volume starts tomorrow (march goals)by whamm!, February 28
After the whole tsunami thing yest, tomorrow will be the first time i "willingly" stopped playing and stuck to my plan for feb - which was to beat 50nl over 100k hands which i did and make some rakeback for 1k extra. i concierged and waited for the rb to come to strengthen my br further so now im sitting at 6k again after paying for my fast gaming computer rig whch i use for broodwar python 2v2 lol
ive prepared myself for this by setting up my hud again and my tableninja for some popups and stats for 100nl since it plays slightly diff from 50, and took a 4 day break which did me a lot of good and really felt like my goal for this year is to finally raise enough money this year to do a "maynard transfer" and just make this poker thing a supplemental income for buying stuff and a pure hobby. i know i keep saying it year after year lol. this time after last years shitty results i cant wait to finally quit this stupid game. gl to me and all lpers this march! do it!
goals for march:
*play 100nl
*play 10k hands a day or more if possible
*move down to 50 if i lose 20bi
*unrealistic goal is get 100kvpp or 350k hands
*win at the tables ffs
[x] Ive lost almost all of my roll
[x] Close to suicide
[x] Down to the micros
[x] Dont know how to pay the bills if i dont win in march
[x] Im really fucking stupid for not moving down faster
[x] Broke up with GF after 4 years of being together
[x] Panic
[x] Stress
[ ] Confidence
[ ] I have a SC2 Beta key
[x] I could really really need a SC2 beta key
it wasnt to good no
EDIT:
and also
i will never ever ever ever ever again 24 table, ive played so fucking bad this year 24 tabling, sure i got supernova but at what cost?
just look at that redline, that is just pathetic bad stuff
how could i even come up with a stupid idea like that in the first place trying to 24 table when i obviously suck ass at it
never again
i just feel that im better then most of the other 100nl regs at this point, but im just wasteing my edge by 24 tabling, wich is just retarded, i dunno what is wrong with me. i dont wanna be a FPP whore i wanna improve my game and get to the high stakes evetually
i only played for about 14 months now, and i guess ive came pretty far after all? but i just wasted 2 months of my life doing this stupid shit
I have a new coach, that I don't know if I want to out right now or not. I will probably in the future, not that it's supposed to be a big secret or anything. I've just been thinking lately that maybe I shouldn't disclose so much stuff in my blogs now that I'm a stars msnl reg. So maybe I'll hold off on that. I guess I don't mind outing my name though, it's [edited from the future]. If you've played with me or play stars msnl and just wanna talk about other regs, hands, anything feel free to pm me for my contact info.
Also I'm playing some SC2 beta on the side, I play mostly 2v2. add me panorama.teamliquid if you wanna play some 2v2s or something.
Going to Macau (like 4th time within 6 months) in a few days for the start of the 2010 Macau Poker Cup season . I've been doing pretty solid as of late and every aspect of my game (tourneys, cash, mental) has improved so I'm really excited for this year. GL all.
I played my C game for about 4-5 hours this month in total - thats really really low compared to January.
It still did cost me a bunch of BIs this month.
Low tabling has also huge impacts on my off the table mood, as my brain doesn't get overloaded with the losing spots when I am tilting + running bad with more and more hands. Even when I lost 4 buy ins in an hour all because of pure tilt where I was feeling the usual desperation (on 4 tables), I stood up and completely forgot about it, my mood unaffected.
I used to be aggressive and grumpy, feeling worthless and had nightmares about poker when I hit a large downswing while masstabling for gods sake -.-
March
I want to get a decent sample size at NL50 to prove to myself that I can be a solid winning player there (tilt included) and then move up. I will go for 30k hand sample, should be enough.
I will keep 4 tabling, but throw in 6 tables here and there to hit the 7.5k VPP this month (Only some 4.3k VPP in Febn and 15k hands after purging my DB).

.10 -> .25 What should I expect?by Carthac, February 27
Been playing .05/.10 for a couple months now, and am winning with consistency to the point where I feel confident enough to move up. Roll started at $30 and im up to 350 now, but I do not plan on moving up til I reach 400. I believe 16 buy ins should be enough.
From my research, I have found the only difference people say there is between the two limits is that 3-4 bets occur more frequently, and the general skill of the player is a little higher. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me before I make the move up. Would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Well I have finally have had a good month in my career and I get to post results on LP WHOOP!! Started off the month with a $150 roll and at NL 10 and ended the month at NL 50. Now I just have to string together two decent months.

Over the past 3 years LP has really helped me become a profitable MTT player and I was thinking about starting to coach and stake a few people. The specifics of the deal may still need some adjustments but here is what I'm thinking as of now:
I would be willing to take on 2-3 students for MTT's up to $3 rebuys and $10 freezeouts.
I will supply all tournament buy ins.
I will review hand histories and sweat my students nightly.
I will keep 60% of profits. (50% for standard staking agreement and 10% for coaching services.)
Possibility to move up stakes with success at current levels.
Student Requirements:
Be able to play atleast 30 MTT's a week.
Play on FTP as of right now.(I'm sorting out things with stars right now, should be up and running on there in a week or so.)
Be able to play between 6:00pm EST and 3:00am EST on weekdays. (3-4 days a week preferably)
Be able to play for most of the day on Sundays.
Be a winning player with an ABI of atleast $5.
Already be an active student of poker who wants to improve their game.
PM me or reply to this post if you guys are interested. Heres my opr. Make sure you tell me your FTP and Stars account names in your PM/Reply.
Ridiculous Night... can't take it anymoreby basementkid, February 27
I just played for about 4 hours and lost 14 buyins at 10 hu sng. I was up about 4 buyins and then went on a crazy downswing. I have been playing poker for a while now and have been grinding the 5 and 10 dollar sngs on ps and playing rush poker on full tilt and making a decent hourly rate. I had to shut down pokerstars because i felt a massive tilt coming.
Over the course of 14 or so heads up games i got it in with the best hand at least two times in a match and never won. It was the worst set of sucks out i have ever seen. Anyone have some advice on how to go on or if there were some better plays in some of the situations?
For a $600 roll on ps this was a huge hit. Guess these arn't considered "buyins" like cash games but still taking a 140 swing sucks

There are a few more. For some reason they don't show up on the HH, maybe i need to look back farther. I get one guy to stack off with jacks against my kings and spikes a jack on the flop. Another is where the guy open shoves 76o against my 3 bet AK and flops the gin straight.
