Well, the graph shows pretty much everything. I'm thinking about recording a short 30 min video 4 tabling and posting it in lowstakes to get help, what do you think?
Bought a 97 S10 blazer in great condition for 2k cash b4 leaving, although i smashed the windshield on the way home (dont ask wont tell ) i drove through the cars pain and made it back w/out being able to see the last 500 miles though, TrOOPA!
Everyone in vegas was fcking awesome except a few exceptions which is standard
I'm playing up to NL100 for now until 2010. Hopefully I can put in a few hundo thousand hands and learn to dominate it before attempting to move to NL200. (0/3 at nl200 lifetime, sad. T_T)
I'd really like to thank rS.eVaDe for teaching me how to use stats effectively in poker without overdoing it(Adolpho), Quocy04 for beliving in me and trusting me 100% even in the bleakest of times, thanks for the place, the room, and the help balancin my life. Sean Nolan for teaching me a great mindset and bein 100% real at all times (and other reasons) Chris, Woodbrave, you guys taught me how to play tournaments correctly. fuckin respect. also, jlost88 (lostaccount) taught me so many invaluable lessons about poker that I couldn't even start to list. Jlost is literally the truest hero on LP imo although 99% of LP may not disagree.
Night01, unique and fun as hell to hang w/, kids gonna go far imo, and an extra reason to always go visit vegas. if ur chillin w/ night ur gonna have a gud night, simple.
SloG4[pG], damn man u made me laugh more than ne thing, visiting NYC is going to happen soon bro
Was also really cool meeting the LP ballas, although I was stoned as hell and drunk as fuck when i met you guys, prolly not the best impression -_-
If I forgot to add anyone, believe you me, def didn't forget you in my mind
Well heres a random pic from the Tiesto show at las vegas, on the left, Danny Tao, roommate and one of my best friends in vegas, to the right is kevin, a non player but very chill.
Have a nice house in central PA now with gsr_01_integ (lper) and the player who got me into poker, 2 hours from holiday valley ski resort, 2 hours from my family and 2 hours from pittsburgh and buffalo (south and north) Happier and much less stress now, feels great
So thanks LP, without you guys, this would most likely never come to pass, and I have no clue where and what I'd be doing.
GL LP,
Ryan
Today's my day off and I was feeling frisky so I jumped into an 11+1 NL tournament.
Started with 1500, lost about 1100 of those but made my way back to 3400. Guy in the small blind went all in before the flop and I called with AQ. Turned out he had JJ and the board was like 3, 5, 4, 4, 3. Finished 66/180. Muck.
Was playing a $1 45person sit n go with a friend. $1 because he plays at work so he doesnt want to lose more than a $1 if a customer comes in. He got busted with 99 v KK, I make it down to the final 3 people.
Last 3 people were
Me: 10k in chips
LAG: 40k in chips
Disconnected player: 9k in chips
So the 3rd player disconnects and instead of pokerstars making him sit out he is just disconnected and every time it is his action it takes 20 seconds before he times out. The LAG is shoving almost every other hand, and I can just fold to 2nd place or I can try to overcome a 4:1 chip lead for 1st place. Blinds are like 300/600 so not a lot to work with. 1st pays $14, 2nd pays $10, 3rd pays $7.
I figure highest EV is to just fold to 2nd place? Of course unless I get a pp of like tens or better? I asked big stack if he thought it was the d/c'd players strategy to d/c on purpose to frustrate people. He said maybe. Ten minutes later he says "he wins, bye." and sits out. It took me 20 minutes + break to blind both of them out for the free 1st place.
made a 40 minute video of me playing headsup vs a regular at 100nl. it's basically the first video i ever made that didn't get fucked up in some way. BUT give me a break, it's far from perfect. if i make another one it will be much better. Also i didn't do the greatest job at processing my thoughts realtime in english. in part because i felt a little stupid talking to myself about poker
hope you enjoy it and plz if you spot any leaks or disagree with how i play a hand let me know by all means!
My bathroom at the place I'm renting is freaking infested with cockroaches they all come out at night. Its because the shower leaks and water gathers on the floor so they have infinite sustenance..
The owner of the place has put some poison down. I sprayed some the other day, and picked up 3 dead cockroaches this morning. I walk into the bathroom now and there are 4 dead cockroaches, and 2 living ones on the ceiling. All full grown american cockroaches.
I really, really hate cockroaches Pretty sure I have a minor phobia of 'em.
Thank god I haven't seen any in my room (yet?). I look constantly haha.
/sadface
my heater kind of ended and i think i hit a small downswing. down 10 buyins or something over the last couple of days. running into the line i hate most of all lines villains take; the call call pot line
shots at 1-2 are not going well so far. im pretty sure it's due to running bad.
this is always good to cheer up though;
Since my last blog is painful for me to even look at, let alone acknowledge, I've decided to post another with what actually happened last night.
I was 8-tabling with the multi-click option on (which I have fixed since, thanks to a comment on my other post) and ended up losing about 3.60 at .01/.02 NL tables over about 2 and a half hours. I realize this is not a lot of money, but it's definitely not how I wanted to start my run with real money.
Today I've played about an hour so far and have brought myself back up to about a dollar short of what I started with. Now that I've calmed down and realized that getting pissed and playing bad hands and blaming unrelated shit will not help my game, I feel I've been playing a lot better.
I hope some of you got a laugh out of my last blog, since I'm sure it was the typical "omg I lost money wtf I h8 poker" post.
played a shitload of 52 hours this month, but its worth it cuz im so motivated when im finally winning again i can just grind in all eternity
hopefully i wont make to many whinefucking posts about how i run 145 buy ins under EV for month after month since im finally winning at these shitstakes..
and hopefully nr2, ill make some enoying bragposts from now on about my winnings at these shitstakes..
and hopefully nr3, brag should be less enoying then the run bad posts
Today, I wanted to tell you about bankroll management that I use.
It's nothing special I think, but from what I have read many beginners have problem with that.
To move up a to a new limit I need 20 bi (buy-in) of that limit.
It's good number for two reasons:
* You can make it fast
* It's enough for comfortable play at new limit
BM is not only about when you go up, but it also tells you when to move down, to rebuild yourself. It is very important to know when to move down.
I have strict rule (maybe too strict) that I move down if I have 18bi of my limit.
This amount gives me comfort that when I move down I have only to make 4/6 bi to return to higher limit.
These rules of mine are basic BM for micro stakes. Personally I will stick to them to nl100. My plan for higher limits is to move up with 25-30-40 bi of new limit, because higher limits means bigger aggression factor means more swings, so more bi will reduce pain of swing. Also amount of moving down will increase to maybe something like 20-30 bi.
My rules for medium stakes are for now in alpha version. I never played medium stakes yet, so I will reconsider them when I move up.
As for now, my BM works good, maybe it is too cautious but, as I wrote earlier on blog I have time to move up and I don't want to gamble.
