BSOP STAKE by tutz_x, March 02

hi guys
I'm gonna be playing the Brazilian Series of Poker from March 18th to 22th. The buy-in is R$1,200.00 ~ $650.00. The BSOP happens once a month in a different city every month. This is the first time I'm gonna be playing it. I'm not a tournment player, I play mainly cash games and I'm beating NL50 for the moment. In February the BSOP was held in São Paulo, the field was a little over 700 player and the prize pool was distribuited like that:
1º R$165.000,00
2º R$106.000,00
3º R$74.000,00
4º R$56.700,00
5º R$42.500,00
6º R$31.500,00
7º R$23.600,00
8º R$16.500,00
9º R$12.600,00
10º ao 12º R$9.500,00
13º ao 15º R$6.500,00
16º ao 18º R$5.300,00
19º ao 27º R$4.400,00
28º ao 36º R$3.700,00
37º ao 45º R$3.300,00
46º ao 54º R$2.900,00
55º ao 63º R$2.600,00
64º ao 72º R$2.300,00
73º ao 81º R$2.100,00

U$ ~ R$1.80

This month Rio de Janeiro is gonna be the host city.
I'm willing to sell U$300 ($30x10)
Results will be at www.bsop.com.br

I dont know if I have anyone to vouch for me... only thing I can say is that I'm a frequent poster here have a while (600 posts) and you can see by my previous blog posts that I'm beating the micros so I guess that will already give me an edge over the field.

Phucket, Thailand by okyougosu, March 02

Im here staying for 5 more days of my vacation at Thara Pathong Resort and Spa... Got bunch of pics but no mini usb connector to upload(( I'll provide with photos as soon as i move my lazy ass to nearby shop... I failed to download any poker clients here so any advices on how to deal with that are very appriciated. I know gambling is prohibited in Thai, yet I managed to win 1bi@5/10 in like 7 hands via browser party client.

Crushing Play Money by SaturdayZerg, March 02

I took up poker 3 months ago, torrented a poker book, and have been playing a lot live recently with friends.

Anyway my goal is to make at least $100 on pokerstars by summer without depositing. Does anyone know how microstakes compare to the higher echelons of play money? Not the cash games, but the 150000 6 max SNGs

heads up is the poker nuts! by tutz_x, March 01

hi everyone!
the last 2 days I started taking shots at NL50 heads-up
I had no experience before and I'm sure I suck at it, but I just loved!
its amazing how it made me think much more about ranges and stuff. Its also amazing how fast you can get coolered and tilt
my roll is a little over 2.5K, I plan to grind 6max until I hit 4k and then I'm gonna start playing hu a lot!
my roll can't stand all that variance yet... If I was a confident HU player I wouldnt mind, but since I'm not I'm just gonna stick with 6max for now
until that I'm gonna study a lot HU and learn as much as I can... I feel that the real learning will come from playing tho...

I think I'm gonna improve the quality of my blog posts too
I know a lot of you guys think my blog is stupid and you are probly right
I just like to troll here and there sometimes, its fun
but I gonna stop it, promess

kisses everyone

edit: oh, and I'm down 4 bi's for the month

February 2010 by Spicy, March 01

Summary:
Destroy 25nl
Fail 50nl shot running bad w/o stoploss
Recover @ 25nl again
Start playing $6 MTT SnGs
Run bad @ 25nl
Make back some money at the end of the month

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r124/SpicyChicken626/febcash.jpg

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r124/SpicyChicken626/febmtt.jpg

Which brings me to slightly above even for the month (not including rakeback)
I didn't meet my goal of 20k hands because of midterms/playing MTTs but that's fine.
I spent the past week beating Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth and it was fucking awesome
Also just bought Slowhabit's new book The Poker Blueprint. I'll read it in the next 2 weeks or so and try to write a mini review for it in my blog.

Cash: -$189
MTT SnGs: +$206
Rakeback: +$100

First month where most of my winnings are from rakeback but I'm not ashamed!

Palomar Card Room by brybear22, March 01

Thinking about checking out this card room after work either tomorrow or thursday. Wondering how the parking situation is. How much is valet flat rate? How tough is street parking at 5pm? How tough is 2/3 game at 5pm til about 11pm weekdays?

Any input is appreciated. Also, I heard somewhere there is a preflop rake?

Thanks

edit: found a lot of answers on http://poker.wikia.com/wiki/Palomar_Card_Club

Poker blueprint - pending review by mikeymoo, March 01

Hey guys!

I talked to Slowhabit about having the opportunity to review his new book, The Poker Blueprint:

http://dailyvariance.com/pics/blueprint-cover.png

As you all may know, Slowhabit is renowned for his poker authoring. As I am currently hovering around NL100 in my 6max game, I thought this would be a great time to get my hands on some poker wisdom.
I don't have a copy yet, but he wanted me to make a blogpost about it, so here you go, Tri!
The book can be found here:

Oh yeah and I stacked Don Cheadle:

gillesse68 the poker clown by Newblish, March 01

Earlier today i played a guy who is most likely the biggest donk/clown i have ever played. I ended up beating him, but he managed to last a good hour or so while being both the luckiest player i have played in a long time and easily one of the worst. I just had to make a picture to represent this guy because ive never seen anyone so bad at poker. It gave me a good laugh too and i want to remember this guy because he was hillarious.

LOL CHOKEAMENTS! by DustySwedeDude, March 01

Got choked by two different black belts today. First my roomie tried to do what I think was supposed to be a Cross Choke on me. Since we're both fairly new and I'm fairly good at pressing my head against my chest he didn't really get much done, in fact I was kind comfortable down on the floor chillin' while he was trying different things that didn't work much. The main instructor then decided to show how it was done, but since the main thing about this coke is that you'll have to apply a fair bit of pressure to make it work and he's a nice guy while I obviously fought like crazy not to give him any room it took him a good 20 secounds or so to apply it in such a way that I couldn't get air and had to tap. He'd probably do it in 5 or so if he just put some weight behind it, but whatever.

Then a guest coach came over, apparently decided that he couldn't have a white belt surviving that long against a black belt and choked me 3 times. My best time from him gripping my gi to me not getting any air was probably about 3 sec. He's apperently a BB under Murilo Bustamante since like 13 years and he was a really cool dude so it was a lot of fun. He kept repeating that "Some guys never taps to this choke. Jacare never taps to this choke. But that's a bad example, Jacare never taps to anything".

cliff notes: Got choked by two different black belts in one day. I thought it was really cool and really fun.

Dear nl50 or nl100 player. by gororokgororok, March 01

Dear nl50 or nl100 player. If you are having troubles beating the game or if you want to increase your winrate faster then this might a interesting coachingblog.

What do you offer?
I offer knowledge which will help you beat your current game. I think I’m fairly solid as a poker player in terms of incoming cashflow , I have had 1 losing month (july ’09) since I started (aug. ’08) almost 1 million hands. Obviously I’m not the best there is and there are way better coaches then I am. But I’m fairly sure I will be able to teach 1 or 2 cents to a nl50 or nl100 player for a relatively small price.
Below you find my all time winrate and EV winrate on different stakes.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/8eb48.all time.jpg

I have to add this though
NL400: This is what you call a heater, I’m fairly sure I’m not beating it for 4 big bets a 100 hands. I haven’t put in enough hands on this limit to get a realistic winrate, but so far I’m winning.
NL200 and NL100: It’s all time, which means when I first played this limit I wasn’t beating it for 2 big bets and right now I’m beating it over 2 big bets. To give you an idea, I was beating nl200 for 3 big bets ev the last 3 months which is around 150k hands.
NL50: This was in oct ’08 when I started out. I haven’t played the game since but I’m fairly sure this won’t be a problem.

Why are you coaching if you could instead just play poker? Something smells fishy..
This is very true. I’m not running bad or low at cash. However I broke my leg pretty bad this newyears eve and I have a ton of time to waste. I put in a ton of hours last 2 months and I’m just a bit fed up with playing poker right now. However I do still enjoy teaching friends who play lower then I do.
And the price?
I’m not sure yet. I think it’s gonna be between $60 and $100 an hour. I have to think about this. Maybe I will vary it to the limit you are playing. So for example $60 for nl50 and $100 for nl100.

Anything else to add?
Yes, I have no payed coaching experience. However I have experience helping people out sweating them. I also get coached myself now and then by Dzoo and understand how explain certain poker knowledge. So in fact you get some cheap dzoo advice along! Sry dzoo : - )
Also I have room for 1 or 2 students and maybe 3 later.

How is it gonna work?
Mikogo, skype and 2 or 3 pokertables. I also have msn and you can send some important hh’s now and then.

Anyone to vouch for you?
Well I’m not sure, feel free to leave your opinion in the comments.

Selling - Nordic Masters of Poker by iop, March 01

Hi,

Thinking about selling 50% in a 3300kr MTT.
1650 is roughly $230-240.

FTP results are the only ones results that matter imo.

I have won one Live tournament (team poker):
http://www.expressen.se/poker/pokerny...dje-sasongen-av-lagpokerligan-avgjord

Pocket5's: http://www.pocketfives.com/scores/iop

FTP: http://officialpokerrankings.com/full...9CB0210B4420AF60497A81DF85D8.html?t=2

Not too impressive Stars: http://officialpokerrankings.com/poke...621A9BFF456EB9E7B7B84B04E66E.html?t=2

I have some ongame, crypto, and svenskaspel results - but as they have not been tracked I wont't bother finding my old results.. Edit: I guess ongame is tracked - I won a 20+2 mtt for $1,5k - impressive eh? That being said, I do have a + ROI on all sites I've played mtts... Even if my sample size is not optimal.

I feel I am +ev in this tournament, and am a well rounded mtt player. PM if you are interested.

I have a bunch of people that can vouch for me, if you would like references PM
