And networks in particular. Been spending the last 6 hours or so trying to get my fucking computer to access the internet. It all started a few days ago when I couldn't get out and I had to fuck around with static IPs and crap to get it to work. This might not sound much, but when you're totally worthless with technology to the point that your roommate hardly lets you use the remote to the TV it's hard as hell. Now a couple of days later my computer decided to refuse to acknowledge the existence of that weird thing that's more commonly known as "the internet". Two trips to the computer store, a new network setup and some very annoying bitching with my (very aggressive, rude and overall not very trustying) firewall later I've got my internet back. My guess is that the problem was the the old network was set up by some really fucking stupid 17 y/o (me, anno 2003) without any computer knowledge what so ever and the motto; "If you can't solve it with violence, try more violence. Or duck tape". You'd be amazed of what kinds of cables you can fit into different kinds of sockets using a decent knife to prepare them.
I would like to ask liquid players, if have succesfully solved Ongame(Bwin) PT3 problem, after they´ve upgraded new software and new PT3 Beta version 28.2 was installed. In my case - HUD is not displaying and PT3 is switching off in few seconds after first actual hand import... :-(
Thanks for your opinions... (PT3 support have not answered me yet)
Finally switching from fr to 6m. Played maybe 10k hands at 6m my entire "career" or whatev. Going to be starting at nl25 + some nl50. If you are at like nl25/50/100 and want to chat/discuss hands, aim me at xxBalloonFight1xx. (take out the x's)
So anyway im not exactly sure but somehow I ended up playing poker vs some dude live
at wattamolla. + Show Spoiler +
Watamolla is an awesome place at national park where we used to go all the time
when we wanted to go to the beach. It has A lagoon and ocean. So the water in lagoon is much warmer
and has no waves so we usually swim in there. Plus there is a cliff from where you can jump off.
Heres a pic
[spoiler]http://spets1.googlepages.com/watamolla.jpg
So we're playing poker live on the rocks next to the water in cave kinda arrangement.
Im not up or down very much and we have played only a few hands. So im trying to figure out
what kind of opponent this is. TAG, LAG, loose passive, maniac or something else. So im like alright
lets get the stats on this guy, so im trying to get my HEM stats but wtf the game is live and
i cannot do that LOL.
Then the wind blows and all the cards go flying. We collect them and he wants
to continue playing but im like: dude lets recount the cards. So we figure out that half the deck is missing.
At this point i just look around next to the water and i see this HUGE fish swimming and im like
OMFG what a huge FISH! It looked like this http://spets1.googlepages.com/NFI2162.jpg
I did not realise this in the dream but thats pretty funny cos that huge fish appeared in my poker dream lol!!
Talking about metaphores.
What happened after that i dont remember. But i remember that i was waking up and i was like damnit
i want to continue on my dream but it was too late... i was awake.
posted about getting my dream car last year and two days ago, i made it happen!
after weeks of searching, i was very lucky to find an old korean gentleman in Houston, Texas (5 hours away) whose goal is to get the deal done as cheaply as possible for his customers (who are mostly korean) because he loves his country and the brand he is selling (serious). he basically shaves off all of his own profit (he apparently only gets paid around 100 per car he sells).
i put down 10k at first but then the finance people were being kind of rough about financing so i put down an additional $3000 to shut them up and get a more appealing APR. that plus a $500 bonus that the korean salesman managed to pull off somehow.
the man is like 75 years old and has three children who are successful professionals but he still works because he loves what he does for his customers.
the other salespeople at the dealership did appear appalled at what he was trying to do, and tried to raise the price at every opportunity while i was trying to sign (like adding $1500 to the total price between negotiations and signing. mysteriously, with NO explanation. and when i asked them wtf that was, he just said, "hmm... i don't know how that got there. i'll take it off for you." -___-;; ). but in the end, they cut the korean salesman a lot of slack because he brings a TON of business to the dealership from the korean population.
without further ado,
the car:
2010 Genesis Coupe 2.0 Turbo
Nordeshleife gray
$28k including tax, title and license (most other buyers pay over 30k for this specific trim)
Track Trim - Infinity premium audio, proxy key entry with push-button start, sunroof, PLUS leather seats, 19 in. alloy wheels, Brembo braking system, track-tuned suspension, Torsen LSD, HID Xenon Headlights
shitty picture quality does not do the car justice:
17K Hands today, +7.4BI Good Startby Joeingram1, July 01
Played 3 sessions today, first 2 were short and sweet and went well, was up 6 BI. last session tonight games were super good but just couldn't get anything going and was down 6-7 BI seemed for hours. Low point was 1.3k down but ended up the session after 13k hands +77 and total for the day 733 with around 7k vpp
Feeling pretty confident so far that I will be able to get to 10k profit pretty easy, as long as I can avoid the -2k sessions which I know are going to happen. Was playing like a fucking psycho tonight with crazy 3bet, I have been able to calm it down lately and win every session but tonight just couldn't contain myself. Need to really work on that hard for this month.
I also ended up booking 2k more against me making it to 10k at nl100 so i have 5k+ extra incentive to get there and not let anything get in the way. So sore right now, my first long session in awhile!
bonus hand of the day

Thoughts: I had been playing pretty solidly this month. I've been getting more confident in making moves with seemingly reckless abandon, where the majority of regs would rather lay down their hands rather than try to deal with me. The spots I choose to shit on people continue to be refined and with 75000 more hands under my belt, I should be able to completely master this level. however my leaks need more attention than my offense.
Its difficult to play straight when running super super fricken bad in the past week. I am now 10 buyins under expectation. I expect this to happen. I respect and welcome the almighty doomswitch. I did not expect it to hit me so intensely early in my 100nl experience.
Its not the suckouts that get me, a 3 second King Kong f-bomb quickly dismisses the transgression against his holiness. What gets me is throwing away a buy-in because of TILT, more specifically, the inability to channel the patient fearless decision maker within and follow through with His order. When I lose touch with this beast of a poker player, I become The Mummy whose immortality has been swept away by the King's ghosts.
I've been through this before on lower stakes and to my delight, it hurts only at about a 33% pain level of the first time I ever experienced something like this. But its a prolonged dull pain. Today, July 1st, I run almost -2bi under expectation. Mark my words July, I'm going to explode all over you.
One of those sessions where you feel you've played really well and made some good decisions that were well thought out but end up being screwed by the fish. 1000-ish hands and 3 buyins down when I really felt I'd played well.
Villain complete fish - 62/13/2 - only one hand he could really have that made sense that was beating me but he could do this with any 2 pair, any big ace....fml

IM CASTING CHILL VS COMBAT-EX EGO bo5 STARCRAFT MATCH AT 4PM PST. STAY TUNED FOR STREAM LINK.
SERIES OVER -- MORE WILL OCCUR IN THE FUTURE
why does anyone give a fuck?
allow me to explain the backstory.
Once upon a time there was a wee canadian lad by the name of Combat-EX (whom I shall refer to as combat for the remainder of this story). Our good friend Combat began doing a unique wonderful thing for the starcraft community: he posted on youtube hundreds of starcraft VODs of himself playing with voiceover commentary. Traditionally, there has been an wealth of advice to bring players from the D level to the C level (ie bring weaker players to the intermediate level), but not so much anything to bring a TOTAL newbie to the understandings of starcraft basics. I saw Combat's rise in popularity and thought to myself "he's doing an excellent job of creating a doorway through starcraft's vicious barrier to entry."
After the release of this image, many other similar images were posted, all with Combat ex begging for the win and/or OFFERING TO WINTRADE? Immediately, the starcraft community trounced combat with vicious flames and his accounts were banned from iccup.
Much of the community demanded an apology video, which Combat ex provided. Unfortunately, it was one of the least genuine sounding apology videos of all time, so teamliquid raged still.
AND THEN COMES EPIC MOTHERFUCKING LEGENDARY EGO MATCH.
Chill, the strategy forum moderator for teamliquid, challenged COMBAT TO A BEST OF 5. This best of 5 will be cast in about ~1 hour (4pm) by Day[9] aka MOI aka yours truly.
FUCK i can't wait. maybe this should be moved from my blog section to the general section so that further hundreds of people can check out the livestream (link will be up soon). FUCK YEAH BABY!
The same tourney that i took down about 3 weeks ago i played against last night. I FT'ed for the 2nd time in a row, however this time i had bad luck at FT, and ended up getting 6th. My first table, there was a plethera of talented players, somewhat nitty, but still for the place i was playing, they were some of the best ones there. A few hands before i was on the button with KK, had about 3 limpers and had just enough to shove and make everyone fold, picking up 4 bbs and a sb to put me into chipleader at the table. Then UTG i made what i thought was smart at the time, but looking back, no so smart. I was dealt ATdd, and after thinking about it, knowing there were nits at the table (after about 1hr 30 min, only 1 person had been knocked out at the table), so i decide to shove. I get 3 callers. QQ, KQhh, AKo,...i have them all covered, and the guy with AK couldn't make the blind when he shoved (he was dealer), and we rivered an A, for the win. He got 3 k and i had 28k. I go to my next table and within 3 hands 3 people have been eliminated at my new table, and i am the short stack at 25k...We quickly went to a FT, at i had AKo, with blinds at 4k 8k, and my stack is at 23, so i shove. The chick next to me calls with 18k, with a monsterous Q5hh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and turns a Q. =( I shove from utg 2 hands later with 45hh, spike a 4 on the flop, go out next hand with KQs *sigh* but hey, it's still 6th and a FT.
VEGAS FRIDAYYYYYYYYYYY! looking forward to partyin' it up LP!!!
