I play lots 45 mans mostly and was wondering if anyone else plays lots of these as well im not as good at the 180 mans but i do put in a decent bit of 18-45 play mostly
I originally created this blog to help motivate myself to 'wrap-up' every day with the lessons I learned from that days sessions/videos + my thoughts on an interesting hand. Once again, I struggle with maintaining a more-than-rigorous 12 hour schedule, so to end my day with ONE more productive task is very difficult for me, considering my gaming/degenerate history. I've always had the bad habit of: work about 70% hard for a few hours -->> end day with a blunt and some TV. It's hard to break out of old habits.
The last two weeks have been good though. Me and Joe finally developed a schedule we really really like and it looks a bit like this: up everyday at 7, session 75 minutes, do p90x (totally amazing home-workout program, for those interested send a PM I'd be glad to help), shower/eat/session before 12:00, then HH review. From 1:00-3:00 we work on anything business, from contacting companies/finding potential partners/investors to working on our site and formulating other business plans. Then basically from 3 to 8 we do 2 more sessions, HH review and generally watch a video/discuss. Saturdays & Sundays are very casual, since our goal is to eventually reserve every Sunday for some comedic PUA show we've been dying to start filming. It's a busy day, but it's invigorating to be learning so much everyday and being so productive at the same time .. not to mention feeling extremely healthy and getting more ripped everyday.
Anyway, on to poker:
- 3betting hands like JT92ds in SB vs a LP raise is better 150bbs deep than 100, since people won't be raising gay flops as light.
- ALWAYS ALWAYS give a bare minimum of 10% of their range to be complete monkey BS in SSPLO.
- Generally, people who lead in 3b pots are trying to get folds out of hands with similar equity.
1) Conversely, in 3b pots, vs a range that mostly consists of aces, we can eliminate the aspect of 1) trying to maximize equity, and focus primarily on 2) try to bluff him off a better hand/hand with similar equity. So better to lead a board like T83 2-tone with a wrap because, with proper bet sizing (bet a good amount on flop so we can shove PSB on the turn), we can get him to fold any diamond turn, since nobody is just calling there with AAxxdd.
2) With a hand like JJQdd, we should consider other options since we're allowing him to play turns so well - basically folding all the cards that complete our draws. Regardless I like leading there anyway with that specific hand since a) most the money is probably going in regardless so doesn't really matter what happens, and b) if he folds a non-diamond Q or 7 turn.
3) IP in same situation with AAxx, we should be shoving the flop 90% of the time.
- GTO demands that somebody who bets the flop and then check-calls the turn when a flush comes, we need to be barreling 100% of the time on good rivers since he's c/cing there with a lot of sets + lower flushes + some 2pairs.
- Start 3betting some double-paired connected hands for deception + bluff value.
1) Pay very close attention to the hands and the situations we get in when 3 betting OOP. The main issue is most people turn their hands face up by the turn.
P.S. Laptop died and lost ALL my hands/programs/convo histories/cdkeys . What do you guys think about this badboy:

if you look you'll see that i lost -1.3k (+1~1.5k in several tourneys) in cash games on april 18th 2009, the day that someone from Europe logged into my account and spewed off my money in the most retarded fashion:

1 screw 1 million screwdriversby whamm!, February 25
this was my day yesterday. basically all i wanted to do was have a 3 monitor display, i talked to milkman and genjix about it and they gave me options:
*get a displayport( since you cannot connect 2 dvi and hdmi using 1 video card regardless how baller the model is) genjix
*get a 2nd cheap video card ( ez solution by milkman)
so im like great. ill take option 1 first and try what genjix recommended, just an adapter sounds cheap then i find out:
*my video card has a connector for display ports (YAY)
*my monitors dont support it (AKLGSKJDGKLASDH)
*adapters are expensive, only sold in the U.S. ------> not 100% sure itll work on asian branded monitors, kinda like 60/40 flip
after hours of trying to find a workaround in google, i finally think " screw this, ill go for the ez cheap 2nd card alternative" so i go with the milkman route (no pun intended) then find this gem out:
*my first card, a radeon hd5700, is so fucking huge, that the 2nd pci slot could not fit any other card known to man, but fits for ANOTHER 200usd radeon hd5700 (thx radeon, fuck you seriously)
*so in all my nerdrage, i decided i just buy another after 1 hour of trying to fit that shit 2nd card in (almost tilted and just fucking push it hard and wreck the pci slot and card lol) i go back to my parts supplier like 5min drive away and buy that 2nd card anyway
* i rush home, get started, find out that out of the million screwdrivers i had, the one i needed got lost, even tried those changable screwdriver heads coz the handle got lost and used my fingers which was quite pleasant, then keys and knives (LOL)
*finally got tokeweed to come over and borrow his screwdriver, but after an hour i finally managed to use my bare hands and get all screws done lol
so i fire the computer up finally and the 3rd display had it moments and did not display which almost had me throwing stuff at this point, but eventually it did.
now i realized, i had an SLI mobo capable of doing crossfire, an app that lets u use the performance of the two cards together to give you basically twice the power and maximize the 500 dollar investment on goddam video cards when i only play starcraft lol. i had a hard time getting crossfire to detect both, since the vendor didnt tell me i needed to connect like a bridge that came in the box (TY again)
now that everythigns done, i see that 3rd monitor cannot be used in crossfire apps since crossfire is only for 2 monitors, , i just shrug since ive been running so bad it just felt like another aa vs set on a dry board against a nit. i did not play poker the whole day and was just happy its all over. ty for reading. its been a fun day
one more thing, HAS ANY HUMAN IN THIS PLANET EVER BEAT JUST 1 QUICK GAME VS THE COMP(ROOKIE) IN NBA2K10? THAT SHIT'S SO IMPOSSIBLE IVE BEEN TILTING HARD PAST FEW DAYShttp://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/77ba2.nerd-rage.gif

Yes is a debilitating existanceby toby71au, February 25
My entire life has been an answer of YES. Yes I want kids, Yes I want to get married, Yes I want a promotion, Yes I want to be a slave to debt, Yes I understand you are unhappy, Yes I want you to take the kids away from me, Yes I want to give you half of my existence for the next ten years.
Now I have the freedom to say NO.
No I am not happy. No I will not give you more. No I don't care that you aren't happy.
Why is having so much freedom so hard to take? Why do I miss the things I hated the most? Why do we always have to hit the bottom of the curve before it gets better?
This is not an emo slit wrists type thread just an expression of random thoughts and strong emotions.
Enjoy my pain.
Longple thanks for the tough advice and reach out the other day. Appreciated.
A friend has recently forwarded me to Disney website (Its Canada by the way), and I found out about this movie:
I just love Tim Burton and it will be the best film based on Alice for sure.
Poker
Win - I still keep 4 tabling and its awesome.
Win- I tilted. A lot, even on four tables. 1st time I disobeyed my rule of taking a break after at least every 60 minutes. Standard stuff, but a good lesson.
2nd time I realised something very important - I spew huge when I play right after I come from work. My mind is still overwflowing with all the work stuff and I spew a shitton. Now I know I have to wait at least 60 minutes when I come home before starting poker.
I also decided to standardise my preflop raise sizing to be ready for higher limits. I use the positional systems with the following raise sizing at NL50 which I want to practice next month or so so it becomes my standard and I start changing PF sizing based on table when it gets to my blood.
UTG 2
HJ 1.75
CO 1.50
BU 1.25
SB 2
Also, I have 3 hands I need help with. Please post bet sizing to all bets/raises and your action if you get re-raised.
in the ass and call me a bitch. I did it AGAIN. I played super loose aggro vs a bunch of fucktard fish at NL200 live. Why oh why do I keep doing this! I look back at my own blog and talk about pulling my head out of my ass and quit trying to FPS and outplay everyone at the table just because I see them limping in with trash. Yet I saw a guy limp UTG and call a raise with J3o. The raiser had 94s and was just fucking with him and they checked it down, which is how I saw what they had. At that point I silently said to myself "it's on now bitches".

I dropped almost 3 buyins in like an hour. I dont even remember how exactly. Basically I just NEVER connected with anything whatsoever, and think I ended up check/folding a lot of turns and shit.
Then something amazing happened... I remembered the advice given on LP. I remember reading Myth's articles about how to beat live. I remembered all the posts and all the hands posted.. I tightened the fuck up, said to hell with worrying about a nitty image, and just waited for the big ones. I still saw cheap flops calling the blinds with misc suited hands, 22-99, if it was raised UTG and someone called I insta-mucked KQo pre, etc etc etc. And in about 2 hours I made it all back plus a cherry on top (bout $80) before I decided to call it a night.
It's just fantastic how light these players get it in with. And while I still cant help but think my A9o is good like 90% of the time preflop, these fucking hands just always fail to connect. You really need the AK's and JJ's and shit to be able to properly value town. I even raised AA pre, flop comes A45r, I cbet, get called 3 way, I check turn OOP desperately hoping some tool to bet since there was a lot of that going on, then value bet river and get 1 caller. He mucked but um, wtf did he have? Didnt matter that I raised UTG and a big fat ace hits the flop, somehow his hand was worth about 40 BB's.
So I set a new challenge for myself. Since I'm still addicted to lag play, I'm going to force myself to adapt to being nitty by taking a shot at NL2 FR, since thats how these NL200 games play. I did this a long time ago, starting with play money. I actually had a real roll, but I decided to try play money to get myself used to being a nit, since theres just no other way to play these guys. It worked, and I graduated to NL2 and won like 50 BI's just proving to myself I could do it. It was the first and only time I ever looked at winnings in terms of results and not $$$, since clearly the money is peanuts. These NL200 games are so fucking juicy I simply must start raping them. It's worth it to retrain myself at NL2 so I can play live, because now the $$$ is actually meaningful.
Show me deepstack graph plzby Night2o1, February 24
I was dicking around my laptop database (which is v small, like 25k hands), and I ended up filtering 3-6 player, filtered out and filtered only for sb & bb and effective stacks < or > 145bb. The result was interesting. My winrate with <145bb stacks is very small, with a strongly declining red line, and my winrate with >145bb stacks is enormouslymassive with a strongly inclining red line. I would really like to see some of your guy's graphs with >145bb stacks with or without the blinds, in 6max play, to see if the result is typical or if it shows that my 100bb game is suffering.
I also just had a thought that I should filter for like 75-145bb vs 145bb+ to remove whatever weird effect shortstacks might have (then again there are no shortstackers in my games on ftp HAHA STARS PLAYERS and FTP databases from jan. or earlier, plz filter for 75-145bb instead of just <145bb).
Anyway I will post my graphs later, my laptop doesn't have internet access right this second.
They're not spectacular or anything but I thought a first person view might be more entertaining than just replays, for those who don't have a key. I'll likely be posting more in the future so just go to my channel if you want to check for updates.
c'mon guys really need this give a good vig for the help,i got good referance have done lot of trades.
pm or post here...will do less also will send firstonly to well know posters.thanks and gl
looking for a stake for 100nlby the cleaner, February 24
Reason is that I´m close to busto. I´m playing 25nl atm and it will be much harder to grind up levels with my low BR. Especialy with the monetary pressure on. I have had some unexpected expenses in january and then went on a massive downswing (60bi below ev at 100nl/50nl/25nl) wich probably caused me to not play my A to often as well.
I could play on pokerstars or absolute poker. will play between 15k-25k hands per week if i play on PS and less on AP since masstabling is harder cause of their software. I have been playing ssnl holdem for a living since late 2007 and it has been my only income (wife +2kids), so if anybody wants to stake me, i will promise to put my best effort into it, since its very important to me to grind back to my normal stakes asap.
....the $50 mark and also my arm.
kinda been depressed the last couple of days. I don't think i've ever been happier with my baseball career, and last saturday i tore my ulnar collateral ligament. I'm seeing the best of the best, he's the head physician for the Texas Rangers baseball club and the Dallas Stars, has been the head physician for the US junior national hockey team, and the University of Florida. It's a partial tear in the distal end of the UCL, which is not good. The ligament is in the shape of a V, and the tear is in the smallest part of the V, where everything comes together. We're somewhat lucky that it's a partial tear. The timing couldn't be any worse.
Basically, i NEED tommy john surgery. However, if i got it today, i would be out for this season and the rest of the next season, because rehab is over a year long. That being said, since it's a partial tear, it's a coinflip whether or not it can heal itself. I can't do anything for 6 weeks, and i can't pitch again for 10. I'm out no matter what for the remainder of this season. What we're trying to save is next season *sigh*. If when i go back in 6 weeks the doc says it's still bad, then i get TJ surgery.
What a break even career. Do above average, then get to a team you like, a team that has a shot at a national title, and you're a significant part of it, and then boom, you can't throw anymore. This sucks fucking balls.
on a somewhat positive (even though i really couldn't care at this point), i broke the $50 mark on my cake account. Started out on $3.99 on rakeback, now it's at $51.47 suck it recession.
Edit:
i forgot to add this... Since i am such a competitive person and i'm also thoroughly pissed off at my weakness, i'm teaching myself to throw a baseball left handed.
still fml. shouldn't have to be doing this.
Just as I predicted. The Americans struggled in their quarterfinal against a weaker but decently defensive Swiss team. It should be kept in mind that the Americans struggled to bury the Swiss even though the Swiss were forced to play a qualification game the night before.
The Canadians have just defeated the mighty Russians 7-3 even though we were forced to play the qualification game yesterday. In large part Canada won big because of a Russian roster spotted with only 11 healthy forwards and too many lousy players from the KHL. I expected a closer game because of how many snipers the Russians have but Canada simply dominated from the drop of the puck. Great game and a great effort all around.
Chance of Gold:
1. USA 40%
2. Canada 35%
3. Sweden 25%
USA remains the favorite for Gold because Canada and Sweden are forced to play each other. The Americans earned their excellent draw and have the easiest path to gold. I still expect the Americans to struggle in their semi-final. The physical beating Canada put on the USA clearly showed its toll in their game vs. the Swiss which should have been much more of a cakewalk than it was.
Go Canada Go! Awesome hockey being played in this tournament!
Edit: Shocking upset for Sweden changes everything. The draw is now wide open for Canada to walk to the Gold. I'm sure the Slovaks will bring a tough defensive game but they should be easily over-matched if Canada brings the A-Game. Really surprising and uninspired effort from Sweden. Although the Slovaks didn't have a lot of shots they created perhaps 1/2 or 3/4's the A-Quality scoring chances that Sweden did because they managed to earn 5 PP's and scored on two of them. Hard earned win.
Chance for Gold:
Canada 50%
USA 40%
Finland/Slovakia 5%
To anyone who helps me out for 10 minutes. I will pay $10 for anyone who is willing to transfer me $20 on pstars for $20 on ftp. There is a good chance the transfer will not work because I made an account on my friends name because I got banned like 3 years ago. Anyway, if it works or not, either way you are profiting $10. First person to reply with their Aim/Msn wins.
I have $270 to move from AP/UB to either Stars, preferably, or FT.
I never deposited money on the site so in order to move it I have to chip dump it (rake can be avoided). I've done this before and have done several trades up to this point. pm thx.
