Heyyy first blog post, i think its gonna be pretty long so if you read it all well done but for those who cant be assed heres the general story in chronological order; Fuck poker, oh wait actually its cool, the end.
So recently i've kinda lost the thrill i used to get out of poker, by the 15th of this month i had played only 198 hands and i was just generally feeling extremely lethargic and that it might actually be a good idea to give up with poker and move on. I used to get this feeling a few times a while ago, and i solved it by moving up in stakes to get me excited about the prospect of winning or losing more money (LOL oh hi degeneracy.
Anyways i woke up this morning and in a last ditch attempt to salvage my poker "career" i looked through a ton of my hand histories. My god i never knew i was such a nit. No wonder i was getting bored with poker, just playing shitty passive poker waiting for setups to fall in my favour. I was soooo bad at extracting value, my post flop play was just terrible and i think this is why my showdown winnings were falling so terribly. The small ego that i had about my poker skills was gone completely as i had no idea why it took me so long to realise i was playing so bad.
With this in mind i loaded up 4 NL50 tables (2 to start with probably wouldve been better so that i could get used to my new style and how people would play back at me) and decided to loosen up far far more, pump up the aggression and really just think far more than i had been before. I also took a lot more notes than i have done in the past and it just worked wonders for my game and also my state of mind towards the game too.
Things started off pretty bad when a 82/0 fish stacked me twice, AK<22 and KQ
Anyway you should get by know the jist of what im trying to say; "yay im no longer a nit and i find poker fun and exciting again". I only actually played quite a small session handwise but tables were dying and i was happy to end the session +2BI after an hour and a halfs play with my new style.
I dont know how I have done it but I havnt played a single hand of poker this month . Just became finished with a big essay in school so now thats off my back. Guess I will probably resume my gaming this weekend, probably tomorrow since its partytime tonight! Must get into pokermode soon if I want to go to Vegas this summer!
today i have said to yourself "I kno im beat here... but I call anyways becasue I have a good hand"
STOP THIS!
fuck sakes i feel like a tool when i make these retarted spewy calls. cant laydown big hands lately and its really afecting my winrate. its also getting me stuck like 3 buyins everyday and im always working myself out of a hole which is not fun.
Ok so my reads on villan was that he was pretty decent, protected his hand alittle to much/big and that he def was capable of folding big hands. Played with him for over an hour and i never had done anything crazy or to bluffy (in his mind i would think)
He had been doing this minraises all the time since it become 4 handed.. Wich is kinda strange since we are all 200bb deep..
Anyways
So I decided on this river turn my AK TP into a bluff cuz his betsizing on both turn/river looked alot like AT/AQ or some other random 2pair combination. Maybe TT or 22 that i def would think that he would fold those kind of hands to my riverbluff.
RIVER $ 112
check,
TSX bets $56.25
longple1 raises to $143
TSX calls $87
longple1 shows
TSX mucks his hand
longple1 wins $389
handhistory is little fucked up but w/e
Really wish i could see what he had, he left a couple of secounds later so.. (cant see in HH what the other players muck) but i guess he (kinda?) soulread me and called with AJ?
So yeah. Anyone want to coach me for free at NL25? I'm beating the limits but I still think I might have a few leaks. Anyone feel like coachin' me for free?
Yo?
Coachingsed?
Don't really need it at NL25 but always fun to talk pokers?
Yes??????
i am on skype right now. logged in as sliggdogg and im playing 4tables nl25 on ftp. skype me and coach me. niggas.
This dude takes youtube to another level. He splices 10s of vids together, makes beats/lyrics and creates a song with added visual from those originals. All amateur. Mixtube.
So like most people I've talked to on this forum, I loved season 1 of heroes. Totally awesome. Season 2 was ok, but not great. It was starting to get a bit annoying with the quickly expanding cast and lack of consistency in the characters actions - one episode they were good, the next they were evil. Then season 3 premiered and I made sure to watch but after 3 episodes I gave up because things had just gotten ridiculous.
That's the point I was at for the last few months. Earlier this week I got really bored so I decided to suffer through some more heroes episodes and see if it got any better. At first it really didn't and was still bad, but at least I could watch back to back episodes instead of waiting a week so the few strands of interesting story could be pursued immediately. They eventually straightened sylar out and got him back to evil, got rid of peters dad who was way too damn powerful, and gave peter some power back, and with that my interest in the show started rebuilding.
I went online to read up on the show a bit cause I was having trouble keeping all the characters straight (they added way too many during season 2-3). I found some info about how the ratings had crashed in season 3 and they'd fired some writers and brought in a guy who'd worked on season 1, and that starting with episode 20 he would be writing again and trying to refocus on a character driven show rather than a "how many twists and new abilities can we pack into 1 episode?" driven one. So I was pretty excited to see whether the new writer would make a difference, and so far it seems like he has. Episodes 20-23 have definitely been the best of this season and it's starting to feel like heroes of season 1 again.
Sadly I am now all caught up so I'm back to waiting week to week. Odam. Guess that means it's time to watch season 4 of rescue me which I missed.
Even though I am still at the micro stakes, I will be switching up from 6max to full-ring. Ive come to realization that I can better take advantage of Fish players when I have more control over position, and that I can better "manipulate" what happens post flop when I can set better reads. Overall, this is an easy and good decision.
In terms of my own schooling situation, I will have approximately two to three years left, and maybe more. I hope that I can transfer into a near by art school and be able to complete my degree doing Illustration. My Ultimate dream job is to be able to sit there and Draw; ALL DAY.
You will never see me behind a computer doing anything else, but playing Poker.
As many of you know, the centerpiece of yesterday's Teabag LARPing Performance Art Fair was to be the unveiling of one million teabags, which were to symbolize one million symbolic teabags, fighting socialism. These teabags could not be dumped in the muddy waters of the Potomac, to the delight of kayakers, because that's illegal. So the teabaggers were going to take their act to Lafayette Park, and dump all of them on a tarp -- by which we mean an actual tarp, not a Troubled Asset Relief Program. That would have been far too clever a joke for these people.
But! The State got up to straight up TRAMPLING of the RIGHTS, and put the kibosh on the teabag display. Which left the bags back in the inside of a truck, borne back ceaselessly into the past or something.
And so, that left people with one unresolved question: What happened to the teabags? Did they end up on a cross country jaunt? Did they get sent to the Dharma Initiative? Did anyone come to the realization: "Hey! I bet we could make tea with these things?" As it happens, the press stayed on the case.
From today's Washington Post:
Finally, the truck's driver, who had been wandering around town for hours after an overnight drive from Georgia, found a place to unload the cargo: 12 floors up in a downtown advocacy group.
That's right. One million teabags finally found a home in a conference room at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, JUST AS NOSTRADAMUS SAID THEY WOULD. The Post got a picture of the greatest political demonstration to ever take place in a downtown conference room.
Gaze on that image, and tell me if your patriotic heart doesn't swell with, "Seriously, guys, you need to move these things by three so we can go over the new HR policies."
Glenn Beck also got really patriotic and started supporting the Texas secessionists... wait, seceding from the USA isn't patriotic!
Republicans, why do you hate America? If you don't like it then you can leave, just use the tax cut Obama gave ya and buy a plane ticket. And if you make over 250k and didn't get a tax cut, then you obviously have enough money to buy a ticket outta here, and if you leave and renounce your citizenship then you won't have to pay!
(For those who missed it, the last paragraph was supposed to be ironic).
I must close with a sign showing the strong level of intellect at these tea parties:
Hi.
There are some crazy people who actually help and give an insight based on stats and graphs.. so ;-) y not, I gotta try
I used to lurk on liquidpoker for very long time, also I'm posting activly on polish "little brother"
I came back to cash games after winning a donkament.. ;-)
My bankroll is 1350$, I wonder if I should get back to NL25 to grind out to like 1500$ ?
This graph is from nl25 and nl50... samples are not that huge but im wondering why the hell my graph looks like rollercoaster and my redline is fucking sick...
First blogpost, woot. I think I might start getting more active here and shiz. Anyways, to the actual reason for a blog:
So, I've managed to finally realize that I have serious ego issues, which makes me just go up levels for which I'm not rolled, and set up the biggest donation center in town. So it's punishment time. Starting over again from 10nl, and grinding my way up. NO shoveling NO nothing. I'm going to use this blog as a reason for me to actually manage my BR.
So, for now, the rules are: 10nl 'till 500 bucks, which will basicly be more grinding than I've done before. I fail. (BR now at 133 buckaroos, was 700 at best, but went up and shouted free money, which was soon gone.), so that's 37ish buyins left to grind. After I hit 500 bucks, I'm starting 25NL again, since I used to play there and I was a marginal winner. I wouldn't be that marginal if it wasn't for the monkeytilt I got from jumping up stakes, losing and realizing I've gotta drop down. I'll grind that 'till I hit 1250 bucks, and start playing 50nl.
Todays session: +20 bucks, running at 13.53ptbb/100. "Finally" not running like fucking muddy waters. Still got a bit sucked out on, and I made some really poor decisions too.
Some of the more interesting hands:
First hand: Villain played around 80/40, and had been doing really weird shit all over town. I figured I was ahead almost always here. His tendencies was to bet quite a bit when he hit, but never to shove. Ah well, sometimes, a suckout is a suckout! + Show Spoiler +

Second hand (lolpun): Silly mistake. Forgot about the paired board, and was still thinking "Hey, 2 pair!". Villain played something like 77/14, and seemed really easy to take to valuetown. Was just a silly mistake, which I highly realise should've been folded. + Show Spoiler +

Third hand: Villain is fairly competent, reacts alot to image. I had a bit of a "LOL I MISSED CBET CBET!"-image, and figured that he would call me down lightly. When the king hits, and he shoves, I'm 100% sure he's got me beat. I wouldn't against worse players, but he had never spazzed out before like that. Otherwise, I'm quite happy with the way I played it. A bit unsure about the last blockerbet though. Felt really weak, and almost like he would shove more on that bet. + Show Spoiler +

Fourth hand: I felt that I could probobly get one of the others to call by just calling myself, but then again, I figured if an ace hits, I just wont be able to manouver too well, and I think the only time I get anything else from them is they're sitting on queens/jacks, or AQ/AJ and hit a queen/jack on the flop. I felt like the shortie would shove PF/on basicly every flop anyways, so it seemed to be an easier spot to put myself in. + Show Spoiler +
