until the issues i have mentioned earlier were all addressed and added onto the tracker. In my previous posts are pictures of it, the set up is really clean and simple to use.

On another note, my midterms are finally over. I get to plug in a week of grinding before cramming for finals. GL

personally I think it's probably a load of BS. I can't imagine them ever doing any sort of real free training with these guys. I figure it will be the quality level of the free articles they send out in the emails, which is pretty low.

Funny story + beats by Qyvs!, March 05

real life

I will start off with a kind of a weird story, and then just complain about variance once again.

On monday afternoon I went to my university to attend for the first time ever some class which sounded better than it actually was. It was called "Selling ideas, yourself and sth...". I took it as my additional course cause I figured out it might help me with selling stories on the flop that I actually flopped the nuts. So far the class didn't help me much with it though.

Anyways, I sat down next to my old friend on my left and on my right there were two french girls from exchange programme. The one sitting further from me was blonde, not really looking decent enough to start any conversation, and the one sitting directly on my right was kinda ok but looking familiar. I thought for a while that I have to know her, but since I don't know many french girls I just gave up. During the class I was either paying attention to the lecturer, or chatting with my old friend and forgot to even think once again about the familiar-looking girl.

Late that day, I eventually got back home. As I sat in front of the monitor with chinese food I started checking mailbox and facebook. Some friend posted photos of her party from a week ago so I decided to check that out while eating. After few photos I saw the girl on the picture from early morning class. She was tagged. I looked at her name and I was like "WTF!!@!@!!!!!". I really couldn't believe it. I was like "WWTF!@!@!!!!!"?!???" - or I mentioned it already ?

I was stunned... so who was that girl ??? 5 years ago I went to Freiburg, Germany for some german course during the summer for around 4 weeks. I was 17 back then. I was chasing rather japanese girls there, and koreans but one night I was real drunk and decided that I didn't take enough photos from my trip. To keep up with the volume of pictures I decided to ask some fellow japanese who are pros at taking photos to take some of me, and the girls from the course. So among many photos, I had one of me, and the french girl "Cyrielle". We started chatting, drinking, then dancing and late that night I finally went to my appartment with her. She was the only french girl I've ever taken to bed. I remember even now the morning when I woke up. I was totally wasted. But of course we ate something, I walked with her back to her place or somewhere in between and we exchanged e-mails.

I think I e-mailed her once, or twice beacuse I liked her but that was it.

The funny thing is that I didn't recognize her in the class this week, as well as she didn't recognize me. Right after I saw her picture on facebook, I started looking for the photo I had with her in Freiburg from 5 years ago. Luckily I found it.

Next monday I will go to the class, I will sit in the same seat where I did and I will have the picture with me. I will pass the photo to her with the back of it face up. I don't know yet what I am going to write on the back of it - probably sth like "SURPRISISEEE!!!!" or dunno, but it just makes me laugh when I imagine her face, eyes wide-open looking at me in the class like "WHO THE FUCK IS THIS GUY AND WHY AM I ON THIS PICTURE WITH HIM!?!?.

It would be a funny bet how much time will she need to realize who I am.

poker

My downswing continues. I don't play 16$ 9-man but dropped to 6.5$ 9-man. Yestarday I started sessions with 16 tables and lost 11 buy-ins. Today I lost 14,5 buy-ins during a 16-table session... I lost 11 coinflips in a row + two 80/20. So far it's the worst I've ever run.

Also it made me laugh when the first hand heads-up yestarday I get AA. I push all-in and I get called by KK. I was sure I was going to lose the hand on the river. I was saying "plz river don't , plz river don't. And a K came on the river yay!

I used SNGwizard, SNGPT and I played as usual. I made 2 nice laydowns and the last 2 bubbles I missed 3 shoves which I normally make. Still, I dond't think I deserve losing that much of money playing @ baby stakes. Hopefully I made 4 buy-ins @ NL25 SH in an hour, but that proves nothing but I heater, and the whole SNG part just makes me wanna cry.

playing well cmon results! by thewh00sel, March 05

Feb ended up not being as great as I was expecting thanks to some bad luck in the live poker arena but whatever I still have had two really solid months so far.
More importantly, I've been extremely happy with my game lately. All of my ace high call downs have been correct and my bluffs are all well timed. Also I've been making some good laydowns which is the trifecta for some good results. Now I just need to wait for those results to come in while still playing the same way that I am now. Anyways this is just a motivational post and also I wanted to post this hand that I'm pretty proud of.
Norfmans range here is like always aa when he flats a 20ish bb stack like this. I'm just happy I got to see the showdown so I could show this hand off hehe.
