Today I watched two instructional videos and then played second NL50 session on Betfair. My session wasn’t good again. I had one hard suck out and despite I was almost all session wining I finished -$32. I played 341 hands and my stats were better then yesterday, I had 21/16.
The biggest pot I lost was when player OTB pit sized openraised and I call on BB with pocket eights. Flop came 8J4 I checked and opponent (34/9) bet pot. I raised him 2.5-times his bet and he pushed his last $30. I called and he showed an overpair as I expected (QQ). But dealer had one of his classic brilliant moments and dealt Q on turn and I lost.
In my session I also two times lost aces. First time it was against BB who called my raise with J7s and caught trips on turn. Second time I check-fold my aces on turn but I’m not sure if bet-fold wasn’t better play then giving up this hand that easy. I have posted this hand here on liquidpoker, here is the link : http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/700455
In the evening I watched final table of EPT in San Remo Season 4. In four players Jason Mercier made great call when he was calling all-in bluff on the river with bottom pair. He has finally won the tournament.
lol poker this month has been shit. NL200 Started good as usual. then ran shit. So i cashed out and playing NL100 till i hit 4k again.
BUT BUT BUT
IM FINISHED WITH UNI LOL. Finished my thesis. WTF unbelievable. Need to do one mroe exam on 26th of June but its gonna be piss easy. So now im just going to wait and see what im going to get for my thesis and look for a job. Prob gonna graduate next semester.
so yeah. Not gonna do much. GOnna look for a job and play poker. GL HF!@!#!@
down 2.5 bi's or so today. ran bad in a few big 200b pots, and made two bad calls -_-;;
however still think im playing alot better than when i was a month ago. I still need to improve a tonne but this new style ive incorporated at nl100 is quite fun. Only problem is alot of the regs have started adjusting to me by tightening up and not making moves on me anymore =(.
feeling pretty confident still. wont have much time to play this weekend cause of a big hockey tournament , hope i dont lose it

2009 graph, since I returned to play in march, the downswing started at may 31, and since then, I didn't make not even one positive session, I'm running like shit and my confidence is gone, so I guess I'm playing bad too
around 29buyins down counting nl50 + nl25 in the last 13k hands
I tried to take 3 days off, but it didn't worked
I currently play nl50 at pokerstars, I tried to move down to nl25, but the same shit happened
and still have around 45bi to play nl50 in my bankroll
but I'm stucked for a looooong time ( like one year )between nl25 and nl50, maybe because I cashout every month, but I think I can't have a decent winrate at nl50, like 3BB+
I can't take too many days off, because I don't work and my only money comes from poker
what should I do ? I should move to an Euro site and play 76 tables and be a rakeback nit ? pay a coach ? kill myself ? quit poker ?
stop whining because 29 is standard ?
how does one make their redline not dip so low and actually make a profit off it?
i'm assuming it's most possible while playing 6max, but it seems weird because to win pots w/o showdown, you'd either have a tight image or just come into less pots and when you do you'd be going to showdown most of the time.
NL50 is kinda tilting me so far. At the start I had the feeling that everyone was just playing back at me and as a result of that I saw myself doing ridicolously stupid plays.
Started off going well this month but I'm not feeling really confident playing atm, even though I know the competition is a joke. And confidence seems to be so crucial for my game because whenever I play full of confidence and am really focused on the game I crush it, but I didn't feel like that today. Annoying..
Maybe its the bigger money that scares me but this is ridicolous because I used to play so much higher and I got a 40+ buyin br too.
Meh, I hopefully will get used to it and destroy it.
Today's session almost brought me down to the red numbers for the month though.
Gonna continue playing tomorrow, I will also try to rethink about my game, and try to make it better. Maybe going to cut down the tables to 8-6 or something also.
Im making a blog to keep track of my progress with pokerm I have been randomly playing every now and then for about 6 months now, and im rolled for nl10 so im playing 4 table SH ipoker. I got some free time for about two months so I plan to play as much as I can and move up on the limits ASAP.
Today I played my first serious session in a while which didnt go as well as I played but wasnt that bad either. Here is the graph.
Not much been going on lately, decided some time ago if I got over 3000e roll id relax, play heroes, sc, watch vods, series the days before Vegas, and I am!
I was also stupid enough to go out drinking here the other day, soooo stupid, cos I'm allergic to any sugar, so now stomach ache, uuu!!
Got sick hangover next day, puked nonstop, and felt sorry for myself all day, was in bed 16 hours as well, so couldn't sleep at night, and didn't fall asleep close to noon next day, so day rythm is fucked as well!!
Grrrr...
Tried some starcraft again, literally not played in 5 years, my god i suck lol
but fun nontheless, easier to appriciate the vods after having played some lol
Oh well, moving out in a few days, getting ready for Vegas, nervous and excited, eeek
Can't physically win.
Losing every flip, 60/40, 80/20 95/5 and so on and so forth.
You might say be patient, you FTed two donkaments now, but keep in mind i played over 200 donkaments during this week and the week before.
And i see people who barely play em luckboxing several wins in a row.
I dunno. It just seems like there is some sort of physical birth defect that makes me lose while ahead.
Super depressed about that.
Hrmmmm Well after a nice breakeven may I think I'm going to exclusively play Tourneys. And since I suck balls at donkaments I'm not even sure what limits I should start out at? xD
Low-Mid?
Micro-Low?
Today I played first NL50 session on Betfair. I decided to play tighter in the beginning to avoid some mistakes. I played 470 hands with result -1 bi (exactly -$57.64) and my stats was 16/10. It’s too low but it was first time I played on this site so I had some problems and I missed few hands and also made some misclicks. I also set up the HM and I was improving it during the session.
I think that in the session I could lose more money because I lost some hands against shortstacks. I was also a bit unlucky in session. Biggest pot I lost was set vs. overset when I had set on flop but my opponent caught his set on turn. My three biggest loses were set ups or bead beats. All in all I feel good about this session because I haven’t done any big mistake. I’m looking forward to my tomorrow session. I will also watch some videos.
This update is going to be short since I gotta bounce to Rio for the $2000 today. Just got into Vegas a couple days ago, played my first event yesterday which was the $1500 6-max and lasted about 6 hours. Value cut myself pretty hard in the first level and had to claw my way back to starting stack, then got my brains coolered out by a "live pro" which name I will leave out of this. Whatever, tournaments are stupid. Rio has had the most bomb ass cash games ever! They are running 5-10-20 with the 20 being the straddle on the button, action starting in the SB. Makes the game super juicy.
Pretty much the funniest thing I've witnessed so far was at a 5-10 game with Myth and PoorUser, where PoorUser is completely smashed and absolutely crapping all over this younger guy. Finally, On a board PoorUser like double pot shoved the river after betting all 3 streets. The kid turns over and obviously I'm thinking there is no way he's going to fold. Kid tanks forever as PoorUser keeps telling him "When you fold I'm going to show you JUST the Qd" and after like 3 minutes of thinking THE KID MUCKS THE 3RD NUTS. PoorUser insta shows the and we had a good ROFL for the next ten minutes.
Anyways, if you guys are keeping up with the updates on pokernews or the WSOP site, keep your eye on my boy Jake Kalb.
He has mountains and mountains of chips going into day 3 of the $1500. He's 2nd out of 36, so hopefully he can bring a bracelet back to Palooooomar cardroom. Weee!!!
Today i realized how much working in the real world sucks ^^
Especially with the degree i will have after graduating from university.
An old mate who finished the exact same studies at univerrsity that i do atm graduated 2 years ago and
is now a self employer sports scientist.
He works in cooperation with a health insurance company called AOK.
What he does is basically helping them as sport scientist in some research fields and studies while they arrange him customers for his private health courses ( They basically take care of 70% of teh costs customers have to pay for his courses -> he gets more customers ).
He gets 750€ a month for helping them out 20h a week on scientistit research concerning public health
additionally he averages another 700€ / month for giving this health courses ( health excercising etc ...)
He is only allowed to give a maximum of 20h health excercise courses a month or he will lose the cooperation with the AOK
So all in all
-> 1450€ month income ( 2000$) for 25h work/week
ALl in all if u are a poker player this isnt too bad
U have plenty of free time to make additional 2-5K a month ^^
+ u have a relativly easy job and do something that helps other people
If u arent a Poker player and find yourself in this situation
-> Fuck Your Life ! ( 4,5 years of university studies for a 1400€ job ??? >-<)
lol

Poker going good in June so far + 407$ 4/4 days in June played ~ 3,5K hands so far
I have always planned on going to college for Civil Engineering even though I know that is not the career for me. I think drafting/architecture would be best but I wanted to aim high. But in my recent struggle for happiness I am wondering what it would be like to become a professional dealer. I would be surrounded by the game I love all the time and the experience would improve my live game. Has anyone looked into this at all and does anyone know the cons and pros? Also I live in Texas so I would have to move to another state to pursue this profession.
So I've been running break-even for my last 20k hands or so and been complaining and feeling miserable overall (got some RL problems at home as well and poker ain't helping). But this week I've been talking to good old KTD and I really need to turn my mindset around and use all my energy for good things as much as I can so I decided to post some hands and try and plug some leaks with help from people around here.
Hand 1:
This hand was against somebody playing 4/4 over 30 hands. Before this point he didn't 3-bet yet, neither did he enter a pot postflop so I don't have any stats on that. Basically, because he seemed nittish and I opened UTG I think his range is AA-QQ and some JJ and AK. At the flop c-bet everything is still possible but on turn I think JJ and AK is out of the question and I am mostly wondering if he still fires QQ or if it's just AA-KK. Also, is my range at any point to optimistic (unlikely) or pessimistic ??
I thought this was reasonably standard (although maybe thinnish) but just checking. Sample size is smallish because it's just the 2nd orbit but this is already the 3td time he does this in 10 hands. If you need numbers, he is playing 80/40 and obviously 100% 3-bet.
This guy is playing 81/13 over 20 hands and generally has shown that he doesn't like folding so far. He seems reasonably aggro so far but ofcourse the sample size is really small.
Villain on this hand has been playing around 76/57 and seems extremelly aggro so far and doesn't generally fold, sample size is only 25 hands though. Thing I am mostly worried about here is his range. He can have both a worse and a better hand. Most likely either a flush or a 2-pair combination imo. Now I was wondering if a guy like this would insta-shove over my big raise on the turn with this same range or can we narrow it down more ??
Villain in this hand is pretty nitty preflop but doesn't like folding and gets pretty aggro postflop from what I've seen so far. Playing 14/7 with 40 AFreq and hasn't folded to a c-bet yet in the 3 pots he has faced on. Basically I think the turn either gives him 2-pair or a draw most of the time. Even if he has like 2-pair or in the worst case scenario QJ I obviously still have equity. Thought anyone ?? Also wondering if people prefer shoving on the turn instead of the route I took or maybe even prefer a fold somewhere in the hand?
