So as you know I randomly decided to go on a trip to Amsterdam with 2 friends. The weekend was bound to be great and we had a lot of fun. After we had arrived to the hotel (link), we went out to do some sightseeing and the first thing we noticed was obviously a nearby coffeeshop, where we smoked our first joints later in the evening.+ Show Spoiler +
We visited the famous Madam Tussauds museum. I had been to one in London before but this one was just great and well-worth the 21 euro entry fee.+ Show Spoiler +
We ate something in a thai restaurant we found and headed to the hotel. We had to get some rest after walking all day long. And what's the best thing to do to relax in Amsterdam besides fucking a whore from Red Light District ? Smoking weed.
We didn't want to lose our way to the hotel after getting high so we chose the nearby coffeshop I mentioned before. We walk in and ask for weed obv. The guy gives us a whole menu with different kinds of weed and hash. As first timers (well, we smoked weed before but being in a legally run coffeshop was something new to us and we naturally felt a little bit anxious) we decided to go with pre-rolled joints - there were two kinds of them, with skunk and with some strong Dutch shit, which we chose, cause we ain't no pussies right ?! And no, we didn't buy just one joint. My super intelligent friend suggested to buy 3 - one for each of us. + Show Spoiler +
God damn, we destroyed ourselves. At least I did. I smoked only half of it (the most of us all) and wow... Luckily I didn't freak out and had only fun ideas such as feeling the city - and I gotta tell you, Amsterdam feels great We put what we got left into a bag and started looking for a grocery store. Every street looked the same and that's why we had to go back like every 2 minutes to the street where our hotel was placed. I remember when we were standing on a bridge and Filemon said that we should look to the left and then to the right. IT ALL LOOKED EXACTLY THE SAME ! 2 people riding a bike, the same lighting, buildings etc. Just wow.
Some 17 year-olders saw that we were kinda lost and they approached us. We asked them how to get to the grocery store. As we were walking in the direction they had shown us, 2 of them ran to us and asked if we could buy them something too. They thought we were looking for a coffeeshop. So since we still had our joints we gave them all of it. It's pretty funny how underage kids in Netherlands seek to buy some weed while the same thing occurs in, for instance, Poland but it regards alcohol.
So we finally found the grocery store, bought some snacks and came back to our room.+ Show Spoiler +
The next day we woke up at like 11 a.m. and went out in search of a place to eat breakfast. Somehow we found a small, homelike bar, which turned out to be the greatest spot to eat breakfest ever ! + Show Spoiler +
American pancakes with maple syrup, bacon, tea and freshly-squeezed orange juice
Then, obviously, we had to do some sightseeing. We were planning on renting bikes but even without them everything was really close to our hotel. Max. 15-20min walk to, for example, Red Light District or Leidesplein.+ Show Spoiler +
After dinner we went on a boat trip, which was really nice. Amsterdam looks amazing in the night and IMO it's a perfect place to spend a romantic weekend with your girlfriend + Show Spoiler +
... and then we checked out the Red Light District. Apparently it's forbidden to take pictures of the ladies so I don't have any You just have to imagine the hottest chicks you've ever seen in your life and that's basically what we saw there. And a 'meeting' with one of them costs only 50 EUR. So sick
Later in the evening we decided to chill on Leidesplein, which is one of the best places to have fun in Amsterdam, there are lots of bars, clubs, and most importantly people. The Bulldog+ Show Spoiler +
- a well-known coffeeshop company or whatever had its franchise there so we went in and instead of buying 3 strongest joints like we did the night before, we picked only one with skunk. It was enough to make us feel really relaxed and was a perfect ending to that day.
Sunday was uneventful, we ate pancakes for breakfast (but this time in The Pancake Bakery), bought some souvenirs and the rest of the time we were just walking around, enjoying the beautiful city of Amsterdam.
That's it I guess. I don't need to say that it was one of the best weekends I had in my life. I'd definitely recommend such a trip to everyone. Go there whenever you get a chance to. I'll leave you with some more photos + Show Spoiler +

So basically what I'm looking for is a recurring weekend stake for FTP tournaments. I know this isn't the best place to look but I have the best reputation on this site(or atleast the most posts). These are the tournaments I am interested in being staked in.

Moving to Mexico; Letter to Obamaby ToTehEastSide, October 04
Dear Mr. President , U. S. Senate and Congress:
I'm planning to move my family and extended family into Mexico for my husband's health, and I would like to ask you to assist me. We're planning to simply walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico , and we'll need your help to make a few arrangements.
We plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here.
So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Calderon, that I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:
1. Free medical care for my entire family.
2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
3. All Mexico government forms, printed in Spanish, need to also be printed in English.
4. I want my kids to be taught Spanish by English-speaking (bi-lingual) teachers.
5. Schools need to include classes on American culture and history.
6. I want my kids to see the American flag flying on the top of the flag pole at their school.
7. Please plan to feed my kids at school for both breakfast and lunch.
8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.
9. I do plan to get a car and drive in Mexico , but, I don't plan to purchase car insurance, and I probably won't make any special effort to learn local traffic laws.
10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from their president to leave me alone, please be sure that every patrol car has at least one English-speaking officer.
11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put U S. flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.

Anyway, down like 10k so far for the month, running sets into stuff that beats me and backdoors low flushes vs higher flushes. I've got faith though, I feel pretty good about things right now. Also; due to starting the month by getting like 17k hands in during the first 4 days I think I might've won Unibets weekly rake race for a trip to Unibet Open Warzaw (didn't think I would go before I noticed this). Not 100% sure, but still. Nice little bonus. Says some stuff about my playing habits though, heh.
Also did some fishing today. Was fun, I like doing stuff in the rain with dad and my cousin.
I see a lot of people talk about how compared to nl25, nl50 is more variance, lower variance, more aggressive, more nitty...
when i first moved to nl50 a 2 months ago i was getting beat when deep thinking regs was making a move against me and finally i TAKE MY STAND and they show up with a hand :/
Now it's obvious I was just spewing. I get a little dry spot or they get a little hot spell and then lose money. Or I make bad folds cos I'm looking at all the big money. It's not outright tilt but a slight off balance.

So... I'm not working on the road anymore. It's too hard on me mentally to have to be alone for 3 months at a time, never having anyone or anything... whatever, I have been home for a month or so, hoping to pick up where i left off being a microstakes balla (lol yeah right). I can't win at poker though, i had a 4k bankroll when i came home + money in the bank and i'm busto now. Granted that a lot of that was lost playing like $500 wcoop events and shit (I really blame wcoop for being busto) and once i got under 2k i just started gambling excessively playing games I couldn't afford to be in like nl100 hu and stuff trying to use variance as my double-edged sword and reclaim some sort of realistic bankroll for sustaining life. My bank account is dwindling to say the least and I have applied for all kinds of IT jobs but no one has contacted me at all.
I'm really started to get concerned with my well being, I don't know how long I can coast but I hope I can find some hole to give me some wiggle room and find the light at the end of the tunnel and direct myself towards it.
I'm going back to school in the winter as a more humble individual and I think i'm ok with being normal. I haven't really decided what I want to go for 100% yet but I think I either want to be a teacher or a network administrator or something.
Guess I'm gonna go play some aion... maybe try to turn some fpps into cash or something, prob taking a break from poker for a while strictly because of my financial status although poker is such an integral part of my daily habits I have no idea how the fuck I am going to be able to maintain myself without having my day mostly based on grinding.
3) I shaved after 3 months, got a haircut and went for a sunbed. Not that I care how I look like but it brings a little bit of sun into this Scottish dump called Edinburgh -.-
If it wasn't for the suits I am wearing all the time, people might have actually mistaken me for a homeless person.
I also ordered creatine/protein powder and I really want to get back to weight lifting and exercise again. I actually gained about 17Kg in 3 years which is pretty horrendous.
4) Poker wise: I am still grinding NL10. I had two failed shots at NL25, both during the weekend. The fact that its weekend changes everything as you know, as the games are ridiculously soft.
But that also means that variance kicks in brutally(although in the long run my graphs would be hugely up-swinging in this environment), and I found out that when I go 40 times all in and am forced to ship any TP like 30 times per session, only to lose to them random 73o 2 pairs, I need more than 20 BI.
5)Doing some maintenance:
- I purged my database (My PC couldn't handle it and I had ridiculous loading times, there is no need to have a large database at micros anyway)

I will grind it up to 30BI for NL25 this time around, and then go to NL50 with 24BI 4 tabling where I never had any troubles as the variance is a lot lower than at NL10/25.
I will try to read 2 Pokerstrategy articles per week and watch 5dc vids
Started school again, so I dropped my electives (since they stress me out, too much work) and I'm concentrating on my core nursing courses. I have to complete 32 hours of clinical every 2 weeks and I'm placed at a surgery floor. So far my preceptor is really nice and learning a great deal from her. 12 hour night shifts (7pm-7am) kinda such but I'll get use to it in time... I hope. Also been trying to play 3-4k hands each day that I do play. I'm working about a little less, but still in the gym 2-3 days per week. The graph below is for 200nl for the past month or so (All thanks to Tom, he teaches me well).
