Going to write this real quick, dont have much time,
I'm up 7.1k this month. Best month I've ever had. Played about 50-60 hours total.. so im really happy with my results.
I hate university atm and cant wait to get the fuck out of it. It's so tiring and boring at this point(im in my final semester in a 4 year program) and i despise it more than anything. Kind of sick of how little time i have to play poker now, especially considering my results have improved tremendously and that i have the potential to go much further. Lot's of shit to decide once university is finally over for good this december -> break from studies/work/poker/vacation etc etc.
Honestly can NOT wait for december though.
Lastly for reference to any future blog posts - I'm currently a 400NL heads up player. Hope that moves up in the coming months if i have the time to play.
Last month of summer break.
Tomorrow I go to my studies, shit :/
It's been shitty month really.
Down swing killed me, but hopefully new month will replenish this curse and I can play with profit.
For whole summer break (mid-June to end of September) I think I'm break even or slightly down, but not too much /using pt2 so no human looking graph/ probably like -10$.
So not that horrible.
Goals for October are:
[] +50k hands
[] +$100 profit
[] more faith in my game
Oh, and new idea- I will keep track here on my br to some day look and say "haha long ago I had 1/10 of my big blind" or so.
Ok, It's 1am here and I have classes at 8:30am...
Stay tuned.
P.S. House is fckn awesome and latest season of Heroes might not be bad...
/september ----> end of month overview. after i guess improving my HU 100nl cashgame alot or running very good. i was ready to move up to 200nl again. 200nl HU was a real bitch to me and i lost quite a lot there, taking shots at different times in the month. i dabbled a little bit in 200nl 6max because you don't get deepstacked as fast as in a HU game and i thought it would be more comfortable moving up. And i had been teaching a friend to move up from 25nl--50nl 6max and it looked fun again.
i hadn't played 6max seriously in a long time and usually don't 4 table it, and it proved to be a very nice experience. maybe i'm just running really good but i decided to play it again the next day, and the next day, and the next day and in the end played almost 30k hands of it.
i love HU and will return to it and will make up my losses at HU 200nl to attain my goal to reach 10bb/100 there but for now padding my BR on 6max is quite nice and i'm enjoying it for the time being (god wish i didnt switch pokergames like very %)*@)*month, but i just love all the different games ( )
as you can see the total for the month and the gains in 6max 200nl are almost equal and that's because even though i crushed 100nl HU on a larger sample. 200nl HU crushed my winning in a small sample
what also took a significant bite out of my winning is my shot at 600nl 6max, but the game was just very good and i got my money in good but it wasnt meant to be and i refrained from risking too much on that shot.
i will continue to look for really good 400nl and 600nl games now and then but don't expect 10k hand there for next month
not reflected in the graph is that i have been "spewing" some in donkaments(WCOOP and other fruitless endeavors) even counting my small $800 4th place in the 50$ 6max i'm considerable amount down on them. if i count my fluke ship of a step5 i'm probably in the + but so far this hasn't been materialized in any real cash.
If August was my best month so far, September has been my worst. Nothing has worked. It started of really good the first days. But then I started playing pretty bad, lost my confidence and played even worse. I also started to play at Noble Poker but I didnt find any flow at all, just hating the software.
Because of this I havnt had any motivation to play at all. I know I shouldnt react like this but I have. So the volume is my lowest in a very long time.
My trip to Prague wasnt a success pokerwise either even if it otherwise was a blast! Its such a nice city and really beautiful!
Including livelosses of maybe 3k I am down about 7k.
Tomorrow I will start my recovery. I know I have the game to do it but I also need the mental strength to deal with downswings etc. So, now its time to prove that!
Like I said before I'm taking the rest of the month off. A lot of stress running at home with this women staying with us from Japan and its stressing my mother out which stresses me out. Also, been having some lady problems that I'm not going to get into detail with because well they read this blog so yeah.
Other then that life is pretty good. I don't think I've lost any fat or barely any fat since doing the p90x and I've been doing it for 3 weeks now. Though I haven't been doing it consistent everyday, and camping did interrupt it so that doesn't help.
I've decided to switch from the Classic P90x to the Lean edition which I should of done since the beginning because it focuses more on loading body fat. Wish me luck!
I came across this interview today, where pokertube.com was talking to Daniel Negreanu. Here it is if you haven't seen it.
I do agree on a lot of things Daniel says about religion, he almost has my exact same views, and it was interesting him speak about the WSOPE and Canadians me being a Canadian I can relate.
I know some people hate Daniel Negreanu, but I've never had anything against him. He seems like a genuine good guy.
So, for the first time ever I dont have any school or job so I got alot of free time and im gonna use most of that time to grind. I'm not sure if 100k hands this month is possible for me but thats my goal anyway, my previous most hand month is aprox 50k hands.
As for september, it wasn't that good, wcoop was horrible lost like 10k+ there and 1.5k from staking, cashgames was going pretty good until yesterday when I lost 8k.
But overall I think I made a small profit, hard to keep track when playing on several sites and cashouts and transfers between sites etc.
September, Going back homeby Night2o1, September 30
I am pretty happy with my poker results this month. Of course I want a bigger month in October for sure (hand & profit-wise), but I feel like I got myself back on track and I reformed my online 6max game into a winning style (which ofc needs constant improvement ). I'd really like to be at nl200 full time next month but it depends a lot on how I run/play at nl200 for a while.. If I find myself not feeling good at nl200 I will play some nl100 instead!
Looking at my nonshowdown is kind of meh, so I need to make sure I'm not blowing a lot of money there. From experience I've kind of settled on a goal of a maximum loss of .5bi every 1k hands in non-showdown, experience tells me that is around the max loss-rate you can have while having a good overall winrate. Other than that I am just trying to play as well as I can 'n keep evolving..
Tomorrow or so I am driving back to Orlandoooooo. Which is going to be a bit of a pain in the ass. I have really mixed feelings on going back home, but I think its the most +EV decision for now. It'll be nice to have no financial stress again and I'll be going to the gym again (or finding some sort of physical activity), both of which will help me play poker better. Not looking forward to the drive though!
Ugh, totally lazy this month. I wanted at least 40k, and also 10k+ on top of that, but I was nowhere near on both parts. Just been pretty much on vacation, the past week I've been in Japan and haven't played a session at all. Hopefully I can just take that as a small break and really get back at it next month. This month was pretty much salvaged by rakeback and some flipping, ship it.
PS has offered me a real good deposit bonus for $600 since I never deposited and started from play money.
I will go travelling soon so can anyone accept $1.5k PS and deposit in my UK bank account? If you have online banking it's easy and you can just do it online without ever visiting a bank.
- 13k€ under equity
- Down like 3k or so after rakeback (I guess, +/-1k)
- Had a few sessions when I should've stopped earlier, might've taken a few poor decisions.
Good stuff:
- Learned a lot about Omaha, actually made a decent profit playing that this month.
- Had some sessions when I played really good.
- Managed to almost break even despite running so pisspoor over this sample that I'm fairly sure that the last 30k hands or so must be the worst run of my life.
Found out that I've got another month free from school (almost) so I'll try to get a lot of hands in, aiming for like 80k+ and if I make like 10-12k on 5/10 fairly fast I'll be back at 10/20 in no time. Also feels really good to have omaha as a back up when NL games are bad or I'm to tired to play and want to play lower.
As for traveling Prague was fun, Skåne was fairly weird but I ran into an old friend of mine (legendary for being one of the most banned persons ever on the Swedish forum Flashback) and it was fun having a few beers with him.
Think I've got a little bit of a cold, but other then that I feel really good. Even though I'm ahead of schedule as far as my monthly goals since I took a break from law school it'd be really nice if I could get big month now to really feel that I'm back on track since I won't be able to play super much in November and December.
Since I moved to Taipei, I haven't played much badminton, but hope to correct that in the coming months. Gained some weight (71kg -> 80kg) and will trim that down!
Before today I was up 10.6k for the month, this morning I loaded up 6 tables, some Stars some FTP and began to play. Things started off bad right off the bat. I ended up playing the longest session of the month, and possibly of the year for me, getting in 3813 hands and playing about 7.5 hours without a break. I ended down 7.6k, almost 8k below EV. Whenever I coolered someone they sucked out, I managed to lose KK v TT on KJT in 3bet pot, AA v QQ AIPF, AA v KK AIPF, 88 v 34 on 763 in 4bet pot vs some super retard maniac, TT v JJ against a 39/39 with 40% 3bet and 0% fold to 3bet, 0% fold to 4bet. Lost tons of other suckouts, flips, coolers and didn't manage to get there with barely any of my draws.
The only good things I can take from this are that I "should" be up a lot for the month and that I put in more volume than I have in a long time. Just sucks that I'm running like dog crap.
Played 4 tables of nl25 6max for pretty much the whole month, lost solidly. Gonna be rebuilding for like the first 10 days of October to be really overrolled for my next shot, gonna have a coach by my side for this one. I feel like I learnt a lot this month,
Started exercising too as it will supposedly help my game, just running every other day at the minute, but hoping to start doing some body weight exercises on the other off days.
