The beginnings by Yanchi, May 29

Hi,
I'm fairly new here, played sc for couple years, but I was average (B6 on wgt, C on pgt). I was lurking TL for a while, and like most of you decided to give poker a shot. As luckb0xx adviced me, I started playing on betfair. I can only say, it was very good decision. I played some hands, unfortunately, lady luck was not on my side But I see, I can beat nl10 6-max. I would like you guys to give me some hints, mostly on my stats.
For a while, I played very tight, knowing that "tight is right", I tried to apply my tight game from fullring. But 6-max is different, so I tried to open my game a little bit. I don't want to whine about getting unlucky, so my only question is, if my PFR isn't too high compared to VPIP. I contbet almost every 1on1 flop, where I raised pf..

Golfing and what not by Cooper83, May 29

The last couple days have been awesome outside so my best friend and I decided to go golfing yesterday. Were not exactly great golfers, ok he's flat out comical. He lost 14 balls on the first 9 yesterday. Needless to say it's rather entertaining, we ended up spending more on drinks then golf. Were going out again today so this should be fun............yeah I could get used to this unemployed thing.

The standard cooler night....again by BalloonFight, May 29

It seems like once a week I just get coolered like 4 or 5 times within a couple hundred hands and just completely take a toll on my winnings for the week.

It's even more frustrating as I finally got the +$160 from the may special last night. I then start my session this evening and completely erase that within 200 hands. Heres 4 out of 5 bigger hands that happened within the first 200.

+ Show Spoiler +

^ seriously wtf..

+ Show Spoiler +

Literally the same sequence happens every session for the last week. I get aces maybe around 3-4 times a session. Each session being around 1k+ 100 or 200 hands.
Three of them I collect the blinds, or I 3bet one and get an initial guys raise. Then I get one where i 3bet, guy calls and flops a set. I've lost to a set with AA 4 times in 4 days so far once a day. Really annoying although I guess it might be kinda standard. It just seems like WHENEVER i get raised on a flop and I get it in with AA I just run into a set.

Last hand = http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/697074

Linking it because I thought the discussion was good and would be beneficial to others.

Ugh I still have had a decent month, but I really should be up so much more if I could just hold every once in a while.

Oh also whenever I get a bonus from stars I always lose the $ from it super fast. I got the shitty as fuck $50 bonus twice, and both times was down a buyin when I finally unlocked it. fml

Oh well rant over, cheers LP

Bracelet Bet by Luna_Bluffgood, May 29

me in my friends are doing a bracelet bet this year for 10e a pop (high stakes eh? :D )
my team is:
1. Daniel Negreanu
2. Phil Ivey
3. Chris Ferguson
4. Allen Cunningham
5. Erik Seidel
6. Matt Hawrilenko
7. Steve Weinstein
8. Barry Greenstein

Basically went with the "oldschool" players capable of all the games besides No Limit holdem, since they are going to have the smallest fields. Took a bit of a gamble and thor and hoss because I dont know how many events they are going to play, but since they are very capable online horse players ill take my chances.

My friends teams are:

1. Sebastian Ruthenberg
2. PHil Hellmuth
3. Phil Ivey
4. Tom Dwan
5. Daniel Negreanu
6. Johnny Lodden
7. Bertrand Grospellier
8. Erik Seidel

1. David Pham 2. Steve "MrSmokey1" Billriakis 3. Phil Hellmuth 4. Daniel Negreanue 5. David Benefield 6. Nam Lee 7. Gus Hansen 8. Vanessa "LadyMaverick" Rousso"

1. daniel negreanu
2. phil ivey
3. scotty nguyen
4. allen cunningham
5. john juanda
6. michael binger
7. erik seidel
8. t.j. cloutier

1. Phil Helmuth
2. Daniel Negreanu
3. Allen Cunningham
4. Chris Ferguson
5. Erik Lindgren
6. Eric Seidel
7. Justin Bonomo
8. Isaac Barron

Justin Bonomo
Justin Smith
Chris Ferguson
Allen Cunningham
Barry Greenstein
Michael Binger
John Juanda
Daniel Negreanu

1. Scotty Nguyen
2. Tom Dwan
3. Elky
4. Mike Matusow
5. Hevad Khan
6. Phil Ivey
7. Tom Schneider
8. David Benyamine

So I think I got pretty good chances. Its winner take all but I guess 1-2 might split it because a couple of guys have the same players

UHHH re? by rockman255, May 29

um, i kinda, somehow reproduced another 10k month in back to back months o__0

its not as awesome this time since it was nl200 so its overall a lower winrate

but uhh, uhhhhhhhhhhh

now i feel pressured to keep producing T_T but i suppose thats only from myself

hopefully things will keep going okay, and you can see from the graph, i included the redline even though its mostly very embarassing and it somehow changes a bit halfway, i kept changing styles throughout and i will continue doing so until i find what i like. (i guess for about half the graph it only actually drops about uh, like 8 bi or something so thats good)

<3 all, especially edzwoo the supergenius and dryath the baller =D .. oh, and artanis for tolerating my stream of retarded questions all the time :D

+ Show Spoiler +

uhh, details fwiw, 134.51 hours played, average # of tables probably around 9, 23 vpip =D.. im lazier this month cause of downswing at start, i play only like 300hands/day for awhile

3.36 BB/100 even including a rough start! =D

Day 2 - Bleh by edzwoo, May 29

I got two outed on the river about 3 times today, but I think I might have spewed about 2bi. Had I played postflop a bit better and made some folds I'd say I'd have broke even for the day. But oh well, still improving!

I also transferred my FTP roll over to Stars so now my roll is pretty comfortably padded.

Running pretty well by SpeedyJack, May 29

Not just in poker, but in life. It's the little things that are all going my way.

I'm 4 tabling NL5 atm, it's rapidly becoming very easy. Most of the other players play with their hand face up most of the time, I still find a few spots every now and then where I don't know what to do, so I post those here afterward and always get some help.

I think I'm going to move my roll to FTP soon to take advantage of their bonus and rakeback. If anybody who reads this has made a switch from PS to FTP and has anything at all to say I'd love to know what you thought.

I've been playing pretty short sessions lately, I might keep them up and just sprinkle some longer ones in now and then or see if I can make them a little longer, I'll just go by feel.

crashed my car 45 mins ago by traxamillion, May 28

So i'm driving home and traffic hits and moron 1 cuts me off so i have to move right while moron 2 doesn't yield to me while merging. I am going to hit 1 of the 2 take my pick but I don't really want to do that and couldn't afford insurance payments this month so i speed off and right to clear the dude merging but my back tires slip and hit the dirt and then I roll 5 times and into a ditch off the side of the freeway totaling the 2002 explorer i just bought like 2 months ago.

GG months of grinding 50nl on cake.

But at least i was wearing my seatbelt so instead of being dead im relatively unhurt and i didn't hit anyone else.

lame but ima try to be positive

Updates by DustySwedeDude, May 28

So right now I'm studying a lot and I feel pretty good about it. I guess that will change when I start with the Environment laws. Me and Rednalluk invented some theory on how much longer a random sex act would last in a room full of copies of "Miljöblaken" and "plan- och bygglagen" and we decided upon somewhere between 5 and 15 minutes. It might even be more. It's the new "thing of icebergs, oh god ICEBERGS PLEASE!".

In other news me and my friend Jocke had a study night a couple of days ago. I started out like this;
http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/9084/040fop.jpg
and ended like this:
http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/1629/042iva.jpg
I'm so great, won like 30 USD from him playing limit 5 card draw. A game he regularly plays online.

In other news I won like 1k € on Barcelona vs Man U and have won some money the 2-3 sessions I've played this week so I'm not down THAT much for the month anymore. Feels good.

Tomorrow I'll go on some kind of good bye party for some exchange students and then I've got like 5 more days before the evil exam. I am, however, better prepared for this one then the last so it shouldn't be THAT much of a problem.

Oh, and this is my favourite song of the week:

I can't wait for WSOP 2009 by I_run_godlike, May 28

This is the first time I blog about myself, I thought this would be a good idea to update my WSOP status to my investors and to keep myself motivated in many other ways.

I'm very thankful and grateful for those who purchased my action, I will do my best to play my A game and hopefully run like god for one time!

Having a downswing for the past 3 months certainly didn't help with my bankroll and confidence but I have readjusted my mentality and got a great mentor to refresh my mind. I'm physically, financially and mentally ready to go!

wish me luck guys.

NL10: A Winning Session! by LemOn[5thF], May 28

I can't believe it! A first long winning session in 50K hands.

Ye, I was losing at NL5,NL2 (thank you LP luckboxes, you know who I am talking about),NL10,NL25 and the closest I got to a winning session was the 300 hand one n my previous blog post.

NL10 really amuses me. I crashed and burned so many times before I realised that people are simply not folding their middle pair, no matter how hard I represent the overcard/superobvious flushes etc.

I still can't resist sometimes like here:

One EPIC SOULREAD:

Results:

Look at my number of sessions. Some serious table selecting was happening ;o
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/eae86be7e3c359846fb927a520c053be.jpg
I only raise Broadway+Pairs+throw in some SC CO and Button.

I have limped as much as never in my life with AXs kind of hands, and with low sc too-no point in raising, high card value is what NL10 is all about, and people pay me off in limped pots (this is the first time since FR where I limp drawing hands, as NL5 is 200bb)

Non-SD: My Naivety cost me a couple BI. There really is no point in going beyond C/Bet without at least 8 outs

Winnings:

This limit is interesting, I have never really played it and at least I know what I missed- TPTK ship it ;o

And as I play for happy meal money again, I also had a lot of fun experimenting with gay lines (you know, minraising minbets and minraises, cc/cc/c shove lines etc.)

I might actually hang around NL10 for some time, until I have at least 80% of my session winning ones again.
The Doomswitch had punched big holes in my confidence and I couldn't avoid being results oriented (which I never was before) after another session's hard work was wiped out by suckouts/coolers.

BR Now: $760

Wish me luck ;o

Played rly good by Night2o1, May 28

So I basically am letting myself play as well as I know I can..

Uhm.. I got set-over-set today with $500 stacks and I got away for $75. That means I've gotten set-over-set'd about once every 250 fucking hands in the last 7 sessions.

But in any case I'm really, really happy with how I played today. I broke-even but I think I played every hand very well. I guess that feels good.

Also myth moved into our summer house and I'm going to join him over there, uh, probably tomorrow since its likely I'm going to be asleep all day today. Fook I just set up my computer here and now I have to move it Q_Q

.......
I can't fucking believe I got over set'd again.
